General info

Survivability and armour

Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.

Usage in battles

This tank is extremely fast, and Is very useful for flanking manoeuvres. The EBR also excels in peek a boom,as it goes forwards and backwards at the same speed, though you have to be watchful of enemy tanks,as the ebr has next to no armour.

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Extremely fast on road, both forward and backwards like the Sd.Kfz.234
  • Fast turret traverse of ~25°/s allows it to engage agile targets like M18 easily
  • 75 mm M61 shell has great penetration and explosive filler. Can knock out common tanks like Pz.IV H, M4A3, T-34-57, etc. with a single shot
  • Has a narrow and low silhouette, easy to hide behind vegetation and cover
  • High reverse speed and smoke grenade launchers grant it excellent tactical agility, can get out of dangerous situations quickly

Cons:

  • Relies on roads heavily as mobility on loose surface is significantly worsened.
  • Thin armour can be penetrated by anything. Heavy MG and autocannons (e.g. M16 MGMC, Wirbelwind) are more dangerous
  • Steering radius is quite large, navigation in confined environment can be awkward
  • M61 shell cannot reliably penetrate tanks like StuG III G, T14, KV-1E
  • Wheels are large and spread out, can get damaged easily

History

Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===, also if applicable).
