Survivability and armour

Examine the survivability of the aircraft. Note how vulnerable the structure is and how secure the pilot is, whether the fuel tanks are armoured, etc. Describe the armour, if there is any, and also mention the vulnerability of other critical aircraft systems.

Usage in battles

Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

The most effective way of using the Mirage F1C in air realistic battles is to play a support role. Try to stay behind your team and pick slow and distracted targets. Considering the poor top speed and manoeuvrability of the Mirage F1C, it doesn't stand much chance in duels against most enemies, even against uptiered fighters.

Enemies worth noting:

Every fighter at it BR is a threat for the Mirage F1C because of its slow acceleration and bad response to elevator and rudder. Any opposing fighter will outmanoeuvre you.

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Availability of Matra Super 530F air-to-air missiles
  • The Cyrano-IV allows low altitude Pulse-Doppler (MTI) and ACM, an upgrade from the previous Mirage (IIIE & IIIC)
  • 120 countermeasures
  • Matra Magics are very good IR missiles at this rank
  • Disponibility of the all-aspect IR Matra R550 Magic 2

Cons:

  • Very slow acceleration with full loadout
  • The Matra Super 530F missiles are very heavy and impact flight performance
  • Poor maneuverability
  • Poor top speed compared to other aircraft at this rank
  • 30 mm DEFA cannons are difficult to use at high speeds
  • On hot maps (Sicily for example), the engine tends to overheat quickly

History

Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===, also if applicable).

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
