The Pr.50 Karl Marx is a squadron vehicle equivalent of the Pr.50 Yenot. Compared to other frigates, the Karl Marx has better firepower than most with the exception of late Japanese and British frigates. The biggest downside this ship faces is the reload. Most frigates such as SKRs and the Köln-class will outgun the Karl Marx.

The Karl Marx is best played at a range farther than most frigates. This will give the ship better time to respond to threats and keep it out of heavy enemy fire, almost like a mini destroyer. Like many frigates, focus on small targets such as boats, then frigates, then destroyers. Do not rely heavily on AA as much as other ships such as the Köln as it traverses terribly and has no VT. Instead, use any VT or timed shells in advance.

=== Pros and cons ===
Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".'' -->

* No autoloader (stuck with base 5.2 second reload)
* Horrendous traverse on dual 37mm AA
* Hopelessly outclassed by other frigates in its BR
<!-- ''Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed.'' -->
After grinding the grossly under-powered [[MZ1]], you will be relieved to be at the helm of 206. The 206 is faster and more manoeuvrable with base configuration. One should seriously consider getting rudder upgrade after tools and fire-prevention equipment, as stock rudder is sluggish which makes it difficult to bring torpedoes to target in some of the tighter maps.
{{main|53-56 (533 mm)|BB-1 depth charge}}

The Pr. 206 is armed with 4 x 1-tube torpedo launchers. With a relatively heavy warhead of 400 kg, these are your main weapon against heavily armoured threats or when attempting attacks at a distance. Your torpedoes have a max range of 13 km (8 km without torpedo mode) and can be used at close range.
|}

The Pr. 206 can also be armed with BB-1 depth charges, originally intended for use against submarines. It is not recommended to load them in the ship as they do not have any practical use in naval battles.

== Usage in battles ==
<!-- Describe the technique of using this ship, the characteristics of her use in a team and tips on strategy. Abstain from writing an entire guide – don't try to provide a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought. Talk about the most dangerous opponents for this vehicle and provide recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of playing with this vehicle in various modes (AB, RB, SB). -->
The Pr. 206 is best used as a backline AA flagship which can dominate the coastal waters with it's 30mm rapid fire cannon. It's radar will make it hard to be caught off guard by pesky aircraft and the armament will be more than enough to decimate anything in it's BR. The ship can also tear through most coastal vehicles save for the frigates. Be advised, the ship is not well armoured owing to the Cold War doctrines of ships from that era as well at the closely packed crew compartments. this ship is best placed in a comfortable buffer behind cover where it can still fire or near an allied frigate or destroyer which could distract enemy vessels. Trigger discipline is necessary when using the vessel as the main armament chews through the 2000 rounds , especially when broadside. Therefore, the guns should be fired in no more than a one second burst at any target except when absolutely necessary.

The biggest threats to the Pr. 206 are autocannons, guided missiles, and larger vessels. Larger vessels should be avoided, especially frigates such as the SKRs. Their rapid firing armament can quickly destroy the vessel and their armour allows them to shrug off the 30mm. In the event where frigates can't be avoided, taking out the main gun should be a priority. Guided missiles, however, are potentially the most dangerous threat as vehicles such as the Saetta P-494 can engage the Pr. 206 at any distance within range of their missiles. The best option is using cover and wait until the vessel becomes distracted.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list.
* Fast-firing effective armament with 360° of traverse
* Four torpedo tubes

'''Cons:'''

* No dedicated AP belts
* Low ammo count with no way to replenish supply except when one of the armaments are fully depleted
* Weak armour
* Low crew count
The Project 206, also known under the NATO reporting name as the "Shershen-class", was a class of Soviet Cold War-era torpedo boats developed in the late 1950s as a replacement for the Project 183 "Bolshevik". The new Project 206 was designed with similar principles in mind as the Bolshevik, those being cheap production costs and easy maintenance. Furthermore, the Project 206 torpedo boats, similarly to the design that preceded it, were meant to be used close to the shoreline and in fair weather.

The first boat of the class was completed and commissioned with the Soviet Navy in 1960. Three Soviet shipyards produced the Project 206-class torpedo boats in USSR, but few of them have been delivered to Yugoslavia in parts and their assembly was carried out on place by Yugoslav workers. The Project 206-class torpedo boats were used by, beside the Soviet Navy, Eastern Germany, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Egypt, Vietnam, North Korea and several other nations using only a small number of vessels. The Project 206 was mostly decommissioned from active service with most operators by the 1990s, although Egypt and Vietnam still used some Project 206s in the 2000s.
Hello hello, I am a War Thunder player. I play every tech line, but I personally enjoy World War II era vehicles.

I'm currently on a long journey to fully grinding the full German tech trees for naval. I can offer a comprehensive discussion on how a good portion of the ships play out on my Discord SdwCdrGhost#3157. One day, I will research every vehicle in naval and actually be useful for people who don't play Germany. If you manage to find this page and don't care about naval, I am open talk about other things since I don't expect to be flooded. In the second part, tell the reader about the aircraft in the game. Insert a screenshot of the vehicle, so that if the novice player does not remember the vehicle by name, he will immediately understand what kind of vehicle the article is talking about.'' -->
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German jet fighter {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.43]].

The Ho 229 V3 is the first jet in the "Zerstörer" tech tree of the Luftwaffe and currently comes before the [[G.91 R/3]]. Ironically, it goes against much of the doctrine set by the previous planes, favouring speed and manoeuvrability over armament and durability.

Something that will immediately stand out with the Ho 229 V3 is how incredibly manoeuvrable it is compared to most other jet fighters. The Ho 229 V3 can almost quite literally turn on a dime and can even in some circumstances out-turn late super props such as the [[P-51H-5-NA|P-51H]] if manoeuvred correctly. However, if its manoeuvrability is used to its full extent, it also causes the plane to bleed speed at a crippling rate, making a sustained turn fight impossible to win. As such, it is advised to use the Ho 229 V3 as a Boom & Zoom fighter in order to maintain airspeed and altitude. Remember that jet engines' efficiency is directly proportional to the IAS, due to the increased air intake, meaning the Ho 229 V3 will be accelerating very slowly between 0-500 km/h, but beyond will be able to outrun any propeller-driven aircraft.

=== Modifications and economy ===
{{Specs-Economy}}

Given the Horten's weight, the acceleration is an issue on the stock plane. Go for ammunition, engine and compressor upgrades first.

After that, any upgrade is equally good. Weapon upgrades can wait, as the Mk 103 is the best gun in-game, with high accuracy and long bursts stock. The belts also shouldn't be a priority unless using the Ho 229 as an attacker. In that case, the "Armoured targets" belt is very useful against tanks & light pillboxes.

