Hello,

I've got a question about vehicle stats (be it price or economy): where does the wiki get the data from? For example the economy: there is the template Specs-Economy, which then uses #unit:#var:me to get the data from. But I do not get how this exactly works and where that data is ultimately stored. My guess unit:var:me means that the unit is variable and the term "me" is refererring to the page name.

I am considering making a side project for WT which would require getting all SL/RP/GE costs for all vehicles ... and typing that by hand is a bit much for ~ 2,000 vehicles, especially if one would have to redo this everytime Gaijin makes a major update or tweaks the economy. == Description ==

The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a premium gift rank {{Specs|rank}} Soviet light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was available as a prize during the [[wt:en/news/3480-en|2015 Thunder League]] as a giveaway prize for watching the Twitch stream, later every Dog-Tag owner who voted for Team Dislike earned one due to the "Champion" prize. It can now only be obtained via the [[War Thunder Market]].

The RBT-5 is a regular [[BT-5]] with mounts on the side of the turret to hold two 250 kg TT-250 "tank torpedo" rockets. These large calibre rockets are hard to aim as they're angled upwards but can destroy almost anything it hits.

This tank is quite unique. It has virtually no armour, weights only 11,5 tons and has a massive 400 HP engine (442 HP fully upgraded), giving it up to a 38 HP/Ton ratio. This paired with excellent Christie suspension allows it to drive like a race car among tanks. Gun is an adequate 45 mm 20-K cannon with decent penetration and quick reload.

Do remember: the RBT-5's two rockets are quite apart from each other, and that should be taken into account when aiming. The first rocket to be fired is the one on the left side of the turret.

== Usage in battles ==

The RBT-5 is really flexible when it comes to usage, as it has great mobility and firepower, which is pretty much all you need for a good tank. Given its great 53 km/h top speed, it is good to use the RBT-5 as a point-capping tank at the start of the match. It is better to travel on-road to fully utilise its speed to get to the point before the enemies do. Another good tactic is to manoeuvre to the flank of the frontline/point and attack from the side. Its speed makes it possible to go the furthest with the shortest time, surprising the enemies.

Once capped, the player can either quickly ambush behind a nearby cover waiting for the enemy to re-cap it, or just drive around the battlefield and help the teammates. Its 70 mm penetration and 29 g TNT will one-shot pretty much anything around its BR. If not, the 3 seconds reload allows it to finish them off easily. A sudden, close encounter is a hard test to the player's skills because the RBT-5 isn't very good at turning as its tracks are quite long and narrow. Its turret traverse of around 11 deg/sec is certainly not the best. Thus those two factors can sometimes cause the death of the RBT-5 so the player must respond fast and accurate.

* [[Pz.II (Disambiguation)|Pz.IIs]]: Although not as fast as the RBT-5, the Pz.IIs still have an average speed of around 40km/h. Also, they are equipped with a deadly 20 mm autocannon that will punch holes on the RBT-5 with ease, and their rate of fire can quickly kill multiple crew. The RBT-5 has thin armour protecting only 3 crew, making it extremely vulnerable to those autocannons.

* [[Sd.Kfz.234/2|Sd.Kfz.234 series]]: These wheeled vehicles all have scary on-road speeds of more than 60 km/h, so in any map, with roads connecting to the points they can always get there first and set up an ambush. However, these vehicles are wheeled meaning they cannot turn in place, they are rather sluggish when trying to turn, and they have either slow turret traverse or no turret at all so the player can use this to their advantage. Wiggle/circle around them to avoid their guns and force them to turn, then aim carefully and immobile them. Note that the DT machine gun on the RBT-5 only has 10 mm penetration at most, making it almost impossible to go through their armour and kill any crew, so don't think of destroying these wheeled tanks with the MG.

Therefore if America is on the other side the player might want to change their tactic and not to rush the point since low tier battles are always filled with fast tanks. The M8 has a roof-mounted .50 cal MG which easily tears the RBT-5's armour apart and kills the crew inside. Also, most of them have a vertical stabiliser that works at low speed, so avoid firing on the move with them.

