The key to staying alive in the La-7 series lies in using evasion and deception to destroy the enemy. Start by flying at around 4.5 km altitude as you present yourself as an easy target for Boom &amp;amp; Zoom aircraft that are flying at higher altitudes. Maintain a high energy level/speed (conserve your energy as well). When you spot someone diving at you, break off and evade his burst, and then chase him and return your own bursts, or, if he turns, engage in turning combat. Watch your opponent, however. [[Spitfire (Family)|Spitfire (Griffons)]] can, for the most part, out-turn a La-7 while other planes such as the [[Fw 190 (Family)|Fw 190 D]] are far inferior at turning. It is possible to force overshoots on Spitfires by going into scissors. Acceleration on this plane is excellent at low-medium altitude (below 3 km where WEP still works). Additionally, the La-7 can be an effective mid-alt Boom and Zoom / energy fighter - when most opponents have been destroyed and the rest are engaging below you, the La-7, with its effective climb rate as well as acceleration/energy retention, can be unstoppable.&lt;br /&gt;

One habit you have to take to heart is aiming strategies/skill. The 2 cowling-mounted ShVAKs are quite ineffective in side-on approaches as well as longer range fire due to the fact that there is little spread to the cannons and low damage and hit detection compared to comparable 20 mm cannons such as the Hispano and MG-151. The low spread allows for greater damage upon hitting your opponent - if used correctly, the cannons can be extremely lethal. &lt;br /&gt;

Another habit worth developing in the La-7 is ammo conservation, it is crucial to only take shots that you know will hit and aiming them carefully. This way you stand a bigger chance of critically damaging the enemy aeroplane. The aircraft is placed quite low in the [[BR|Battle Rating]] spread, which means that you will still engage [[:Category:Third_rank_aircraft|rank III aircraft]]. Do not underestimate them. If flown up to their respective strengths, planes such as the [[Bf 109 G-2]] and [[Spitfire Mk Vc]] are superior to the La-7. The strengths of both La-7 variants lie in very good low altitude performance - ideally, you want to engage your enemies at altitudes lower than 5 km - higher up, the power output of the engine reduces drastically, making you an easy target. Aside from the speed, the La-7 possesses very good turning capabilities - while it is not as good a turner as some British and Japanese designs, it can give many German and US aircraft a run for their money.&lt;br /&gt;

The concept of a new fighter for the Soviet Air Force was pitched in 1943. While the earlier Lavochkin La-5 proved to be one of the best Soviet fighters produced up to that point, the main designer of the [[La-5FN|La-5]], Semyon Lavochkin, felt that it could be improved even further. Work on a completely new fighter began in the early months of 1944. The new fighter was supposed to be an improved version of the La-5 design. The changes included the incorporation of a lighter and more durable metal airframe in place of the earlier wooden one. Other changes included the mounting of a new gun sight and propeller, as well as the strengthening of the landing gear struts and streamlining of the wings. It was to be armed with three Berezin B-20 20 mm cannons, however, the delay in production meant that most new La-7s were armed with 2 x 20 mm ShVAK cannons, like its predecessor. After more tests, the new fighter was accepted into serial production in late 1944.&lt;br /&gt;

In September 1944, the first La-7s found their way onto the front lines with the 63rd Guard Fighter Aviation Corps. The reception of the new fighter was warm - it was faster and more manoeuvrable than the La-5, which meant it could more efficiently tackle the most common German fighter the Soviets faced: the Messerschmitt [[Bf 109 G-6|Bf 109 G]]. In certain circumstances, the speed allowed the Soviet pilots to intercept [[Fw 190 F-8|Fw 190 fighter-bombers]] - a feat impossible to achieve for other Soviet fighters like the [[Yak-3]]. The main critiques of the design were considered to be the engine reliability and armament - the twin 20 mm ShVAK cannons were judged as inadequate in fights against better armoured Fw 190s. Still, the La-7 became one of the most successful Soviet piston fighters of World War II. Soviet ace Ivan Kozhedub scored 17 kills while flying the La-7 - his last one being an [[Me 262 A-1a|Me 262]] jet. After the war, the La-7 was replaced by the La-9 prop fighter, although many were still used by other communist states as both fighters and trainer aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;

The experimental high-altitude fighter/interceptor I-225 was created in the Mikoyan design bureau as part of work to develop new prototypes of fighter aircraft with new engines. The Mikoyan/Gurevich aircraft company, already successful with the high altitude MiG-3, took on the challenge to develop the fighter. The I-225 was an improvement on the earlier I-220; compared to its predecessor the 225 featured a pressurized cockpit, a cut down rear fuselage, and 4 synchronized 20mm cannons firing through the propeller. The all metal aircraft flew for the first time on the 21st of July, 1944. On August 2nd of the same year, the plane hit 707kmh at an altitude of 8500 meters. During the 15th flight, the aircraft's engine seized at an altitude of 15 meters and was deemed irreparable. &lt;br /&gt;

