The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a gift rank {{Specs|rank}} French medium tank {{Battle-rating}}. This medium tank was introduced in [[Update 1.75 "La Résistance"]]. It combines the turret of the amx-13 (BR 6.0) with the hull of the M4A1 sherman (BR 3.3) and therefore epitomizes the glass cannon role at a BR of 4.7.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
The armor is generally inadequate for BR 4.7, as it uses the M4A1 chassis from 3.3. Turret shots will typically knock out your breech and kill the two crew there, hull shots will typically send you right back to the hangar.

=== Mobility ===
Fairly decent mobility due to the sherman chassis with an upgraded engine. Flanking is possible and rewarding.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: <code><nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki></code>. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''

The gun is fantastic, capable of penetrating everything in its BR spread (3.7-5.7) frontally, except for some higher BR German casemates and the Sherman Jumbo. The autoloader enables firing every 5 seconds, even with only a skeleton crew left.

=== Additional armament ===
''Some tanks are armed with several guns in one or more turrets. Evaluate the additional weaponry and give advice on its use. Describe the ammunition available for additional weaponry. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage. If there is no additional weaponry remove this subsection.''

=== Machine guns ===
''Offensive and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight some aircraft but also are effective against lightly armoured vehicles. Evaluate machine guns and give recommendations on its use.''

== Usage in battles ==
<!--''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).''-->
Depending on the layout of the map, match battle rating and player's own playstyle the FL10 can be used as a sniper, a flanker or a close-quarter brawler. Details about playstyles are as follows:

;Sniper

*Using FL10 as a sniper is a conservative, but commonly rewarding playstyle. The FL10 boasts a highly potent 76 mm cannon, with an equally impressive round, capable of penetrating 180+ mm of steel equivalent. Given the fast reload of the cannon due to the use of the autoloader, it is possible to perform quick follow-up shots on target at range. This tactic is recommended in matches where it is possible to position oneself in a good position early in the match (e.g. overlooking a point). Be wary of the gun's average depression, however, as this will require to expose the hull during firing.

;Flanker

*Depending on your knowledge of the map and likely enemy routes, FL10 can be effectively used as a flanker. The FL10 inherits a relatively mobile chassis of an M4 medium tank making some flanking maneuvres possible. In this role, FL10 can be used to assume an ambush position on the flanks. It is important to note, that FL10 is not the most agile vehicle at its battle rating, however, provided a good early-game position, fast reload and good penetration it can effectively engage an enemy from the flanks and counter enemy flankers. It is advised to retreat immediately if you're spotted as FL10 is unlikely to withstand being fired upon due to mediocre armour and 4 crew members.

;Brawler

*Using FL10 as a close-quarter brawler is a high risk/high reward tactic that is likely to result in either multiple kills or an early return to the hangar. It is important to fire the first shot on the enemy, as, given the poor armour of the tank, you are commonly unable to withstand even one hit. Here, it is advised to disable the enemy's gun/turret first to prevent them from returning fire. It is important to note, that FL10 lacks the stabiliser found on the American Sherman counterparts, putting the player at a further disadvantage when fighting in close quarters.

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Good penetration and excellent rate of fire
* Improved engine makes for decent mobility
* Smoke grenades
* The best shell is free (like many later French tanks)

'''Cons:'''

* Lackluster reverse speed; disengaging from the fight if damaged or out of ammunition can be difficult
* Oscillating turret means that from a full stop, the M4A1 (FL10) usually takes longer to level the gun compared to conventional turrets
* Poor turret elevation makes engaging aeroplanes difficult
* Vulnerable to .50 cal ground target belts through the turret roof armor
* Poor armor and only 4 crew

* The best shell is free (like many later French tanks)

'''Cons:'''

* Lackluster reverse speed; disengaging from the fight if damaged or out of ammunition can be difficult
* Oscillating turret means that from a full stop, the M4A1 (FL10) usually takes longer to level the gun compared to conventional turrets
* Poor turret elevation makes engaging aeroplanes difficult
* Vulnerable to .50 cal ground target belts through the turret roof armor
* Poor armor and only 4 crew

