Like its French cousins, players can utilize the high firepower and good manoeuvrability of the D.510C to take down enemies at lower altitudes; your 20 mm cannon with 60 rounds will certainly make very short work of interwar fighters with very little protection, sometimes even bombers will fall victim of the autocannon given trigger-control is utilized. However, players do also have to be aware of the insufficient speed against later aircraft which could fly up to 500 km/h, as well as its overall unprotected airframe that any shots landed near the cockpit will have the chance to take down the pilot with ease. Unless going for last-ditch options, never head-on against anything that has more guns than D.510C or having run out of cannon shells. The 7.5 mm machine guns might sometimes shine during dogfights, but not when heading-on enemies.

Pros:

* Wing-mounted cannons require less precision in order to hit opponents' vehicles than the nose-mounted cannons on the Meteor F.8.
+
* 20 mm nose-mounted autocannon is easy to aim and lethal against early planes like the He 51
* The cannons are especially powerful considering the Meteor NF.13's high chance of fighting slower propeller aircraft.
+
* Low stall speed of ~180 km/h gives it nice low-speed handling
* It turns well and has a moderate roll rate, this combined with the wing cannons makes shot placement easier.
+
* Very responsive on the roll axis
* High thrust-to-weight ratio allows for very good climb rate, acceleration and top speed.
+
* Turn radius is rather tight, can turnfight early monoplanes like the He 112
* It has a night-fighting radar, useful for detecting opponents' planes through clouds and at night.

Cons:

* It loses a lot of its flight performance at higher altitudes.

* The 20 mm cannon has only 60 rounds which runs out extremely quickly
* Wing-mounted cannons are ineffective in head-on attacks at over 2km distance.
+
* Low survivability: there is almost no armour in its fragile airframe and wings
* High rate of fire of the cannons can drain ammunition quickly if fired in prolonged bursts.
+
* Poor speed against early monoplanes like He 100 and P-400
* Some opponents such as the F-series sabre can easily out-speed it both in a straight line and a dive.
+
* Telescopic gunsight is rather awkward in simulator battles
* Its jet engines make for poor instruments for sustained turn fights with propeller-driven opponents - use speed to outrun them instead of manoeuvring with them.

* Turning capacity is still worse than biplanes such as I-15

The Gloster Meteor Nf13 was delivered in 1954, the Nf13 was used as an interceptor with huge sucsess such as in the "Mivvza  Kadesh" or operation Kadesh in 1956 or simply as the Sinai war, it was crisis which started with the nationalisation of the suez canal making it imposible to Israeli cargoships to trade and connect with Europe and Africa, In the war French and British authorities  called for a de-escalation and bring back the canal to the original owners and they started a military campain against Egypt, Bringing back the Gloster Meteor Nf13 the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) had been using the Meteor as an interceptor to protect Israeli soil, the only time Israel had achieved a air to air shootdown was on "Operation Tarnegol" in english "Operation Rooster" on the 28th of October 1956, consisted on the assesination of Egyptian Generals (By the MI6 and Mossad). One Meteor night fighter variant departed "Ramat David" an Israeli Air Force base located in Haifa located in the northwest of the country, those Pilots where Yoash Tssidon and his navigator and radar assistant was Elyashiv Brosh, While flying towards the west mediterrean, at 12 nautical miles (300km) from the south of Cyprus, the enemy aircraft was spoted in the radar at 2.6 nm (4,8 km), the aircraft was spoted correctly, the IAF commander Dan Tolkovsky had authorized Tssidon to down the Czech enemy aircraft over the radio, by the time Tolkovsky authorized Tssidon, Tssidon's aircraft was flying at stall speed making it imposible to get an accurate shot and even slipping over the trigger producing jamming one of the cannons loaded with tracers, morever it entered in a left sided stall spin while the Il-14 was moving further away, shortly after Tssidon recovered control and got at the Il-14's tail and intiated the attack, the frist burst dameged the left engine and there was almost no damage whatsoever, had he decided to go on a second pass onto the right engine and this shot was the final one making it to go in a uncontrolable flat spin Tssidon describe it as an "mushroomed to a huge fireball", he dive to 1000ft (300m) to only see the aircraft crashing into the water, shortly after the aircraft landed on Hatzor afb located on the west of Israel (at the south of tel aviv), the operation was a sucsess.

In the late 1930s during the expansion of the Nationalist Air Force and in view of the invasion from Japan, the Nationalist Government sought for supplementary fighters before US-built aircraft could be imported as the orders were delayed. During a visit to Europe in May 1937 (for the accession of George VI), France approved the sales of 34 D.510C along with around a dozen other French aircraft on credit; but by the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War, only 24 those D.510Cs had been delivered to the Nationalist forces and the remaining ones were either cancelled by the French Government or by the Governor of French Indochina. They were known as the "地機" ("Dì jī": Dewoitine) and made into service by late 1938 with pilots from Britain and France.
 +

 +
The records from Chinese sources remarked that French pilots feared the war and contributed few of the fights in the skies. Coupled with conflicts of payment and behaviour, most of the French pilots were fired by the Nationalists and all the D.510Cs were then taken over by Nationalist pilots instead. The earliest record of Nationalists piloting D.510Cs fought on 8 April 1938 during an interception of Japanese bombers; the later conclusion by one of the pilots, Hu Zhuangru (胡莊如, KIA during the war) "地機發炮,每次決不應超過三發,發射速度與震動均甚大,不易命中也 " (The Dewoitine shouldn't fire more than 3 rounds at a time, as it has rather high RPM and severe vibration that makes hitting targets difficult). The D.510Cs were then transferred to 17th Squadron and the only confirmed kill from Nationalist forces was from their captain 岑澤鎏 (Cen Zeliu, KIA in 1941) when he shot down a bomber with its commanding officers on 4th November 1939.
 +

 +
As the overall degrading performance of D.510C as well as heavy losses to the Japanese, they were soon phased out by the Nationalist forces by 1941, in favour of new Soviet aircraft.

The operation remained classified until 1989, 10 years after the Camp david accords (Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty).

Description

The D.510C , aka "地機" ("Dì jī": Dewoitine) to Chinese pilots, was the 24 D.510 series delivered to the Nationalist Revolutionary Air Force by 1938. During the visit of European countries after the accession of George VI in May 1937, Nationalist government seek for new fighters to supply the NRAF before the total outbreak of 2nd Sino-Japanese War, which France later approved the sales of 34 fighters to NRAF but only 24 of them could ever made it to China before the blockade of sea and land borders by Japanese forces. Introduced in Update "Danger Zone" as a tier I premium aircraft, D.510C was part of the composition for the early days of the Chinese Air Force and a variant of the French D.500 family, the D.510C offers high firepower at its tier thanks to its 20 mm autocannon and rather good turning radius. However, players do have to be aware of its poor protection all-round as well as its ammo count, as well as outdated powerplant when uptiered.

They were known as the "地機" ("Dì jī": Dewoitine) and made into service by late 1938 with pilots from Britain and France.

As the overall degrading performance of D.510C as well as heavy losses to the Japanese, they were soon phased out by the Nationalist forces by 1941, in favour of new Soviet aircraft.[1]

The decal in game marks the No.4106 as in 1938 when it was stationed in Kunming (昆明).