* [[B1 bis]]: A heavily armoured tank for its BR, but do not panic when you see it. Don't fire at a distance unless you are directly aiming at its side armour. The best option is to try and get as close to it as possible (point-blank range is ideal) and shoot straight at its side. However sometimes due to a variety of reasons the player might be unable to flank it and has to face it frontally. If that is the case, shoot the rather vertical driver's compartment and there's a great chance of penetration, killing the driver and the commander (which is also the gunner for the turret). Or, shoot between the two guns on the turret to kill the commander/gunner. Or, shoot at the near-vertical part of the curved gun mantlet of the big gun.

Like most US fighters, the P-26B-35 Peashooter is a decent Energy fighter even though its high lift creates unstable diving characteristics. Despite being a monoplane, the P-26 is not the fastest reserve fighter. In most regards the P-26B will be outmatched by enemy fighters; for example, the Japanese [[Ki-10 (Family)|Ki-10s]] will not only turn circles around the P-26B, but will out-climb it and out-run it too. However, the slow German [[He 51 (Family)|He 51]] makes an easy target for a P-26B.

Unlike the [[P-26A-34 M2]], the P-26B-35 does not have a 12.7 mm M2 Browning heavy machine gun. Both fighters are available at the same time and identical in all other regards.

== History ==

The Boeing P-26 Peashooter was a plane both ahead of its time and quickly made obsolete. First flown in 1932, the P-26 is the oldest plane in the game. It was one of the first all-metal monoplanes adopted into military service in 1933 (in comparison, the He 51 and Ki-10 entered service in 1935), making it one of the fastest fighters in the world at the time, but it suffered from poor flight performance and dangerous landing characteristics. However, as newer fighters entered service around the world, the P-26s advantages diminished and its disadvantages became vulnerabilities. By the time of World War Two, the P-26 was hopelessly obsolete.

The P-26 saw the most of its combat serving in the Chinese Nationalist Air Force during the Second Sino-Japanese War, against Japanese Ki-10s, and notably A5Ms in some of the first all-metal monoplane dogfights. Although it performed admirably in the pursuit role (bomber interception), in air-to-air combat with Japanese fighters, the deficiencies of the model showed.

In US service, the P-26 had a similar record. During the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, the P-26s scored only a handful of air-to-air kills against Japanese attackers. On December 24, 1941, their crews burnt the remaining planes to prevent their capture. Of the one hundred and fifty-one built, only nine airworthy P-26s remained by Christmas 1941, a single squadron defending the Panama Canal Zone, which was removed from service shortly after.

In addition to the P-26Аs they had already received, the USAAC ordered 25 more fighters. Two of them were designated P-26В (Model 266A). These aircraft were equipped with 600 hp Pratt & Whitney R-1340-33 nine-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engines.

At first, landing flaps were mounted on the aircraft. Externally, these machines differed from the Р-26А in the absence of a carburettor air scoop and in the modified design of their exhaust pipes and the tail wheel. But in other respects, P-26B fighters were identical to the late variants of the P-26A. Both planes were test-flown in June 1935 and then handed over to the USAAC.

It was planned that all 25 aircraft would be built as P-26Вs, but Pratt & Whitney Company was not able to supply R-1340-33 fuel-injected engines. So, 23 machines of the P-26C variant were produced and equipped with Pratt & Whitney R-1340-27 engines, with minor modifications to the fuel system and the carburettor. The first P-26Сs were delivered to the troops in early 1936.

After a year in service, the P-26С planes were equipped with R-1340-33 fuel-injected engines and brought up to the P-26В's standard. They then obtained the update designation.

The P-26 became the first monoplane – and the first all-metal fighter – accepted for service with the USAAC. At the same time, it was the last American fighter with external wing braces, an open cockpit and a non-retractable landing gear system. The Peashooter became the last fighter built on a full-scale basis by Boeing Company.