The '''{{specs|name}}''' ('''''A'''telier de Construction d'Issy-les-'''M'''oulineau'''x''', char de '''13''' t, '''d'''éfense '''c'''ontre '''a'''vions, canon de '''40''' mm'': Issy-les-Moulineaux construction bureau, 13 ton tank, anti-air defense, 40 mm gun) is a Rank {{specs|rank}} French self-propelled anti-aircraft gun {{Battle-rating|1}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.75 "La Résistance"]]. It is a clear improvement to its predecessor in all domains, combining two good things to make them even better: the [[AMX-13]]'s chassis and an improved [[Bofors (40 mm)|Bofors]] cannon (The 40 mm Mle 51 T1 cannon is a French version of the usual 40mm Bofors AA gun).

An [[AMX-13]] chassis, a classic of French post-war technology has been modified to fit SPAA role. This specific chassis has some variants over the usual ones : an enlarged turret ring and with it some extra storage boxes, both extend sideways over the tracks. This tank is quite recognizable for its large box-shaped turret over its chassis.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!--''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat?''

''If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.''-->
This tank has 20 mm of armour, all around, barely angled but for the UFP, this won't protect it from antitank rounds nor from autocannon fire but it can certainly deflect poorly-aimed HMG bursts, but not for too long. If taking too long bursts (or if the enemy gets too close), some bullets may find their way through the two ''large holes'' in the turret front, near the gun area (there is also two smaller holes in the turret's back). In sum, this tank's armour is not to be trusted with, but it will save you from stray bullets and medium to long range MG/HMG fire.
=== Mobility ===
<!--''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.''-->
French ground forces commanders should be used to the AMX-13 chassis as it is also the basis for the only rank III French light tank. With its turret being a little bit heavier and its engine 31 hp less powerful, this tank is slower than the usual [[AMX-13]]. It can still carry its user wherever it wants, as long as the situation does not require fast escape maneuvers: with only -6 km/h backwards, it is hard to retreat fast enough.
{{main|Mle51 T1 (40 mm)}}

The gun is this vehicle's main appeal. Being twice as fast-firing as its predecessor makes it easier to get planes down, but you will still have to aim. As for engaging tanks, with up to 93 mm max penetration, you will start to struggle firing at most enemies since their frontal armour is strong enough to block most incoming 40 mm rounds, though with some precision, medium tanks and even heavy tanks can fall victim to your gun. The real fun with this autocannon lies in shredding light tanks and SPAAs with 4-rounds bursts.
== Usage in battles ==
<!--''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).''-->
This SPAA is quite versatile as it can take down both tanks and planes with mitigated efficiency. It has an auto-cannon that does not fires fast enough to engage planes efficiently nor does it penetrates enough to shred tanks. As it is, this SPAA is good for front line use: providing cover for incoming ground attackers to its allies while also securing flanks from fast-movers.

Good at engaging both tanks and planes, its versatile belts allows this vehicle to switch roles in a split second. In the right hands, in a downtier, this spaa is an absolute monster, easily capable of ace matches against tanks.

'''SPAA use:'''

Pre-aim your gun in the predicted direction of your target: the DCA-40 has a bit of a slow turret traverse for an SPAA. It is easier to aim at targets coming towards you: stay with your team and fire when the plane is ~500 m away: an hitting round will shred it in no time. Any other SPAA tactics apply normally to this vehicle.

'''Front-line use:'''

''Do not'' engage tanks frontally: prefer lateral engagements, surprise your foes. If it happens that the enemy team is composed of medium/light tanks, there is a great chance that you can get some kills from them, be sure to have an escape route as any tank noticing you counters those flanking maneuvers. Heavy tanks at this BR are usually very hard to get trough, even from the side, engage only at risk.

