 The '''{{Specs|name}}''' was an Italian destroyer built for Regia Marina in 1920s, she was a lead ship of Turbine-class destroyers, which were improved and enlarged versions of preceeding Sauro-class. Armament of Turbine consisted of four 120 mm/45 OTO Model 1926 guns in two twin turrets. One each fore and aft of superstructure. Anti-aircraft weaponry was supplied by three Vickers-Terni model 1915/1917 autocannons with two located behind the rear funnel, one on each side of hull and the third being aft of rear main armament turret. Torpedo weaponry consisted out of two triple 533 mm launchers firing S.I. 250/533,4X7,5 Tipo A torpedoes. Turbine was completed on 27th August 1927. During Spanish Civil War, Turbine torpedoed and sunk Soviet cargo ship Timiryazev carrying coal from Cardiff to Port Said. At the time of Italy entering WWII, Turbine with her sisters Aquilone, Euro and Nembo formed 1st Destroyer squadron based in Tobruk, Libya. In June 1940, she laid minefields around Tobruk.