== Armaments ==
{{Specs-Avia-Armaments}}
=== Offensive armament ===
{{Specs-Avia-Offensive}}
<!-- ''Describe the offensive armament of the aircraft, if any. Describe how effective the cannons and machine guns are in a battle, and also what belts or drums are better to use. If there is no offensive weaponry, delete this subsection.'' -->
{{main|MK 103 (30 mm)}}

The '''''{{PAGENAME}}''''' is armed with:

* 2 x 30 mm MK 103 cannons, wing-mounted (170 rpg = 340 total)

====Ammunition====

* '''Default:''' {{Annotation|HEI-T|High-explosive incendiary tracer (minengeschoß)}}{{-}}{{Annotation|I|Incendiary}}{{-}}{{Annotation|AP-I|Armour-piercing incendiary}}; okay against planes.
* '''Armoured targets:''' {{Annotation|HVAP-T|High-velocity armour-piercing tracer}}{{-}}{{Annotation|I|Incendiary}}{{-}}{{Annotation|HVAP-T|High-velocity armour-piercing tracer}}{{-}}{{Annotation|AP-I|Armour-piercing incendiary}}; the armoured target belt is different for the Ho 229 V3, compared to all other Mk 103 armed aircraft, and is only a 1/2 as effective, due to the belt being filled with incendiary shells.
* '''Air targets:''' {{Annotation|HEI-T|High-explosive incendiary tracer (minengeschoß)}}{{-}}{{Annotation|HEI|High-explosive incendiary (minengeschoß)}}{{-}}{{Annotation|HEI|High-explosive incendiary (minengeschoß)}}{{-}}{{Annotation|I|Incendiary}}; each Minengeschoß (mine-shell) has the same HE power as a 37 mm round, wonderful against anything that flies and light ground targets.
* '''Stealth:''' {{Annotation|AP-I|Armour-piercing incendiary}}; difficult to use; cannot destroy most tanks nor pillboxes, lacks the destructive force of HE shells against planes.

== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
[[File:FighterImage_Ho-229Vunknown.jpg|thumbnail|Horten 229 Version 3 with its wings attached by the USAF in 1950.]]
The Horten 229 flying wing is a dogfighter, heavy-fighter, or even an attacker.

Its single wing design allows for amazing manoeuvrability despite its weight of up to 8 tonnes, when equipped with full fuel load. This is, however, the Horten's literal downfall; the weight. Its acceleration is awful, even for jets. But the energy retention is great and climb acceptable. With that in mind rule number one of jet battle comes into play: do not turnfight! The 229 will tempt anyone though. The low wing loading for a jet and even some piston planes allows for tight turning circles. Being heavy also allows to keep that velocity well in the initial turns, but with the inability to regain that speed afterwards... leads to a flaming wreck thanks to an opportunistic enemy. The classic dogfight is thus only for emergency situations!

As a fighter, stick with Boom & Zoom, in which the Ho 229's heavy weight is of assistance in zoom climbs. However, it will also dampen the Horten's starting acceleration in a dive, making out diving an enemy difficult. The bad roll rate makes it hard to get some shots on target, But watch out! Don't pull too hard on the elevator to get that shot, or the Horten will lose much speed (which cannot be regained quickly) or rarely, lose a wing.

The heavy fighter role equals the fighter one in every aspect, just that the targets are usually bombers. Stay fast, and try to get shots off in head-ons, or in slight diving turns from the bomber's six (tail), to make it difficult for the defensive gunners to hit the Ho 229.

The attacker role is a dangerous one. The Ho 229 will have to fly slow, in order to have time to properly aim, hit & evade trees. While all of these aren't difficult in the Horten 229 V3, it leaves the plane in a dangerous spot: low and without speed. Both are vital though for the sluggish plane. In this role, be sure to have good escort fighters, as enemies can come at any time in jet combat.

Once the Horten is fully upgraded, or at least the performance parts are, one detail to notice is that the wings won't rip so easily like before, but the Ho 229 still has to turn cautiously, because it is still a wooden plane after all.

Perhaps the most dangerous enemy of the Horten 229 is the F-84 Thunderjet. Since the Thunderjet gets an air spawn it already has all the energy it needs to get around the map quickly. There are occasions when players spawn in late, only to be strafed by an F-84 Thunderjet on the runway. The Ho-229 is decent at accelerating once up to about 550 km/h, past that point, the Ho 229 becomes a V2 rocket in terms of acceleration until about ~750-800 km/h, then there will be a hard time accelerating again.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".'' -->

'''Pros:'''

* Excellent armament, MK 103 is one of the best guns in the game
* Great ammunition supply with 170 rounds per gun
* Low wing loading, incredibly good at turning when flown at medium speeds (400-600 km/h)
* Good energy retention if not manoeuvred too harshly
* Outruns piston-engine aircraft and all Allied jets, except for the F-84 Thunderjet when up-tiered
* Low stall speed of 165 km/h
* Fast when diving if flown at medium to high speeds before committing to a dive
* The air brake can bleed airspeed efficiently

'''Cons:'''

* Acceleration is slow- even its initial acceleration in a dive
* Only 2/4 of its armoured target belt is comprised of HVAP-T shells, unlike other MK 103 equipped aircraft, which have only HVAP-T shells
* Is easy to hit when turning, above, or below because of the size
* Easy to destroy wings in hard turns at high speed
* Terrible yaw rotation
* Poor roll rate - Significantly hinders the ability to counter defensive scissors
* Slow rate of fire results in occasional misses when sweeping quickly behind enemies if aiming at wings, which have a thin profile
* Have to land slow, cause of the lack of brakes
* Loses speed quickly in elevator turns
* Gets matched against enemy jets that have superior performance
* The cannons have a large dispersion cone.

In the 1930s, the Horten Brothers were really interested by the concept of "flying wing" for the potential of drag reduction.

In 1943, Marshal Hermann Göring requested a plane that could carry a 1,000 kg bomb load to a range of 1,000 km at a speed of 1,000 km/h. Because jet engines of the time had poor efficiency, the Horten Brothers thought putting them in a flying wing, which had reduced drag, was the solution.

The Horten Brothers proposed their project for a bomber, Ho IX, but the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM) thought the plane would be better as a jet fighter than a long range bomber and requested that two MK 103 cannons were mounted. The result was the prototype Ho 229.

Only one example of a Ho 229 V3 was in final phase of assembly at the end of the war, and sent on to the United States by the allies.