With that in mind, at close range, you can penetrate all American tanks up to 6.7 BR through the lower side armor, and all German tanks up to 6.0 through the side armor (Tiger IIs can be killed through very specific weakspots (rear turret ring), but not reliably). Tiger Is are difficult to face, and require you to be within knife-fighting range, but can be penetrated reliably through unangled side/rear shots to the hull or turret.. All sherman and panther variants are easy pickings from the side, even at range, with early shermans easily penetrated through the front as well. Russian tanks are a bit problematic due to the sloped armor. Against T-34s, aim at the turret sides or turret ring and against KVs, aim at the lower side hull. The IS series is unfortunately only penetrable through the rear engine deck, but are the only ground vehicles in the enire 3.7-5.7 BR spread that cannot be easily killed.

It's worth mentioning that in a downtier against axis powers, you can penetrate every vehicle you see ''from the front'' except for some German casemates. In an uptier, if you must engage a heavily armored tank from the front, several well placed shots to the cannon barrel will knock it out, and enable you to flank at your leisure and feast on their side armor. A more conservative way to play is to stay a few meters behind the front-line and spot flanking tanks while also watching the skies.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!--''Summarize and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".''-->
'''Pros:'''

* Good top speed, and decent agility
* Fast reload (unnoticeable reload)
* Fires ''twice'' as fast as its predecessor (240 rpm)
* Shells have a higher velocity compared to the standard Bofors 40mm, making it easier to find hits
* Shells have amazing penetration for their BR
* Fast elevation speed
* +85° elevation angle
* Wide tracks for such a light chassis
* UFP sloped at 67° may bounce some shots
* 5 mm thick turret basket act as leg protection for the crew (from HMG fire)
* Often one-shots planes
* Each belt has both HE-T and AP-T ammo inside (great for multipurpose roles)
* Decent reverse speed
* Gun is hard to overheat
* If only loading approximately 50% ammo, shots to the right side of the turret will kill one crew member and do no other damage

'''Cons:'''

* Turret is literally an ammo rack
* Bad gun depression
* Loader is exposed to MG fire
* No coaxial armament
* Struggles to reach its top speed
* Vulnerable to HMG fire
* Fairly low fire rate, making it difficult to hit planes (but
* Most enemies that it faces are no longer vulnerable to side shots
* Slow turret rotation
* Turret prone to ammo-racking from strafing planes

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

''Hull:''

* Hull has extra 4 mm boxes in some places.
* Extra 15 mm from tracks and wheel on the upper front plate.
* Tracks are 15 mm thick.

=== Mobility ===
{{main|Mle51 T1 (40 mm)}}

Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought.

It's worth mentioning that in a downtier against axis powers, you can penetrate every tank you see ''from the front'' except for some German casemates.

=== Pros and cons ===

* Fast reload (unnoticeable reload)
* Fires ''twice'' as fast as its predecessor (240 rpm)
* Shells have a higher velocity compared to the standard Bofors 40mm, making it easier to find hits
* Shells have amazing penetration for their BR
* Fast elevation speed
* +85° elevation angle
* Wide tracks for such a light chassis
* UFP sloped at 67° may bounce some shots
* 5 mm thick turret basket act as leg protection for the crew (from HMG fire)
* Often one-shots planes
* Each belt has both HE-T and AP-T ammo inside (great for multipurpose roles)
* Decent reverse speed
* Gun is hard to overheat
* If only loading approximately 50% ammo, shots to the right side of the turret will kill one crew member and do no other damage

'''Cons:'''

* Turret is literally an ammo rack
* Bad gun depression
* Loader is exposed to MG fire
* No coaxial armament
* Struggles to reach its top speed
* Vulnerable to HMG fire
* Fairly low fire rate, making it difficult to hit planes (but
* Most enemies that it faces are no longer vulnerable to side shots
* Slow turret rotation
* Turret prone to ammo-racking from strafing planes

The '''{{specs|name}}''' is a Rank {{specs|rank}} French light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.75 "La Résistance"]]. The AMX-13's chassis is the mainstay of France's light tank technology for the post-war period and this one is its most iconic iteration as it is mounted with the FL10 turret. This vehicle is one of the best light tank at its BR, capable of fulfilling many roles on the battlefield.

