Effective damage
This bomb has an explosive power comparable to that of a 3 inch/76mm HE shell. Barely enough to destroy anything, even armoured cars and open vehicles, in which case multiple SD10C bombs are needed.
Comparison with analogues
The only bomb that can be can be comparable is the AO-25M-1 (25kg).
Usage in battles
Because of the extremely small nature of the bomb, it is only effective against extremely lightly armored targets, such as the GAZ-AAA, or 15cm slG 33 B Sfl.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Light and easy for new players to learn how to use ground attack weapons.
- Effective against soft targets (AA, Artillery, open vehicles)
Cons:
- Payload too small to even inflict damage to armored targets (pillboxes, tanks).
History
The cast steel body of the bomb is closed at the tail by a sheet steel plate shrunk into position. Externally the tail end is machined to form a seating for the tail unit. Nine angular grooves, machined in the body ensure good fragmentation. The fuse adaptor, internally threaded to accept the airflow control ring of the fuse EAZ (66) A, is shrunk into a recess formed in the nose of the bomb body. The main filling is recessed at the nose end to accommodate a long gaine. The tail unit, secured to the bomb body by four indentations, is formed of four similar sheet metal pressings riveted together.
Quoted from the "Luftwaffe Resource Center" on the SD 10C bomb.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