The Ho 229 had three prototypes before the facility was overrun.
[[File:FighterImage_Draeger suit from the side.jpeg|thumb|right|Pilot with Draeger suit in Ho 229]]

# '''V1''' was a glider to test the design.
# '''V2''' was a down-scaled prototype fitted with the Jumo 004B.
# '''V3''' was a testbed for serial production, it was however not completely finished when the US Army arrived.

Originally the V3 was intended to have the Jumo 004C jet engines, these weren't ready though and the Me 262 A's 004B was installed. <!--(--~~~~14:12, 22 September 2014 (UTC) B-2, or B-4?).-->
The final production version would have had the ability to load bombs, switch the main armament to four [[MK 108 (30 mm)|MK 108]] and the pilots were to be equipped with the Draeger pressure suit ([[G-Suit]]).
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German motor torpedo gun boat {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.79 "Project X"]] as part of the fleet closed beta test.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Armour}}
<!-- ''Talk about the vehicle's armour. Note the most well-defended and most vulnerable zones, e.g. the ammo magazine. Evaluate the composition of components and assemblies responsible for movement and manoeuvrability. Evaluate the survivability of the primary and secondary armaments separately. If necessary, use a graphical template to show the most well-protected or most vulnerable points in the armour.'' -->
The Albatros' armour is lacklustre and will be only able to withstand low calibre fire and small amounts of explosive fragmentation. The bridge, hull and turrets barely have armour, meaning they will quickly be damaged or even destroyed by 12.7 mm or 20 mm armour-piercing rounds. When it comes to components, it is easy to make ammo explosion in the Albatros as the ammunition is above the waterline. When it comes to air threats (machine gun strafes, rockets, bombs), the Albatros will be able to survive them with some exceptions of bombs. Bombs that land within a 40 m radius of the ship can cause fatal damage (it will also depend on the type of bomb, weight, TNT equivalent, etc).

=== Mobility ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Mobility}}
<!-- ''Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed.'' -->
The Albatros, as a cold war fast attack craft, changes completely the doctrine of previous ships, meaning it compensates armour with speed. It is able to reach speeds above 40 knots (~75 km/h), making it terrifyingly fast for a ship of its with its firepower. It is more than capable of reaching the battlefield faster than other destroyers and will outrun cruisers and battleships. When it comes to manoeuvrability, the Albatros leaves nothing to be desired. It is able to do tight turns (relatively tight turns but with greater speed than other destroyers) as well as accelerate and decelerate quickly.

{{NavalMobility}}

=== Modifications and economy ===
{{Specs-Economy}}

== Armament ==
{{Specs-Fleet-Armaments}}
=== Primary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Primary}}
<!-- ''Provide information about the characteristics of the primary armament. Evaluate their efficacy in battle based on their reload speed, ballistics and the capacity of their shells. Add a link to the main article about the weapon: <code><nowiki>{{main|Weapon name (calibre)}}</nowiki></code>. Broadly describe the ammunition available for the primary armament, and provide recommendations on how to use it and which ammunition to choose.'' -->
{{main|76 mm/62 OTO-Melara Compact (76 mm)}}

The Albatros is armed with the powerful OTO-Melara 76 mm Compact autocannon, the same gun as seen in the [[OTOMATIC]]. They are powerful weapons which will decimate almost every vessel it faces, not only because of the calibre but also because the rate of fire which is doubled as it has two turrets. The autocannons have access to both anti-air and general purpose ammunition, this being HE, HE-VT and SAP. It is recommended to utilize SAP as primary ammunition against everything but aircraft. When it comes to aircraft, HE-VT is recommended due to the proximity fuse. With the use of radar, engaging enemy targets becomes easier than engaging them with eye sight.

=== Additional armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Additional}}
<!-- ''Describe the available additional armaments of the ship: depth charges, mines, torpedoes. Talk about their positions, available ammunition and launch features such as dead zones of torpedoes. If there is no additional armament, remove this section.'' -->
[[File:Type_143_firing_Seal_DM2A1_Torpedoes.png|350px|thumb|{{PAGENAME}} launching its two [[Seal DM2A1 (533 mm)|Seal DM2A1]] torpedoes. Note how they are facing to the rear.]]
{{main|Seal DM2A1 (533 mm)}}

Armament consists of two [[Seal DM2A1 (533 mm)|Seal DM2A1]] torpedoes mounted in tubes on the aft deck. These torpedoes are launched with their tails facing forward. Upon entering the water, they make a tight turn left until coming parallel with the launching ship's original course. They can only be aimed in a forward direction as the tubes are static.

== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the technique of using this ship, the characteristics of her use in a team and tips on strategy. Abstain from writing an entire guide – don't try to provide a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought. Talk about the most dangerous opponents for this vehicle and provide recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of playing with this vehicle in various modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
In Realistic naval battles, the Albatros is a mixed bag. Its high speed makes it great for rushing in to secure capture points and strategic positions at the start of the round. However, the ship lacks in the armour department, and with only 2 main guns, it can get overwhelmed by enemies easily. This ship is best used in a supporting role where its awesome 76 mm OTO-Melara cannons can shred enemy ships while also benefiting from the extra firepower and protection of friendly craft. In a situation where a player finds themselves alone in the Albatros, it's best to use your speed to head toward friendly forces. It can be good in a one-on-one situation, but as soon as another enemy vessel arrives, the Albatros finds itself at a disadvantage. Torpedoes should be used in rush tactics against larger ships, however it's again advised to do so with support from other vessels. One round from a destroyer or cruiser can badly cripple or even outright sink the Albatros.

=== Pros and cons ===

'''Pros:'''

* Good speed to get into great positions before the enemy
* Fast firing 76 mm main armaments that can give even destroyers a run for their money
* Guns are stable at high speeds
* Variable time fuse shells paired with the great guns makes dealing with aircraft easy
* Access to air search and tracking radar

'''Cons:'''

* Lightly armoured
* Small crew size
* Small size means compartments and modules are packed rather tight
* Torpedo tubes are static
* Only two main guns and no secondary armament

The Albatros-class fast attack craft was the replacement ship for the Type 141 Seeadler-class fast attack craft, a derivative of the Type 140 Jaguar fast attack craft. The design and development started in the 1960s and finished design stages in 1966. It was set under production with the first unit being launched and commissioned in 1976.
The Pr. 206is armed with 4 x 1-tube torpedo launchers. With a relatively heavy warhead of 400 kg, these are your main weapon against heavily armoured threats or when attempting attacks at a distance.