The P-26 was not in service with the USAAC for very long. After the new P-35 and P-36 fighters were accepted into service, P-26 aircraft were withdrawn from the front lines. At the beginning of the Pacific War, P-26 fighters remained at US military bases on the Hawaiian Islands and in the area around the Panama Canal. 12 planes were handed over to the Philippine Air Force, which was in the process of forming. It was these aircraft that participated in combat operations in December 1941, and they were completely destroyed by the Japanese. The P-26 was officially withdrawn from service in early 1942.

The La-15 is a special jet, it lies somewhere in the middle of the 8.0 jets due to its wings being incredibly weak for the engine it possesses and is one of the few planes that can break its wings clean off in level flight. However, due to the battle rating and the speeds that jet combat is usually fought at, you shouldn't need to rely on your top speed: The La-15 can be classed as an underestimated jet, relying on it's a performance at slow speeds (700 kph - 300 kph) to win battles of manoeuvrability.

The best way to counter the Sabre is to attack it when it is at its most vulnerable position (low on energy, or damaged) or force it into a low-speed manoeuvring fight. Do not try to engage an F-86/CL-13A Sabre in any high-speed manoeuvres or any high-speed dogfighting in general as the Sabre will come out on top. In any low-speed manoeuvers, the Sabre will lose to the La-15 in any manoeuvering engagements.

The Meteor is another main rival of the La-15 as the La-15 can meet the Meteor at any time from being down-tiered to up-tiered. While the La-15 can outrun and out climb early variants of the Meteors, the later variants are far harder to outrun and outclimb as they can easily catch the La-15. The best way to deal with Meteors is to apply boom and zoom tactics, but do remember a skilled Meteor pilot will have no issue avoiding a La-15 that is attacking with boom and zoom tactics. Avoid any manoeuvring fights with any variant of the Meteor as they will outmanoeuvre you with no issues at all.

====Counter-tactics====

The La-15 has, at best, a speed limit of 1000 km/h. Be aware of this and, if possible, try to out dive or outrun the La-15, as it can break its wings easily in a dive and in level flight. ==Introduction==
In [[Update 1.55 "Royal Armour"]], we introduced the new game mechanic - '''Battle Tasks''', these individual tasks bring variety into the gameplay and prevent situations when all the players in a battle try to complete one certain tasks ignoring mission objectives needed for a victory. [[Update 1.71 "New E.R.A"]] made big improvements in the way Battle tasks work.

This is why every day a player will be given several random tasks of various difficulty levels. The more difficult the task is, the higher the reward.

==How do tasks work?==
Battle tasks are freely available to players with Rank III vehicles in a little menu on the right side of the [[Hangar_user_interface|hanger user interface]], under the "Events & Tournaments" tab. Battle tasks are cycled daily and each day, the player are able to fulfill two battle tasks.

===Daily tasks===
Daily battle tasks come in two levels of difficulty and in different game modes. Initially, two battle tasks are given for air force and ground force each, with unique tasks between [[#Game_modes#Arcade_Battles|Arcade mode]] and [[:Category:Game_modes#Realistic_Battles|Realistic mode]] (there are no tasks for Simulator mode) for a total of four unique battle tasks. These tasks can be fulfilled with vehicles between Rank II to VI. Once these are finished, a new set of battle tasks appear in the same fashion, four total between the game modes and vehicle choices. These are slightly harder and require vehicles between Rank III to VI to be fulfilled.

The first completed task will reward the player with 1,000 silver lions and 50 war bonds, though there is one specific task that gives 75 war bonds. The second completed task will reward the player with 2,000 silver lions and 100 war bonds, with one specific task giving 150 war bonds. Thus, a maximum of 3,000 silver lions and 225 war bonds can be earned each day.

Daily tasks typically reset every 22 hours.

If the suggested Battle Task is disliked by the player, it can be change for a designated amount of [[Silver Lions]]. The more often the task is changed, the more Silver Lions it will cost. After a specific number of changes in a day, the change will then charge for [[Golden_Eagles|Golden Eagles]] only - so choose carefully.

