-The SIDAM-25 mistral (introduced in [[Update 1.91 "Night Vision"]].) is an Italian made anti air platform made by OTO Melara during the cold war. Based on the M113A1 platform, the SIDAM-25 was primarily made to fill a need for a short range air defence of the Italian army. Its history is quite complex, originally the Italian army was interested in the OTOMATIC anti air platform however due to several factors, such as the cost, the SIDAM-25 would be chosen. It did have its set of drawbacks, mainly the fact it lacked any radar systems unlike other AA platforms of the era. The SIDAM began to be phased out in the late 2010's, most of them would be used to arm the Freccia IFV with a 25mm cannon. The SIDAM-25 would have in total 275 systems ordered, it was equipped with 4 x 25 mm Oerlikon KBA cannons with the ability to fire HEI-T* and APDS rounds. The Sidam-25 Mistral would be made as a sole prototype to test the surface to air missile capability on the platform and as a last ditch effort for OTO Melara to upgrade the SIDAM's so they'd remain in service and not be completely obsolete. Because of the high fire density, this SPAA is able to destroy planes within seconds and just needing a few rounds to hit their target. The M792 belt rounds (HEI-T*) contain a TNT equivalent of 54.4 grams in each projectile, and have a high muzzle velocity of 1,100 m/s, making target leading much easier. However, because of the lack of armour-penetrating rounds in the standard belts, your maximum penetration remains 3 mm until you get the M791 belt (APDS). Once the M791 belt is unlocked, defeating tanks will be much easier, given the 81 mm of penetration at 10 metres, and a muzzle velocity of 1,345 m/s. The potential is however severely limited by the maximum capacity of 660 rounds (165 per gun). Overall, be very careful with your ammunition considering the fire rate and the small ammunition capacity. 4 x 550 rpm and a maximum of 660 rounds means you have about 18 seconds of continuous fire available, that said once your round are on target there isn't much that can survive, helicopters and aircraft will go down with ease if you aren't spotted. The platform also sadly in game isn't too good, you are just about mobile enough to get to where you want to go but considering how big the vehicle is, you don't really have the ability to go unoticed on the battlefield. Armour wise you lack too, heavy machine guns will go right through you with ease. In conclusion, stay hidden and fire only when you see an opportunity to do so. The 6 surface-to-air Mistral missiles are extremely useful against low flying aircraft and helicopters which stray to close to the battlefield, due to such aircraft having access to countermeasures at times your missile will not hit the target, so its best to either fire a missle while they're preoccupied or, pair the missle with your main cannons as to give you a better chance for you to get a hit on a target.