The AMX-13 series has one of the most distinctive looks of all armoured warfare's history as it combines many unusual design choices. First, this tank does not feature a "classical" layout: engine deck is next to the driver and the turret ring is at the rear of the tank's hull. Speaking of turrets, this tank has an oscillating one, which means that both gun and turret armour are welded together and that the whole assembly has to rotate to elevate the gun. This way of mounting allows the placement of an autoloader mechanism in the ''long'' turret bulge. As for its size, it is very small.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

Even though this tank has unimpressive armour values, its sloped profile will protect it from autocannon fire (with some distance, even the [[Bofors (40 mm)|Bofors]] can't go through this tank). Any dedicated antitank gun/missile/contraption will go right through this tank's armour. While this may sound a bit bad "getting easily pierced" also has its advantages: some APHE rounds will not detonate upon impact, which will minimise the damage done. If you happen to get shot at, the best way to survive is by showing your right front corner towards the enemy, this way, the engine deck may catch some shells. Don't ever rely on this tank's armour, take every shot you survive as a second chance.

{{main|SA50 (75 mm)}}

Well-positioned, this gun can make your enemies cry: with its quick firing rate it is "one-two, goodbye" for any foe caught from the sides/rear. In usual one-on-one engagements, foes usually exchange shots but, with the AMX-13, this is a lie: it can fire ''twice'' before its foe can reload, this can hurt very much. This high rate of fire makes it very efficient at long-distance sniping: it can adjust fire faster than its foes.

High gun placement and good gun depression angles make this tank very efficient at keeping low behind hills while showing very little of itself. Said shortly, this tank's armament is amazing.
== Usage in battles ==
The AMX-13 is a very competitive tank as it can reach tricky positions quite fast on the battlefield. Its low profile allows it to hide behind many obstacles, serving as armour for this light vehicle. Keeping hull-down, behind a hill on the border of the map is the best way to use this tank: frontal engagements are a no-go with such little armour. AMX-13 commanders will be surprised to be able to shoot ''1 round every 6 seconds'' with such accuracy and power at this BR.

'''Long range sniper/flanker:'''
Stay low and scout targets for your team. When spotting a vulnerable enemy, shoot its engine/transmission/driver, '''don't get back into cover''' and finish it off 6 second later, only then, fade back into the shadows. Do not get out of cover too often as enemies too much aware of your position may destroy you easily. If spotted, stay ''as far as possible'' from enemy fire: this tank's small size can avoid a lot of shots since it takes some serious gunnery skills to hit such a fast ''and'' small target from a distance (1000+ m).

'''Brawler:'''
Even though this is not recommended usage, this can tank actually be taken in close quarter combat. In this role, it behaves much like any SPAA in the same context: flanking and surprising its foes from the sides with an hailstorm of bullets. Use smoke launchers in order to secure roads and advance concealed towards unsuspecting foes.

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Can reach its top speed quite fast
* '''Awesome''' reload rate: '''1 shot every 5 seconds''', comparable to most ''rank 1'' reload times
* Gun performance is comparable to the British [[Ordnance QF 17-pounder (76 mm)|QF 17-pounder]]'s solid shots.
* '''12 round''' autoloader mechanism.
* Has smoke launchers (high ark of fire)
* Good gun depression value
* Fast turret rotation
* Thin armour will often not detonate APHE ammo.
* Low profile
* High gun placement make hull-down positions very efficient
* Stock shell is quite good, although the upgraded shell is a strict improvement
* Frontally resistant to some SPAA fire (ostwind and M19)
* Has '''Scouting'''

'''Cons:'''

* Bad reverse speed for a light tank
* Gun penetration subpar in uptiers: relies heavily on flanking maneuvers
* Thin sides will get shredded by SPAAs and HMGs
* Poor gun elevation value
* Lacks defensive armament against aircraft
* Thin top armour: vulnerable to strafing planes (can be penetrated by .50 cals with ground target belts at typical strafing ranges)
* Bad at stop-and-shoot due to oscillating turret design
* Only 3 crew members

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

With 28 HP/ton, this tank's engine allows for fast accelerations and good, sustained, top speed, it will never let you down. Run this vehicle around the battlefield as you wish, deserting points to find other ones to fire from.
== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!--''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''-->
{{main|SA50 (75 mm)}}

<!--''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought.