===Special tasks===
Special tasks are what the name suggest, they are special tasks which can be unlocked by receiving the required war bonds to purchase them from the [[Daily_missions#War_bond_shop|War bond shop]]. They cost 30 war bonds. Special tasks operate in the same way as war bonds - However special tasks are very strict on the requirements. Some tasks may only be restricted to certain ranks and units, so caution must be taken to prevent earning an unwinnable special task. Once special tasks are bought from the Warbond shop, a choice will be provided between four different special tasks like the daily tasks, two for ground forces and air forces between Arcade and Realistic game modes. Please see the shop interface below on how to change and select them.

Special tasks will reward the player with a battle trophy for universal back ups.

To check the progress of the daily task, simply look at the task icon that, as stated earlier, will be on the right side of the hangar user interface right under the "Events & Tournaments" tab. This will show a simplified version of a progression, such as the numbers completed compared to the numbers needed. Clicking on that tab icon will open up another tab in-game, which is the task menu. It will then display the progress of that task in more details along with the requirements needed.

To check the progression of special tasks, the player must go into the task menu and a small tab on top of the menu will be labeled for "Special Tasks".

Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to view the task progression while in the middle of a match.

====Claiming a completed task====
Once the task has been completed, you will notice a gold filled box with a green tick on the task. A large blue rectangular box will also show "Get Reward". Click this box in order to obtain the task completion reward of silver lions and war bonds, the latter of which will be used in the war bond shop.

Do note that unless the player performs this action, the task will remain unclaimed and thus any attempted progress at other tasks will not be counted. As soon as a task is completed, it should be claimed as soon as possible to not waste any possible progress on war bonds, medals, and the store levels!

War bonds will accumulate in the balance up to a maximum of 3,600. When the game detects that a reward will cause the balance to exceed the maximum, it will notify the player that accepting the excess reward will cause the extras to be deleted to fit in the maximum storage.

With completion of special tasks, the player will be rewarded the "special task medals" that allows the player to access more option in the war bond shop such as test drives, decals, decorations, and premium vehicles!

To see the history of the war bonds completed, press the "History tab" to get a log of recent tasks completed and their rewards.

==War bond shop==
The ''War bond shop'' is where players spend their well-earned war bonds on various in-game equipment such as universal back ups, boosters, test drives, decals, decorations, and even premium vehicles. It is also where players go to activate the special tasks.

Compared to the Update 1.55 implementation, the war bond overhaul reinvented the way the war bond shop works in conjunction with the tasks. Aside from the war bond amount that must be obtained, special task medals and shop levels are considered in the options for sale for the player.

===Special task medals===
Special task medals are obtained by completing special tasks that are purchasable from the war bond shop. Specific items in the war bond shop require certain numbers of special task medals to be bought:

* Test drives - x1 medal
* Decals & decorations - x3 medal
* Premium & gift vehicles - x12 medal
* Battle trophy (vehicle) - x14 medal

To start collecting medals, one must start a special task. It is the first selection in the war bond shop on the top left corner with an icon of a circular symbol with a star in the middle with wings sprouting from the back. These cost 30 war bonds to start. To make sure the player is committed, the game will prompt the player on a confirmation for the purchase (see image called "Task confirmation: Purchase" on the left)

Once the special war bond task has been purchased. it will then ask the player to select one of the tasks to commit towards (see image called "Special Task: Selection" on the right). Four tasks will be available, two for ground and air forces each for arcade and realistic mode, just like the regular daily tasks. Only one can be chosen, so the player must ensure they are in possession of the vehicles that meet the task requirements.

Completing the special task will then open a battle trophy and grant the special medal task. If the player picks a task that is too hard or impossible to complete, it can be changed just like the daily task with the golden rectangular box labeled "Change task". Instead of a random selection like the daily tasks, this action will bring up the special task selection screen again to freely pick a single special task to commit towards.

This will be the conditions for successfully completing the task, and getting you one step closer to upgrading the war bond shop! If a task is to hard, it can also be changed in the same way as conventional war bonds, for a sum of golden eagles or sliver lions - If the task has to be changed, it will pop up with a new screen, in a new selection window. This screen will show a list of tasks, which it can be now be changed to.

Shop levels is another requirement certain items in the shop need before being bought. The state of the shop level can be seen on the bottom of the task menu and the shop interface as seen here:
