LVT stands for Landing Vehicle, Tracked, which was used to land infantry on amphibious assaults further than regular landing craft.
In-Game most LVT's have an (A) in their name being a fire-support-variant of LVT's, which stands for amphtrack, "amtrak", "amtrac", etc.
