A Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) will inform the pilot about incoming radar radiation. In game there is only a artificial RWR modeled which will show the direction on a clock display. Aircraft in reality most probably had a different form of RWR or even none at all, but for balancing the game they got the War Thunder standart RWR.
The War Thunder standart RWR display showing a "ping" on 7 o'clock.
RWR indicating a radar lock at 2 o'clock.
Actual IP-1310/ALR RWR on some US planes.
A soviet RWR showing features not implemented in the game yet like threath type and below horizon or above horizon indicator.
