The Stormartillerivagn 20.12.48 is a gift rank III Swedish tank destroyer with a battle rating of 3.7 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced in Update 1.95 "Northern Wind".

General info

Survivability and armour

Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.

Mobility

The SAV 20.12.48 is a high mobility tank destroyer with speeds up to 55 kph forward and 20 kph in reverse. Speed and manoeuvrability are critical to this tank destroyer as it has sacrificed weight to do so, not implementing as much armour as it could have.

Usage in battles

The SAV 20.12.48 features no machine guns, so its ability to fight lightly armoured or unarmoured vehicles is hampered. However, the high rate of fire of the main gun helps with knocking out the crew of these vehicles rather quickly.

  • The gun can one-shot most enemies if it penetrates
  • 1.2 second reload for the first six rounds
  • Good mobility and reverse gear

Cons:

  • Thin armour, even some heavy machine guns can penetrate
  • After six rounds have been fired its unable to fire for an extended period of time
  • Rounds must be used at close range to get penetration on well armoured vehicles
    • Unable to penetrate Shermans and T-34 at the front
    • Unable to penetrate KV`s at the sides and the front

History

Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===, also if applicable).