The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German utility helicopter {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.83 "Masters of the Sea"]]. A [[SA.313B Alouette II|French design]], the ''Alouette II'' was in West-German service and could carry a multitude of armaments.
<!-- ''Describe how the helicopter behaves in the air. Speed, manoeuvrability, acceleration and allowable loads - these are the most important characteristics of the vehicle.'' -->

The Alouette II is a small, nimble utility helicopter capable of maintaining speeds of 225 km/h and is longitudinally stable above 35 km/h.<!-- needs more testing, estimate only --> The Alouette II design is the only helicopter in the game without some form of SAS mode aside from the [[UH-1 (Family)|Huey family]],<!-- needs link --> however since 1.91 the rotorcraft has the option for co-pilot assistance and since 1.89, autopilot assistance while in ATGM binocular view. The Alouette II is unstable with the default trim settings so it is highly recommended to go through test flight to assign the default trim settings.<!-- needs tutorial article because tihs is a special case and almost all joystick pilots never get a single ground kill until after maybe 10 deaths due to the difficulty in learning to fly this especially with the default trim settings. --> The Alouette II has the lowest retreating blade stall speed starting margin of only 185 km/h however retreating blade stalls can easily be recovered from by pitching up and yawing to the right in joystick mode.<!-- TODO: insert example video | trim from https://youtu.be/SSY1tbRruZk?t=194 -->The Alouette also lacks rotor control authority compared to other helicopters and struggles to get into and maintain efficient gliding due to its tendency to yaw and pitch down with the high drag skeleton tail.

The Alouette II has no armour. However its small size allows it to easily weave through forests to stay hidden and actively dodge ATGMs. However it is highly prone to rotor linkage, engine and fuel tank damage. The Alouette II does not have infrared imaging devices (but it does have an image intensifier) nor a Radar Warning System.<!-- I haven't confirmed if a dead main pilot and an alive co-pilot will allow the vehicle to live. {{main|MG3 (7.62 mm)}}

The '''''{{PAGENAME}}''''' is armed with:

* 4 x 7.62 mm MG3 machine guns (250 rpg = 1,000 total)

The four machine guns are arranged with two above each landing skid. Only the default ammo belt is available. Due to their low calibre, they have limited effectiveness against helicopters and planes, and are almost useless against all but the lightest-armoured ground vehicles. However, they have a high rate of fire (1,200 rpm), which aids damage output at the expense of total firing time.

=== Suspended armament ===
{{Specs-Heli-Suspended}}
<!-- ''Describe the helicopter's suspended armament: additional cannons under the winglets, any bombs, and rockets. Since any helicopter is essentially only a platform for suspended weaponry, this section is significant and deserves your special attention. If there is no suspended weaponry remove this subsection.'' -->
{{main|AS.11}}

The '''''{{PAGENAME}}''''' can be outfitted with the following ordnance:

* 4 x AS.11 missiles

Although few missiles can be carried, they are able to severely damage and destroy enemy tanks. It is important to note that although AS.11 missiles are usable, they are much worse than many missiles carried by other helicopters, and that the Alouette's anti-tank armament is weak in general.

== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in a helicopter, the features of using the helicopter in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
The Alouette doesn't have the power of a conventional helicopter. Being a 1950s helicopter, its engine is very weak compared to its counterparts. Use it at a low altitude and make use of the AS.11 missiles, but beware, the Alouette can only carry 4 of them which is a fairly low amount. Use them wisely. At the start of the battle, just go straight into the air over the ground forces and hunt enemies and pray they don't have SPAA's, or stay low and hidden and snipe enemies. Caution, sometimes there are some other helicopters, but you can solve the problem with AS.11 missiles. Also pray there are no fighters because the Alouette does not have the means to defend itself effectively.

The Alouette's small size makes it highly effective at sneaking zone captures in ground battles. Despite its slow speed, it is still able to get to certain capture zones faster than any ground vehicles in certain domination missions.<!-- domination battles link -->

With joystick controls, it is best to fly the helicopter around 40 to 60 knots as it is stable in that region without SAS / autopilot flight assistance modes however do be aware of the helicopter creeping forward too close to the battlefield. The helicopter is highly susceptible to ATGM hits with SAS / autopilot modes, however it is much easier to fly with those modes active.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list.
'''Pros:'''

* Small airframe
* Small rotor system
* Nimble
* High rate of fire machineguns
* Very stable at moderate to high speeds
* Maintains energy well in turns (joystick)

'''Cons:'''

* Spalling from a single hit tend to knock out the engine and/or rotor linkage system
* AS.11 maximum range is 3.5 km
* Missiles are very slow meaning hitting distant targets (+2 km) can be very hard
* Can only carry 4 ATGMs limiting anti-tank usability
* Very low redline speed limit (275 km/h)
* Very low retreating blade stall mechanic speed limit (starts at 185 km/h and gets difficult to handle above 220 km/h, and is only recoverable with full real joystick controls past 260 km/h)
* Poor early modular research progress rate due to lack of modules in Tier II, resulting in a rather costly 29k RP module that cannot be bypassed

The light, multipurpose, single-engined SA.313B Alouette II (French for "Skylark") helicopter was developed by the French company Sud-Aviation in the 1960s and was widely used both by civilian and military organizations. Many other countries also obtained a license to manufacture these helicopters. In addition to civilian use, this light helicopter has a rich military history. The SA.313B fought wars in Algeria and Rhodesia and took part in several local conflicts. The model's success is demonstrated by the fact that the SA.313B is still being used for civilian purposes and by the militaries of some countries nowadays.

Since the SA.313B was not routinely equipped with weapons, this issue has been resolved directly in the places and countries where the vehicle has been used to fulfil combat objectives. The helicopter's armament has been rather exotic at times, such as when rifles and machine guns have been mounted in the apertures of the glass-enclosed front cabin. For the purposes of the game, we have chosen more well-founded projects for arming the SA.313B implemented by French and German crews. Machine gun installations comprised of four 7.62mm MG3 light machine guns placed in pairs on the skids using special fixtures. As an anti-tank weapon, the helicopter could carry SNEB unguided rockets, as well as SS.11 guided anti-tank missiles that were located on special transverse tube-shaped beams along the sides of the fuselage.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German motor torpedo gun boat {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.79 "Project X"]] as part of the fleet closed beta test.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Armour}}
Don't forget to mention the size of the crew, which plays an important role in fleet mechanics. Save tips on preserving survivability for the "Usage in battles" section. If necessary, use a graphical template to show the most well-protected or most vulnerable points in the armour.'' -->
Armour protection on the MZ1 is almost nonexistent. Other than a 15 mm gun shield on the 88 mm guns, the boat does not have any protection even against smaller calibre guns. To make the matter much worse, at its BR, the MZ1 will face several opponents with either high-calibre guns or autocannons, both of which is a great threat to the ship's survival. On the plus side, however. The MZ1 can take a high amount of crew loss by up to 37 when aced thanks to its fairly large crew count of 52 and its huge, spaced profile.

