With similar performances to the AIM-9B, the FGW.2 should be treated the same way. The missile's performance is generally sub-par in comparison to other missiles found around 9.0 to 10.7, thanks to the FGW.2 basing having stats of a missile designed in 1954-6. With only 10G's of overload and a tracking rate of 11°/s, it performs terribly in high-G dogfights. The missile will be ready to fire in 1 second, while the target search time amounts to 20 seconds.  &lt;br /&gt;

For being relatively bad compared to other missiles, the FGW.2 does not disappoint in the damage department. Like every other AAM, if this missile connects, it will knock out or at least deal critical damage to any aircraft. Obviously, it can't be used against ground targets, unless you count parked and active aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;

* Enemies that constantly roll in order to dodge your guns will find the missile to be much more accurate, as their aileron rolls put them in a situation where they can't run.&lt;br /&gt;
* Enemies that have high compression speeds will find your missiles hard to dodge as well. The [[Vautour IIA IDF/AF (France)|French Vautour bombers]], high speed [[MiG-15 (Family)|MiG-15]]'s and [[Yak-38]]/[[Yak-38M|38M]], and [[F11F-1]]'s won't be able to outturn the missile's seeker at high speeds, and will be forced to either bleed enough speed to manoeuvre or get hit by the warhead. It has a top speed of around Mach 1.7, so the planes that can outrun this missile with low manoeuvrability are other [[F-104 (Family)|F-104]]'s.&lt;br /&gt;

The {{PAGENAME}} can carry great amounts of payload due to its distinctive feature, the turboprop powerplant. This engine enables it to exceed 600 kph in level flight.&lt;br /&gt;

The Wyvern is an aircraft that can carry a large payload so it can be used in the strike fighter role. One of its most popular payloads, 16 x RP-3 , enables it to destroy a large amounts of targets with medium armour like light pillboxes and up to heavy tanks. The Wyvern is also a strong fighter, below 3,000 m. As the Wyvern does not have a compressor of any sorts, engine power drops significantly above 3,000 m. Keeping altitude at 3,000 and doing Boom &amp;amp; Zoom or Boom &amp;amp; Run attacks are of the most successful fighting doctrines. Although the Boom &amp;amp; Zoom attack will most likely bleed the Wyvern's speed very quickly, employing Boom &amp;amp; Run instead of this attack is recommended when possible.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Wyvern S4, being a turboprop, is an exceptionally fast aircraft for its battle rating. Though a prop aircraft, the Wyvern functions very similar to jet aircraft in play style, due to the nature of its weight and engine.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At sea level, where the engine functions at maximum capacity, the Wyvern is almost uncatchable. Being able to maintain nearly 640 km/h in level flight without a payload, even enemies diving on the Wyvern will have trouble catching up, and will quickly fall behind as they lose energy. This is the strength that any pilot of the Wyvern should always exploit, by employing Boom &amp;amp; Run tactics on enemies. With four Mk V Hispano cannons, and a staggeringly large ammo reserve, the Wyvern is more than equipped to quickly dispatch any aircraft that end up in front of it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Though the Wyvern does have an above average climb rate due to its powerful engine, it functions best near sea level. The pilot should only take the plane up to a maximum of a couple thousand meters, unless bomber hunting, and use the Wyvern's excellent acceleration and top speed to quickly annihilate any enemies who end up on low altitude. The Wyvern can also use this speed to bait enemies, who see the Wyvern as an easy target, down to low altitudes. This will allow allied fighters to easily establish high altitude air superiority, which can often end up in victory by itself, without the Wyvern pilot actually putting himself in any great danger.&lt;br /&gt;