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Can reach its top speed quite fast
* '''Awesome''' reload rate: '''1 shot every 5 seconds''', comparable to most ''rank 1'' reload times
* Gun performance is comparable to the British [[Ordnance QF 17-pounder (76 mm)|QF 17-pounder]]'s solid shots.
* '''12 round''' autoloader mechanism.
* Has smoke launchers (high ark of fire)
* Good gun depression value
* Fast turret rotation
* Thin armour will often not detonate APHE ammo.
* Low profile
* High gun placement make hull-down positions very efficient
* Stock shell is quite good, although the upgraded shell is a strict improvement
* Frontally resistant to SPAA fire (ostwind and M19)
* Has '''Scouting'''

'''Cons:'''

* Bad reverse speed for a light tank
* Gun penetration subpar in uptiers: relies heavily on flanking maneuvers
* Thin sides will get shredded by SPAAs and HMGs
* Poor gun elevation value
* Lacks defensive armament against aircraft
* Thin top armour: vulnerable to strafing planes
* Bad at stop-and-shoot due to oscillating turret design
* Only 3 crew members

The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German medium tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.77 "Advancing Storm"]].

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!--''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat?''-->
The Leopard 2K is one of the most thinly armoured MBT in the German tree, having only 50 mm of actual thickness and 144 mm of effective thickness upper frontal plate and actual 59 mm with an effective thickness of 118 mm for its lower frontal plate. Thin armour would tend to cause concern for the tanker, however, much of this is negated due to the angles in the armour. For survivability, it is almost comparable to the T-64s but without blowing up, playing this tank is a 50/50.

=== Mobility ===
<!--''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability as well as the maximum speed forward and backwards.''-->
The Mobility of the Leopard 2K is astonishing, making it one of the most agile MBTs in its BR, reaching the speed of 70km/h on road.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!--''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''-->
The Leopard 2Ks gun is a 120 mm Rheinmetall L44 It can be found on the later models of the tank, such as the Leopard 2A4, and Leopard 2A5. But this does not mean it gets all of the later rounds, the rounds that the Leopard 2K gets is a DM12 and DM13 just like the Leopard A1A1 L/44. Being fitted with a 120 mm Rheinmetall gun it is effective at all ranges, capable of Penetrating tanks 1,000 m away

=== Additional armament and machine guns ===
<!--''Some tanks are armed with several guns in one or more turrets. Evaluate the additional weaponry and give advice on its use. Describe the ammunition available for additional weaponry. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage. If there is no additional weaponry remove this subsection.''-->
The tank has a 20 mm anti-aircraft gun which can be used to knock out Gun Barrels, Light Tanks, Helicopters and Planes. The belts are alternating AP-IT/HEF-IT, with 47 mm of penetration at 90 degrees at 0 m. The 20 mm has quite good elevation, and rotates independently from the turret, able to surprise light tanks attempting to flank following turret ring immobilization. There is an additional coaxial 7.7 mm.

