The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-27 was a supersonic variable-geometry jet fighter originally developed for the Soviet Air Force. Derived from the MiG-23BN, the MiG-27 was put into service in 1975, and more than 1,000 units were built. The main operators were the Soviet Union, India, and Kazakhstan.