Speed, climb rate, and armament are the Wyvern's only real method of taking out enemy aircraft. Though it can go incredibly fast, this is solely due to the aircraft's powerful turboprop engine. Coming in at a heavy 7 tonnes with no payload, or 9 and a half tonnes with its maximum payload, the Wyvern's speed suffers when performing any maneuver bar going in a straight line. Even minor adjustments will cause the fighter to bleed speed at an alarming rate, with full-out turns able to halve the aircraft's speed before it has even completed a 180. Whilst it has the speed, the Wyvern can turn very fast but as mentioned it will lose this speed in the turn very quickly. Unless absolutely necessary, avoid performing any but the most gentle of maneuvers in this 7 tonne beast.&lt;br /&gt;

This focus on simply flying straight is further amplified by the turboprop's ability, or lack thereof, to quickly react to input changes. As happens in jet aircraft, the turboprop engine found on the Wyvern will take a fairly long amount of time to react to changes to the throttle meaning the Wyvern pilot will struggle to regain speed if the throttle is dropped at any point, such as to recover from a vertical stall maneuver.&lt;br /&gt;

As a gift aircraft, the Wyvern's main role in a player's lineup will usually be to grind Silver Lions and Research Points. With its wide variety of secondary armaments, the Wyvern is one of the best aircraft available to the British for this purpose. The Wyvern was one of the only turboprop aircraft ever fully developed, and entered service long after World War II had ended. As it turned out, jet engines were perfect for fighter aircraft but too “voracious” for strike aircraft, as they significantly reduced their range. The best engineering solution was to introduce the turboprop engine, which was a task the Douglas company undertook.&lt;br /&gt;

Initially, engineers simply wanted to replace the piston engine of the Skyraider attack aircraft with a turboprop engine. However, this led nowhere and the vehicle required significant modification. In the end, the engineers settled on a prototype with Allison Т-40А-2 turboprop engines and coaxial propellers.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The first flight of the XA2D-1 prototype, called the Skyshark, took place on May 26, 1950, but engine vibration nearly destroyed the aircraft and it was forced to land after only two minutes. By December 1950, the prototype had already completed over a dozen flights. However, a routine flight on December 19, 1950, ended in tragedy. Due to issues with the engine, the vehicle and pilot crashed. Nevertheless, testing continued and, despite the many technical problems that plagued the aircraft, the army ordered 10 pre-production models of the A2D-1. However, on August 5, 1954, another accident occurred when the main gearbox failed, and the aircraft crashed a short distance outside Los Angeles. This time, the pilot managed to escape the aircraft, but the project was closed and it was decided to dismantle any existing prototypes. Apparently, this decision was influenced by the fact that in the same year for the first time Douglas got another project in the air, this later became the famous A4D Skyhawk - a new generation of jets.&lt;br /&gt;

In developing this aircraft, the Bell designers came up against two global problems. The first was that the P-39 was intended for export, and there was no way around this. The impossibility of fitting a turbo compressor to the low-altitude Allison engine (for fully explicable reasons) was one reason why the aircraft was never able to achieve a worthy place in the US air forces. The cannon had a lot of faults, mainly its low rate of fire and extremely inadequate stock of ammunition - only 30 shells. On the other hand, in spite of its weight, it could easily be fitted in the front part of the Cobra's fuselage; furthermore, it has one incomparable advantage over the Bendix product - it actually fired.&lt;br /&gt;

It must be noted that the M1 cannon was not always fitted onto the first series of the P-39, you could find the M4 here and there. Only the Model 26 (P-39G) carried the M4 as standard equipment. However, it did not go into production, but became the founder of a whole number of virtually identical series from P-39K to P-39Q. The main units were borrowed from the quite promising P-39D-2 series.&lt;br /&gt;

The P39K differed from the earlier models in its engine, the Allison V-1710-63, which was successfully tested in that same D-2. It was fitted with an afterburner system. It developed a nominal power of 1352 h.p. and 1550 h.p. in WEP (War Emergency Power) mode. The K series was the only one fitted with such an engine along with a three-bladed Aeroprop propeller. It was a full 360 kg heavier than the D-2, although externally, apart from the propeller, there was no visible difference. In fact, the extra weight was due to additional armor plating, which was used beginning with the K and on all subsequent series.&lt;br /&gt;