The second prototype and its tests were delayed until March 14th, 1945. The second I-225 was fitted with the AM-42-FB, an improvement on the first prototype's engine. This second prototype reached a speed of 726 kmh, one of the fastest speeds reached by any Soviet aircraft. &lt;br /&gt;

By the time of the I-225 the Germans had ceased high altitude operations rendering the existence of the plane largely unnecessary. However, development on high altitude aircraft continued thanks to the possibility of the Soviets going to war with the Western powers, who possessed heavy bombers that could operate well outside the effective operational altitudes of Soviet piston engined planes.  &lt;br /&gt;

The T-62 is the first entry in the new stage of Soviet MBTs that most Soviet Tankers will research. As usual with soviet MBTs, only the turret has armour to speak of. Do not let this put you off as the T-62's 115mm U-5TS is able to perform exceptionally even with 10.0 BR tanks. In fact, the U-5TS has more penetration than what comes after it, the T-55A, making a lot of players fall back to it (not to mention you lose the cool shell dump animation!). This comes at the cost of slightly slower reload time of 12.0s (9.2s if maxed crew), which is a little below average for it's BR. All in all, the T-62 will give Soviet Tankers a general idea of how to play upcoming MBTs, as the playstyle doesn't change much. &lt;br /&gt;

The biggest downside of playing Arcade is the fact that you have to face Soviet vehicles, which have the most armour around tier you will be fighting and can be annoying to fight.&lt;br /&gt;

In Arcade, it's advised to go to sniping positions at the beginning of the match, and later move closer to the objectives to aid your team with clean-up or with a counter-push to secure objectives. Now, due to the small sizes of maps in Arcade, it sometimes works to drive straight into the open and try to hit an enemy exiting their spawn (something that is easy to do with the stabilizer and is a great way to get the &amp;quot;First Blow!&amp;quot; award). If not possible, then it's advised to go to one side of the map and occupy a sniping position (e.g. the hills on the Middle East, South spawn; or the rocks overlooking the sands of El Alamein, either spawn; or rocks around Alaska, either spawn; etc.).&lt;br /&gt;

Use the speed it offers to get the advantage of the terrain. Use the vegetation of the map to an advantage. Be patient. Be cautious about walls, fences, and objects on the terrain - These will slow the tank down if they are run over and/or hit. It is important not to let the enemy team spot the T114. Stealth is the key. Wait for the enemy tank to appear and for it to expose its side. Calculate the distance and drop of the HEAT round before firing. If calculated successfully, either the enemy tank will be knocked-out or it have sustained major critical damage such as a loss of a crew or gun breech. If it has sustained critical damage, fire another shot into the opposite area of the tank to knock it out. It is very important to aim and knock out the gunner and/or turret crew. Even if the tank was hit and sustained critical damage, if the turret crew was not knocked out and main cannon was inoperable, the machine gun will still be able to penetrate the T114's armour since it has only 32 mm of thickness on the sides and rear with the turret at 38 mm while the front has 44 mm.&lt;br /&gt;

In the early 1950s, the US Army started work on developing a new generation of lightly armoured vehicles, such as APCs. General Motor's Cadillac division proposed two versions of their T114 armoured vehicle to support infantry and anti-tank battalions, respectively. One version would to be armed with a single high caliber machine gun in a full rotatable turret, which would support the infantry battalions, whilst the other would be equipped with a 106mm recoilless gun, serving among the ranks of anti-tank battalions. Use the terrain and vegetation on the map to get close then engage the enemy in an ambush. The T114 will be able to one-shot most tanks if clever with shot placement since it is only equipped with &amp;quot;HEAT&amp;quot;. The T114 has a three round magazine for the 106 mm gun, so if the first shot fail to hit, another two can be shot off within few seconds. However, the reload of the magazine will depend heavily on the [[Crew_skills#Ground_vehicles_crew_skills|crew skills]] .&lt;br /&gt;

The mobility of this vehicle is average to good with very responsive handling at speed.  It has a good cross country speed on terrain of around 32-50 km/h (20-25 mph). In the early 1950s, the US Army started work on developing a new generation of lightly armoured vehicles, such as APCs. General Motor's Cadillac division proposed two versions of their T114 armoured vehicle to support infantry and anti-tank battalions, respectively. One version would to be armed with a single high caliber machine gun in a full rotatable turret, which would support the infantry battalions, whilst the other would be equipped with a 106mm recoilless gun, serving among the ranks of anti-tank battalions.
