{{Break}}
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!-- ''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.'' -->
The Pvkv II shares the same hull as the [[Strv m/41 S-II|Strv m/41]], and thus the hull armour is identical. While adequate for the light tank, the armour is no longer sufficient against the considerably greater firepower that the Pvkv II faces.

It also features a massive open-top turret that is very thinly armoured and very vulnerable to even heavy machine guns. The turret, and vehicle in general, is rather cramped, thus a penetrating hit usually results in critical damage to multiple modules and crew members.

Aircraft are also a very dangerous threat, as even light machine guns will shred the crew through the open roof.

=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 234|rbMinHp= 146}}

Being based on the Strv m/41, the Pvkv II's mobility is somewhat poorer due to the massive turret and heavy gun mounted. The reverse speed is also quite poor, at ony 5 km/h. It is thus a relatively clumsy and unwieldy vehicle to drive.

Due to the relatively high center of gravity, care must also be taken not to allow the vehicle to roll over onto its side when driving on slopes or making turns.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!-- ''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: <code><nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki></code>. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.'' -->
{{main|Lvkan m/37 A (75 mm)}}

The Pvkv II mounts a '''7,5 cm lvkan m/37 A''' anti-aircraft gun modified for the anti-tank role. This gun is quite powerful but has a very low rate-of-fire for its calibre, likely due to the rather cramped nature of the vehicle. The gun mounting is angled downwards, allowing for an excellent 14° of gun depression, though the gun elevation is limited to only 17°. The turret allows for full 360° traverse.

The gun starts with the very mediocre '''slpprj m/41''' uncapped AP shot that has good penetration but tends to ricochet and has rather anaemic post-penetration effects. The gun only starts to really shine once the Tier IV '''slpgr m/43''' APCBC shell is unlocked. With this shell, the Pvkv II gains even better penetration than the [[Delat Torn]] and [[Pvkv m/43 (1946)|Pvkv m/43]]. The APCBC shell also has a highly lethal 110 g TNT filler.

The gunsight has a considerable amount of magnification, making aiming at long range targets much easier.
The Pvkv II is a classical tank destroyer that does best in a good hull-down position where it can snipe at long range. The combination of great gun depression and a fully rotating turret allow for considerably more flexibility than conventional casemate tank destroyers. However, it is a very fragile vehicle, especially to air attacks, and it must be played carefully accordingly. It is especially well-suited to long-range fights due to a combination of a powerful high-velocity gun and good optics, as well as the inherent fragility of the vehicle.

'''Pros:'''

* Excellent high-velocity gun once APCBC is unlocked
* Excellent gun depression
* Excellent gunsight magnification
* Fully rotatable turret
* Decent mobility
* Really high optical zoom on gunner's sight, even higher than most, if not all Rank VII tanks

'''Cons:'''

* Poor stock uncapped AP shot
* Slow reload for a 75 mm gun
* Large, very thinly armoured turret with an open top
* Poor reverse speed
* High optical zoom results in noticeably higher shell drop in the sights than comparable guns, can make it more difficult to aim and track targets

== History ==
''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

The Sav m/43 (1946) is essentially identical to the [[Sav m/43 (1944)]] with the important exception of the gun: instead of the 75 mm field gun, it features a 105 mm howitzer.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!-- ''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.'' -->
The Sav m/43 (1946) has up to 50 mm of armour in front, which is capable of deflecting shots if angled, but should not be relied on. It should be noted that the engine deck is only 10 mm thick, and can be penetrated by aircraft heavy machine guns and cannon. The side armour is only 15 mm thick at most, and can also be penetrated quite easily by heavy machine guns and autocannon fire.