== Usage in battles ==
As mentioned earlier, the Leopard 2K is very agile, well equipped and thinly armoured. Overall the tank fits well into both flanker and sniper roles. The mobility of the tank can take you to places where the enemy will not expect a tank to be in such a short period of time. It is not a good idea to lead the advance or brawl because of the lack of armour on this vehicle, and it's best to instead let the well-armoured tanks take the lead. This tank is just an M18, but has a good gun and is even faster if you utilize its speed, doing so will allow for potential domination of the matches

=== Pros and cons ===
<!--''Summarize and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - they have a substitution in the form of softer "inadequate", "effective".''-->

'''Pros:'''

* 120mm gun with effective rounds
* Sloped armour has a tendency to bounce shots
* 20mm cannon very effective against light armour and aircraft
* Excellent mobility
* APFSDS is a tier 1 modification

'''Cons:'''

* Thin armour, ineffective if angles and cover not utilized
* Slow reload time relative to tanks with smaller guns or autoloaders
* Stock round is Heat-fs, and struggles against allied vehicles

== History ==
<!--''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. In the 1960s, Germany and the United States were jointly-developing the MBT-70, and Germany was contractually prevented from developing any new MBTs independently until the joint project with the US was completed.

But development problems plagued the MBT-70 project, and it appeared that the vehicle would not be finished within an acceptable time frame—so Germany found a way to bypass contractual limitations for the MBT-70 development.

Instead of ordering the development of a new tank, the German government issued an order to the Porsche company to research ways to improve the Leopard I tank already in service with the German army. This enabled Germany to research a more advanced fighting vehicle without breaching the contract signed with the US.

Porsche’s first study of the Leopard I revealed a lot of room for improvement, and second study focusing on upgrading the Leopard I to match the MBT-70’s firepower was launched almost immediately. This eventually resulted in the construction of two prototype vehicles—one in 1969 and one in 1970—nicknamed Keiler (tusker).

In the early 1970s, Germany was able to back out of the MBT-70 project due to spiraling development costs. Instead, they continued work on the development of the Keiler, which was renamed to Leopard 2.

The Leopard 2 project was expected to yield two versions: the Leopard 2K armed with a cannon, and the Leopard 2FK armed with a gun/launcher similar to the MBT-70. In 1971, ten prototypes were ordered, and seven more orders followed shortly thereafter.

To get the most out of their prototypes, German engineers equipped each one with different components to determine what worked best. Some Leopard 2 versions were equipped with a 105mm smoothbore cannon, whereas others were fitted with 120mm smoothbore cannons. Some prototypes received a hydraulic suspension while others didn’t, and there was even a version equipped with the 20mm anti-air mount on the turret (similar to the one found on the Kpz-70).

Sixteen out of seventeen Leopard 2 prototypes were built and tested, yielding many refinements to the Leopard 2 design. Subsequent models further increased the Leopard 2’s capabilities, with each variant making it more powerful—and ultimately into the Leopard 2 known today.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' (shortened to '''{{Specs|pseudonym}}''', English translated as: ''Argentine Medium Tank'') is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German light tanks {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.81 "The Valkyries"]]. It's arguably the best 8.7 that germany has to offer, with slightly better mobility than the A1A1 and the ability to scout. The minimal armor and hullbreak detract from it though. Similar to the A1A1, it shares a horrible stock grind against the hordes of new 8.7 premiums, but holds its own very nicely once APFSDS is unlocked.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

The armour is composed of welded steel, providing protection up to 32 mm.

The front can defend against 12.7 mm machine gun ammo, but the side armour is only proof against standard machine guns of 7.62 mm. However, most enemies that can be faced will usually have a 12.7 mm machine gun or larger in their possession, making it so even a burst of bullets could riddle the TAM with holes. With this in mind, take caution when flanking a tank with a disabled gun to get a side shot, as you can easily lose a few crew members to mg fire. This becomes less of an issue after unlocking APFSDS, when side shots are rarely as necessary.

The TAM also is hull-breakable, and so rounds that hit have a chance of instantly destroying the vehicle.

=== Mobility ===
<!--''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability as well as the maximum speed forward and backwards.''-->
Mobility is not bad, with a max of 70 km/h on the road in both forward and reverse. Off-road mobility is quite average, especially on flat terrain, but there is a poor steering response.