=== Mobility ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Mobility}}
<!-- ''Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed.'' -->

{{NavalMobility}}

Mobility of the MZ1 is mediocre at best and poor at worst. When stock, the boat has a terrible top speed of only 29 km/h (AB) / 23 km/h (RB) and awful traverse speed (even worse than some motor barges). This, combined with its poor protection, makes the stock MZ1 very frustating to play. After getting a mobility upgrade, the MZ1's top speed is more tolerable and gives more room for evasive manoeuvre.

=== Modifications and economy ===
{{Specs-Economy}}
== Armament ==
{{Specs-Fleet-Armaments}}
=== Primary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Primary}}
{{main|8.8 cm S.K.C/35 (88 mm)}}

The MZ1 is equipped with two 8.8 cm S.K.C/35 cannons placed at the bow and stern. These cannons have relatively quick reload time of 5 seconds, and is quite deadly against lightly-armoured boats with direct hits. The 88 mm cannons have two types ammunition which are largely the same, the only differences being the researchable HEF-I shell is capable of dealing more damage via incendiary fillers and has a higher chance of detonating enemy boat's ammunition racks.

=== Secondary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Secondary}}
<!-- ''Some ships are fitted with weapons of various calibres. Evaluate the secondary armaments and give advice on how to use them. Describe the ammunition available for the secondary armament. Provide recommendations on how to use them and which ammunition to choose. Remember that any anti-air armament, even heavy calibre weapons, belong in the next section. If there is no secondary armament, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|3.7 cm FlaK-Lafette C/36 (37 mm)}}

Secondary armament consists of a single 3.7 cm FlaK cannon mounted at the bridge. This multi-purpose cannon is very useful against most opponents it faces. Due to its high penetration, this cannon is more useful against a well-armoured targets such as Soviet armoured boats. The downside is that it cannot fire backwards because the bridge obstructs its line of fire.

=== Anti-aircraft armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-AA}}
<!-- ''An important part of the ship's armament responsible for air defence. Anti-aircraft armament is defined by the weapon chosen with the control <code>Select anti-aircraft weapons</code>. Talk about the ship's anti-air cannons and machine guns, the number of guns and their positions, their effective range, and about their overall effectiveness – including against surface targets. If there are no anti-aircraft armaments, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|2 cm/65 Flakvierling 38 (20 mm)|2 cm/65 Flakzwilling 38 (20 mm)}}

The MZ1 is equipped with 4 x 2 cm FlaK cannons. These cannons are adequate for fending off incoming aircraft, although it may be more efficient to manually aim the guns yourself instead of leaving it to the AI.

=== Additional armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Additional}}
<!-- ''Describe the available additional armaments of the ship: depth charges, mines, torpedoes. Talk about their positions, available ammunition and launch features such as dead zones of torpedoes. If there is no additional armament, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|G7a (533 mm)|WBD depth charge}}

The MZ1 is equipped with two G7a torpedoes launched from the bow. These torpedoes are powerful enough to destroy most targets in a single hit. However, due to the boat's poor mobility, launching torpedoes can be tricky, especially when you're moving around rocks and small islets.

== Usage in battles ==

The MZ1 is best described as a glass cannon with its slow speed and powerful armaments. The two 88 mm cannon can deal massive damage to anything it hits, however, another effective method to use the ship is to switch to the auxiliary weapon, the 37 mm cannon. The 37 mm has a high rate of fire and can fire hard-hitting shells which will overwhelm both boats and planes. This weapon is best use on coastal vessels and aircraft while destroyers are best dealt with using torpedoes.

The MZ1's biggest weakness is its slow speed compounded with the limited armour. Positioning is key: never advance to a risky area without support. The largest threats to the MZ1 are destroyers which can bombard the vessel and autocannons which can quickly deplete the crew.

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Fairly powerful armament, both large and small calibres
* Torpedoes can knock out most targets in one hit

'''Cons:'''

* Poor top speed and mobility
* Non-existant armour; relies entirely on large crew count for survival
* Very vulnerable against large-calibre HE shells due to its size and speed
* Performs poorly when stock

If necessary, note the specifics of playing with this vehicle in various modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
The M-17 is similar to the M-802 but without the reinforced engine armor or the torpedoes. As with most sub chasers, it's slow and likely won't be the first to the battlefield, but the ship has well armored 105mm main guns with enough fire power to hull break many ships or pen destroyers with base fuze HE in desperate scenarios. Facing destroyers is ill-advised as they have higher caliber guns in larger quantity.

This ship should be used long range to allow for more time to react to smaller vessels as well as the torpedoes as the slow speed of this ship makes it a torpedo magnet. In a pinch, the vessel can litter a capture point in mines, albeit they require a lot of skill and patience to use and often act as an extra ammo rack

To counter this vessel, the most vulnerable place is the bow where the ammo rack is. A single bomb or torpedo there is guaranteed to sink the vessel. Alternatively, a more risky option is baiting the ship to overshoot, then get close, and drop depth charges. The safest option would be swarming the M-17 as multiple ships at different flanks will overwhelm the ship easily.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list.
'''Pros:'''

* Heavy hitting main armament can one shot many coastal vessels
* Coastal spawn allows the vehicle to face small vessels
* Fast reload
* High survivability
* Can carry many mines

*

'''Cons:'''

* Sluggish speed makes this ship vulnerable to torpedoes
* Outgunned by destroyers
* Massive target
* Low caliber AA is ineffective at long ranges
If necessary, note the specifics of playing with this vehicle in various modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
The Krischan der Große is a slow boat. The 88 mm HE round can knock out small motorboats with a single shot and the dual 20 mm quad mounts provide plenty of firepower to the rear and broadsides. As it is a wooden boat, taking fire from anything bigger than .50 cal MGs will make short work of the crew, therefore captains must be cautious. Closing with the enemy is never a good idea. Instead, use the cover of islands and take advantage of friendlies drawing fire. This can allow you to get some quick kills with the 88 mm gun. One of the worst enemies for the Krischan are the light AA barges. They can rain fire down from 2 km with their 20 mm cannons arcing fire over islands and other obstacles, absolutely shredding your crew. The boat handles fine in still water but targeting guns in heavy swells can be a challenge as the boat severely rocks in even moderate seas.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list.
'''Pros:'''

* 20mm AA can ward off aircraft
* 37mm with rapid fire can destroy any plane and small boat quickly
* 88m is hard hitting with timed fuze shells
* Large crew size

*

'''Cons:'''

* Weak armor often results in quick deaths to heavy MGs and autocannons
* 20mms have a blind spot on the low front. Aircraft diving low can bomb the ship if the 37mm doesn't shoot it down
* Armament placement means switching between armaments when flanked from the rear

*
=== [[wt:en/news/7439-development-flusi-1-the-gun-nut-en|Devblog]] ===
As part of the ongoing planning efforts for Operation Sea Lion - the German invasion of Great Britain - the Reich Air Ministry ordered the construction of a prototype anti-aircraft boat in 1940. Envisioned as a compact and simple vessel, the design was to provide cover for landing troops during the invasion as well as protect the coastal areas of the Netherlands and France from low flying aircraft. Hastily developed, the vessel was laid down in Autumn 1940 in Rotterdam, receiving the name "Flusi 1" and subsequently entering service in November 1942.

