The missile uses the same seeker as the one present in the FIM-92 Stinger missile, making it quite hard to dodge, and the improved engine makes it even more lethal. However, the Israeli Chaparral still suffers from a lack of radar and a gun for very close-range engagements, as even the improved missile is not capable of hitting if the locked target is just a few metres away, which is especially dangerous against enemy helicopters.