== Usage in battles ==
The TAM could be played as an assassin, scout, or as a support vehicle on the battlefield. This variety of role is capable due to the powerful 105 mm cannon with an ammunition variety akin to the [[Leopard A1A1]], at the same time the thin armour prohibits any head-on combat which encourages fighting behind the front lines or from the flanks. Keep an eye out as an enemy that can be faced will be able to destroy the TAM if they so much as get a bead on with their armaments.

The best way to use the TAM is to exploit the scouting ability to mark enemies on the map, then call in friendlies to do the heavy fighting against them. While the team keeps the enemy busy, take pot shots with the 105 mm to also pick off the enemy as their attention is diverted from the TAM.

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Decent firepower
* Faster and more manoeuvrable than the Begliatpanzer 57
* It has all kind of shells for different situations or to destroy all kind of tanks
* Unlike other tanks, the gun doesn't bounce at high speed
* The mounted turret has great depression, very good for shooting choppers and planes
* Little armour makes AP shots to pass through the tank without dealing much damage
* Very fast turret rotation and aiming
* Turret is on the back, won't need to expose all the tank to shoot from cover
* First ammo rack has more than enough shells for a battle
* Cheap repair cost

'''Cons:'''

* Very thin armour providing little to no protection
* Ammunition price is quite high (APFSDS shells are 600 Silver Lions each)
* Impossible to depress the gun when facing backwards
* Hard stock grind
* Turret is on the back, at some situations you will have to expose the whole tank to shoot
* Unlike other German tanks, {{PAGENAME}} does not have a great zoom capability (just x8.00)

== History ==
<!--''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. During the 1960s, Argentina was looking far and wide for offers to update its ageing fleet of WW2-era tanks. After obtaining some vehicles, the U.S. refused to make further vehicle sales. This forced Argentina to shift their attention towards the European market, resulting in the purchase of a number of French AMX-13s and its variants.

In 1973 however, the Ministry of Defense drew up a set of requirements for a completely new combat vehicle that would be produced domestically and would to enter service by 1980. Despite knowing what they wanted, Argentinian engineers lacked the technical know-how in order to actually design and produce such a vehicle. Faced with this problem, the Argentinian government sought collaboration with a foreign company in order to design and build the vehicle they wanted. Eventually, a contracted was signed with the German Thyssen-Henschel company, a joint development effort soon ensued.

The TAM (Tanque Argentino Mediano, eng: Argentinian Medium Tank), as it would be designated, was based off the German Marder IFV and equipped with a modification of the British, the Royal Ordnance L7A3 cannon that was produced in Germany. The first two prototypes of the TAM were built in 1976 and 1977 respectively and underwent extensive testing over the course of two years.

After successfully passing testing, the TAM was put into mass production in 1979. The vehicles were armed with FMK.4 Modelo 1L cannons, which was a domestic licensed copy of the original German cannon. The government ordered 200 vehicles of the IFV variant. However, economic difficulties resulted in the order being only partially fulfilled before production was restarted later on. Argentina was also very keen on exporting the TAM to other countries, but despite interest and some contracts being signed, the TAM was never widely exported for various reasons.

A total of around 280 TAMs were built and most of them still serve in the Argentinian army, albeit with upgraded equipment. The TAM was never deployed in any combat operations to this date.
{{break}}

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

The TAM also is hull-breakable, and so rounds that hit have a chance of instantly destroying the vehicle.

=== Mobility ===

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!--''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. == Usage in battles ==

=== Pros and cons ===
'''Pros:'''

* Decent firepower
* Cheap repair cost

'''Cons:'''

* Very thin armour providing little to no protection
* Ammunition price is quite high (APFSDS shells are 600 Silver Lions each)
* Impossible to depress the gun when facing backwards
* Hard stock grind
* Turret is on the back, at some situations you will have to expose the whole tank to shoot
* Unlike other German tanks, {{PAGENAME}} does not have a great zoom capability (just x8.00)

== History ==
<!--''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to an article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: <nowiki>https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History</nowiki>) and add a link to it here using the <code>main</code> template.