Soon after commissioning however, the drawbacks of its poorly thought out design became apparent. Namely, the vessel's anti-air weapons weren't fit for use in rough waters due to a lack of stabilization and its aircraft petrol engines were unable to moor at low speeds. As a result, the design was generally disliked and no mass-production order was issued, despite original plans for constructing around 100 units.

Despite continuing service throughout the war, Flusi 1 never took part in any active combat operations. The vessel was later on sunk during an Allied air raid west of Amsterdam in February 1944, ending its brief service career.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German motor torpedo gun boat {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.79 "Project X"]] as part of the fleet closed beta test.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Armour}}

=== Mobility ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Mobility}}
<!-- ''Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed.'' -->

{{NavalMobility}}

Mobility of the MZ1 is mediocre at best and poor at worst. When stock, the boat has a terrible top speed of only 29 km/h (AB) / 23 km/h (RB) and awful traverse speed (even worse than some motor barges). This, combined with its poor protection, makes the stock MZ1 very fraustating to play. After getting a mobility upgrade, the MZ1's top speed is more tolerable and gives more room for evasive manoeuvre.

=== Modifications and economy ===
{{Specs-Economy}}

== Armament ==
{{Specs-Fleet-Armaments}}
=== Primary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Primary}}
{{main|8.8 cm S.K.C/35 (88 mm)}}

=== Secondary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Secondary}}
<!-- ''Some ships are fitted with weapons of various calibres. Secondary armaments are defined as weapons chosen with the control <code>Select secondary weapon</code>.
{{main|3.7 cm FlaK-Lafette C/36 (37 mm)}}

=== Anti-aircraft armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-AA}}
{{main|2 cm/65 Flakvierling 38 (20 mm)|2 cm/65 Flakzwilling 38 (20 mm)}}

The MZ1 is equipped with 4 x 2 cm FlaK cannons. These cannons are adequate for fending off incoming aircraft, although it may be more efficient to manually aim the guns yourself instead of leaving it to the AI.

=== Additional armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Additional}}
<!-- ''Describe the available additional armaments of the ship: depth charges, mines, torpedoes. Talk about their positions, available ammunition and launch features such as dead zones of torpedoes. If there is no additional armament, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|G7a (533 mm)|WBD depth charge}}

The MZ1 is equipped with two G7a torpedoes launched from the bow. These torpedoes are powerful enough to destroy most targets in a single hit. However, due to the boat's poor mobility, launching torpedoes can be tricky, especially when you're moving around rocks and small islets.

== Usage in battles ==

The MZ1 is best described as a glass cannon with it's slow speed and powerful armaments. The two 88mm cannon can deal massive damage to anything it hits, however, a strangely effective method to use the ship is to switch to the auxiliary weapon, the 37mm cannon. This 37mm is faster than the Krischan Der Große and can spam hard hitting shells which will overwhelm both boats and planes. Do note the weapon is best use on coastal vessels and aircraft. Destroyers are best dealt with using torpedoes.

The MZ1's biggest weakness is it's slow speed compounded with the low armor. Positioning is key, never advance to a risky area without support. The largest threats to the MZ1 are destroyers which can bombard the vessel and autocannons which can quickly deplete the crew.

=== Pros and cons ===

'''Pros:'''
* Fairly powerful armament, both large and small calibres
* With some micromanagement skill, it can effectively engage multiple targets at once
* Torpedoes can knock out most targets in one hit

'''Cons:'''
* Poor top speed and mobility
* Non-existant armour; relies entirely on large crew count for survival
* Very vulnerable against large-calibre HE shells due to its size and speed
* Performs poorly when stock
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Soviet fighter {{Battle-rating}}. This aircraft was introduced in [[Update 1.33]].

== General info ==
Like the other LaGG-3 models, the 3-11 has the advantage of an extremely low BR and cannon armament. The top speed is comparatively high when put against planes such as the [[P-36G]] or [[Ki-43-II]]. The climb rate is also quite good, attributed to the high max speed and acceleration. However, the turn rate and elevator are extremely poor. Energy fighting is a must when it comes to the LaGG-3.

Since the LaGG-3 has cannon armament, a 2-4 second burst is all that is needed to shred an enemy plane. Use Ground Target belts for the best effect with both the ShVAK and Berezin UB.
Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->

The LaGG-3-11 is best use as a multirole fighter with a good climb rate, making boom and zoom a viable tactic, but turn fighting can help when facing less nimble aircraft. The armaments are nose mounted and fewer in number than most counterparts, making this plane less beginner friendly. Accuracy and trigger discipline are more important as there won't be much rounds when pulling the trigger, but when the rounds hit, it deals effective damage.

In ground realistic battles, the FAB-100 bombs are a good choice to take out tanks and should be prioritized over rockets. At this plane's BR, the bombs will be more than enough to take out a tank or two. Using the vehicle's climb speed after bombing is preferable to scout the battlefield for unsuspecting aircraft. Boom and zoom is the best tactic to catch most aircraft off guard.

The LaGG-3-11 was a Soviet fighter aircraft of World War II. It was one of the most modern aircraft available to the Soviet Air Force at the time of Germany's invasion in 1941. The plane was produced 1941–1944 and first took flight 28 March 1940. Approximately 6,528 LaGG-3-11's were made, and designed by V. P. Gorbunov.

=== In-game description ===
As a result of further work on transforming the LaGG from a "pure" fighter into a light attack aircraft, the LaGG 3 Series 11 appeared at the turn of 1941–1942. It had missile equipment and DZ-40 bomb racks for two bombs weighing up to 100 kg.

To reduce the plane's weight and finally increase its flight characteristics to acceptable levels, the series 11 completely lacked outboard fuel tanks, sacrificing flight range for speed. Suspended fuel tanks were intended for use when necessary, but in practice, they were only installed on a small batch of fighters made for the navy.

