The '''Type 4 ''Chi-To''''' ({{Annotation|四式中戦車チト|Yon-shiki Chū-sensha Chi-To}}) was the Japanese anwser to the [[M4 Sherman (Family)|M4 Sherman]] as the [[Chi-Ha Kai]] was grossly outdated by the time of the American island hopping campaign was going on and the potential 1930 tank being demolished by the mass produced 1940 standard that is the Sherman. The Chi-To came only to a concluding development just before the war ended after many delays. Only 2 were known to be completed.