The following bombs could be suspended on the DZ-40 bomb racks underneath the wing: FAB-50 and FAB-100 general-purpose bombs, AO-25 fragmenting bombs and VAP-6M aerial spray instruments. These bomb racks could also carry ZAP-6 incendiary aerial instruments containing 38 liters of incendiary fuel each, or PSB-100 suspended fuel tanks containing up to 100 liters of gasoline.

RO-82 launchers for RS-82 rockets were also installed under the wing. The standard design allowed for the installation of six RO-82 launchers. Combat units armed the LaGG-3 with rockets themselves, so the number of rockets varied between four to eight RS-82 rockets.

Several planes were equipped with RO-132 rocket launchers instead of the RO-82, in order to launch the more powerful RS-132 rockets.

The LaGG-3 Series 11 went into production at the end of 1941. The first LaGG-3 Series 11 fighter-bombers took part in combat in the final stage of the Battle of Moscow, on the Kalinin front. Use of the LaGG-3 as a fighter-bomber and attack aircraft was relatively successful, as the LaGG-3 planes demonstrated higher combat survivability than other types of fighters.

Later on, the LaGG-3 Series 11 was replaced by the Series 23 in manufacturing facilities. The Series 23 was practically identical to the Series 11 and had the same combat characteristics. Their production continued from the end of the winter of 1942 to the summer of 1942 and was the peak period of LaGG-3 fighter manufacturing in terms of quantity.

If necessary, use a graphical template to show the most well-protected or most vulnerable points in the armour.'' -->

The S-100, like most low tier ships, has limited armour protection. The bridge is protected by 12 mm of hardened armour and the two rear turrets are similarly defended. None of the other components of the ship, such as the engines and fuel tanks, are protected.

=== Anti-aircraft armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-AA}}
<!-- ''An important part of the ship's armament responsible for air defence. If there are no anti-aircraft armaments, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|MG 15 (7.92 mm)}}

One machine gun is mounted on either side of the bridge. Because of this, they have very limited traverse and are mostly ineffective against aircraft. However, they do have a high rate of fire.

=== Additional armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Additional}}
<!-- ''Describe the available additional armaments of the ship: depth charges, mines, torpedoes. Talk about their positions, available ammunition and launch features such as dead zones of torpedoes. If there is no additional armament, remove this section.'' -->
{{main|G7a (533 mm)|EMF mine}}

The torpedo tubes are fixed to the hull of the ship so torpedoes must be aimed by changing the direction of the vessel. They have a maximum speed of 81 km/h.

== Usage in battles ==
The S-100 shares the same hull and playstyle as the S-38b. The key differences is the 3,7 cm auxiliary weapon and the limited AA firing angle. Although, it's tempting to, turning broadside to use the center-mounted dual cannons is ill advised in most cases as the hull is fragile. Using speed to deliver surprise attacks and flanking lone enemies is advisable, but never attack an group when outnumbered. More brave captains may find the S-100 an effective destroyer hunter with this ship's high speed and effective torpedoes

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Slightly faster than the S-38b when fully upgraded with same mobility
* Excellent fast firing cannons with double ammo capacity compared to it's predecessor
* 3,7 cm cannon makes for an amazing AA
* Great torpedoes with convenient firing angle and excellent damage

*

'''Cons:'''

* AA have limited firing angles and ineffective armament
* Minimal hull protection

*
== Description ==
<!-- ''In the first part of the description, cover the history of the ship's creation and military application. In the second part, tell the reader about using this ship in the game. Add a screenshot: if a beginner player has a hard time remembering vehicles by name, a picture will help them identify the ship in question.'' -->
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German anti-air ferry {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.79 "Project X"]] in the fleet closed beta test.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Armour}}
Don't forget to mention the size of the crew, which plays an important role in fleet mechanics. Save tips on preserving survivability for the "Usage in battles" section. If necessary, use a graphical template to show the most well-protected or most vulnerable points in the armour.'' -->

The SF40 Heavy has the following armour layout:

* 2 cm/65 C/38 automatic cannon gunshields: 8 mm, hardened armour
* 8,8 cm Flak.36 cannon gunshield: 8 mm, antifragmentation armour
* Deckhouse: 10 mm, rolled homogeneous armour
* Hull: 8 mm, steel
* Superstructure: 20 mm, steel

The SF40 Heavy's armour is basically same as [[SF40 Leichte]] with changes around guns. It lacks armoured turret platforms so guns taken out with HE shells might occur more often. Besides armour, the SF40 Heavy can be a tough opponent to sink since most HE shots will hit the deck with no damage to the hull. Also, the rather high crew complement of 47 (5 more then Leichte) makes it harder to incapacitate by killing crew, though this is still the easiest way to take out this barge. Clever captains will try to angle the ship to allow aiming 3 guns on enemy targets, but this also makes the opposing ship able to hit only one of the four ammo storages. Even though this storage is high above the waterline, hitting it doesn't happen often since the bridge in the center is a way easier target to aim at.

=== Mobility ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Mobility}}
<!-- ''Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed.'' -->
The SF40 Heavy's top speed is terrible. At 28 km/h (Arcade) / 22 km/h (Realistic) when fully upgraded, it might take several minutes for it to reach its destination. Always watch out for enemy PT boats and their torpedoes as they are the greatest threat to the SF40 Heavy's survival.

=== Modifications and economy ===
{{Specs-Economy}}

== Armament ==
{{Specs-Fleet-Armaments}}
=== Primary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Primary}}
{{main|Flak.36 (88 mm)}}

The 8.8 cm FlaK guns mounted on the SF40 Heavy have a good reload rate, accuracy and muzzle velocity thus making it easy to aim and control. The access to distance-fuse high-explosive shells and an elevation up to 85° degrees is very effective against big attackers and bombers flying high and slow. The reload rate also makes the SF40 a really dangerous opponent. However, these guns can be quite clunky against fast PT boats due to their relatively slow traverse speed.

=== Secondary armament ===
{{Specs-Fleet-Secondary}}
<!-- ''Some ships are fitted with weapons of various calibres. Secondary armaments are defined as weapons chosen with the control <code>Select secondary weapon</code>.
{{main|2 cm/65 C/38 (20 mm)}}

The 20 mm multi-purpose cannons with a fire rate of 480 rounds/min is very effective against small boats and lightly armoured ships as well as planes in close combat thus making the SF 40 also effective against light and fast naval and air targets.

== Usage in battles ==

''Because of its very slow speed, the SF40 Heavy will never be first to action in battle. Going full speed ahead, it can still take several minutes to reach the capture points on even small maps. How well the SF40 Heavy does in the battle depends not on how many enemies it can find, but rather how many enemies happen to run into it. To maximize this, the SF40 Heavy should be sailed towards the center of action on every map right from spawn, whether that be capture points or likely paths that enemy boats may take. Here, the SF40 Heavy can leverage its high survivability and overwhelm its opponents with firepower.''

''The 88 mm Flakvierling 36 cannons are an amazing main armament, able to destroy any coastal fleet vehicle with one or two hits. When using this vehicle, accuracy and patience are the two most important traits for survivability as evident by the slow top speed limiting the overall action. Many faster vessels with cannons can evade or quickly get behind cover, the SF40 Heavy is essentially a pinata for weapons like [[Bofors L/60 Mark 1 (40 mm)]] or large-calibre cannons (3-inch or larger). Boats armed with these can comfortably sit outside the SF40 Heavy's range and gradually chip away at the crew. This is even further accentuated when faced with destroyers, since they carry much larger guns and are generally unaffected by the SF40 Heavy's own 88 mm cannons (albeit you would still be able to kill their crew off by aiming at their superstructure).''

''The SF40 Heavy is best angled in such a way that three of four turrets are on target at once to maximize damage. At the same time, though, it should be angled as little as possible. This not only shows as little of the side and as possible, but it also allows the middle of the three Flakvierling 36's to block the line-of-sight to the deckhouse. Protecting the deckhouse is vital because it contains roughly half of the available crew. However, if it has already been destroyed, angling like this is no longer so important. The other major weakness is the ammo racks, which cannot be removed by taking less ammunition. Close-range enemies on the side are a big threat, since here, it is easiest to hit the ammo racks, especially when taking advantage of the hit cam. Though ammo rack destruction is quite rare in practice, a knowledgeable enemy player can still quickly eliminate the SF40 Heavy with this method. Aside from these points, survivability of the SF40 Heavy tends to be very high because of its size and large crew complement.''

''Enemy MTB torpedoes can be a threat, but only if launched at close-range, where the SF40 Heavy won't be able to evade in time. In this respect, long-range torpedo attacks aren't much of an issue, provided that they are spotted early enough. Even if torpedoes cannot be completely avoided, it should be noted that torpedoes can pass under the centre of the SF40 Light if necessary, between the two pontoons. Comparatively, greater threats are aerial torpedoes and rockets, guided bombs like [[PC 1400 X (1,400 kg)|Fritz X]], and large bombs like [[H.C. 4,000 lb Mk.II (4,000 lb)]] or [[FAB-5000 (5,000 kg)]]. Because of the SF40 Heavy's large size and slow movement, it makes for a prime target, while the SF40 Light's sluggishness may make evasion of these entirely impossible. Enemy aircraft should be prioritized.''

==== ''Ammunition Choices'' ====
''The primary ammunition choice of the 88mm Flakvierling 38 is the 8,8cm sprgr. L/4,5 Zt.Z times HE. This shell is commonly found on destroyers, but works spectacularly on this vehicle. The only difference stat-wise is the fuse which is set off when the shell reaches the target's range. This allows the shell to potentially explode over the target and cause some shrapnel damage or perhaps even shoot down aircraft in the hands of an experienced marksman. Be wary the lack of AP makes it difficult for the player to effectively counter destroyers.''

''For the 20 mm Flakvierling 38 guns, 20 mm HET magazines should be the primary ammunition choice, since it contains the highest ratio of HE to AP rounds and, thus, is the most effective against enemy boats and aircraft. The maximum range of the HE rounds is roughly 2.0 km, while the AP rounds can reach a little further to 2.3 km, though there isn't much point in using the 20 mm APT magazines for this purpose. Still, several 20 mm APT magazines should for the occasional armoued targets.''

==== ''Enemies worth noting:'' ====

* ''Various destroyers ([[Leopard]], [[USS Barker]], [[Frunze]]): due to its BR, the SF40 Heavy will face early destroyers with high-caliber guns which can be very deadly. Furthermore, the SF40 Heavy will be occasionally pitted in a larger maps that will further worsen its range and speed disadvantage, especially in encounter/conquest mode where you will be pretty much useless as everyone can outrange you. However, in a smaller map in domination mode, the SF40 Heavy's range and speed problem is somewhat negligible as everyone is closer to each other and that the larger vessels have to navigate through shallow waters to capture the base and bring themselves into your effective range of fire.''

=== Pros and cons ===

'''Pros:'''

* Powerful 88 mm guns can destroy a target with just 1 or 2 hits
* Can take quite a few hits
* Velocity and flat trajectory of shells makes it suitable to hang back and snipe enemies from >2 km

'''Cons:'''

* Not very fast or manoeuvrable
* Large target
* Lacks an AP shell for dealing with armoured targets.
* The 37 mm fast firing flak on the SF40 Leichte is replaced by two single 20 mm mounts
* Hard to get all 4 cannons on target
* Easy to torpedo or dive bomb due to its size and sluggishness
* Lacks a VT-fuze shell, only has timed and impact fuses

== History ==
The Siebelfähre was designed by Friedrich Siebel, owner of a lesser-known German aircraft manufacturing company bearing his name. Siebel's idea was to provide the German army with a much needed easily mass-produced and effective transport vessel for the planned invasion of Britain.

His ferry would be a construction utilising parts of Bailey bridges and pontoons, which would make up the two barges connected in a catamaran style by a wooden deck. The vessel was supposed to be powered by aircraft engines and could easily be disassembled and reassembled thanks to its modular construction, allowing for the boat to also be transported by land.

The idea was met with great enthusiasm from the German military, and an order for 400 of this ferrycraft soon followed. The order encompassed more than just one version of the vessel, however. For instance, some versions were specialised to perform anti-air duties and were meant to cover the landing troops from air attacks. These were equipped with light 20mm and 37mm AA guns up to the heavy FlaK 88mm cannon, depending on the version.

However, before all 400 vessels could be made, the Invasion of Britain was cancelled, and thus the need for the Siebelfähre also disappeared below the waves. Nonetheless, around 200 of these vessels were still made before the order was cancelled and a majority of them found use in transport and mine-laying operations in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. The Siebelfähre saw use right up to the end of the war, and some vessels continued serving well into the 1960s as civilian ferries.
With the Schrage Musik cannons, the Bf 110 G-4 can adapt to a new way of bomber hunting by flying under the bomber and using the vertical cannons to clip the wings or pilot snipe from the bottom. Keep in mind some bombers have ball gunners. Daring players may use the Schrage Musik for ground strafing by flying inverted. Players familiar with the Bf 110 will understand boom and zoom tactics are best used. Be wary of dogfights or large clusters of enemies.