Due to the cramped crew compartment and scattered ammunition within the compartment, any penetration by a shell is likely to cause critical damage to multiple modules and/or crew members.
=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 202|rbMinHp= 142}}

The Sav m/43 is based on the chassis of the [[Strv m/41 S-II|Strv m/41]] and thus has a similar level of mobility. It is considerably heavier, however, and thus correspondingly more sluggish. While the forward top speed is adequate, the reverse speed is quite poor, making it hard to retreat.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!-- ''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Add a link to the main article on the gun: <code><nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki></code>. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.'' -->
{{main|Kan m/44 (105 mm)}}

The 1946 model of the Sav m/43 now features the '''10,5 cm kan m/44''', a 105 mm howitzer. It starts off with the very inadequate '''slpprj m/44''' APBC round. This round lacks the penetration or post-penetration damage to be competitive against the tanks the Sav m/43 faces; thus, it is of the utmost importance that the '''psgr m/49''' HEAT shell is unlocked as soon as possible. This round has an amazing 240 mm of penetration, the most of any round available to any Rank II tank in the game, and also has substantial post-penetration effects. There is also an HE round available that is effective against light vehicles and armour.

The shells all have a relatively low muzzle velocity, and it can therefore be quite hard to hit moving targets at long range. Conversely, the substantial arc of the shell trajectories due to the low-velocity shells allows the Sav m/43 to sometimes hit targets hiding behind cover, or to fire from behind cover itself.

The heavier shells also result in a relatively long loading time compared to the 1944 model's 75 mm field gun.

One interesting quirk of the gun is that it is not mounted onto the vehicle pointing directly forward. In fact, the gun is, by default, pointing around 15° to the left, giving it more horizontal traverse to that side.
== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
Like the preceding 1944 model, the Sav m/43 (1946) performs best in hull down positions, as it can use the gun depression to present a steeper angle on the frontal armour to increase its effective thickness. However, it commonly faces tougher opposition at this BR, including the very common [[T-34 (Family)|T-34]], [[M4A1]], and [[Pz.IV F2]] medium tanks, thus the armour should not be depended on in a slugging match against these tanks.

Conversely, the 240 mm penetration on the HEAT round is capable of dealing with anything the Sav m/43 can encounter, even the heaviest of tanks. Hitting accurately with the low velocity shells will take practice, but since HEAT shells do not lose penetration with distance, the Sav m/43 is capable of crippling or destroying even the heaviest tanks at long range.

The side and rear armour is very thin (10-15 mm), and is very vulnerable to even heavy machine gun and autocannon fire. Exposing it to the enemy will lead to a quick demise, especially against the extremely common .50 cal M2 heavy machine gun found on a lot of American tanks.

In March of 1940, Sweden ordered about 90 TNH tanks (known as the Panzer 38(t) in German service) from ČDK, but Germany, which had occupied Poland in 1938, confiscated the tanks for its own use as the Panzer 38(t) Ausf. S. Sweden still needed the light tanks, and after negotiations the Swedish manufacturer Scania-Vabis was allowed to produce them under license, and compensation for the lost tanks. Sweden ordered 116 Strv M/41 SI in June, 1941, and in June of 1942 Sweden ordered 122 Strv M/41 SII. The last 18 Strv M/41 SII were built as the Sav M/43 in 1944. Another 18 Sav M/43 were purpose-built afterwards. The Sav M/43 was a casemate assault gun made by removing the turret of the Strv M/41, and adding a casemate superstructure, initially housing a 75 mm gun. The 75 mm gun was replaced by a 105 mm M/44 Bofors cannon. The Sav M/43 served in artillery units until 1951, when they were given to armored units instead. They served until 1973.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

=== Survivability and armour ===
With a maximum frontal armour thickness of 18.5 mm, the Ikv 72 has nearly no armour to speak of. The side armour is almost negligible, and can be penetrated by even rifle-calibre machine guns at point blank ranges. Aircraft are particularly deadly, as the vehicle has an open-topped crew compartment, and what little roof armour there is is only 5 mm thick at most.

The crew compartment is very cramped, and any hit by a large shell is liable to disable multiple crew members, if not all of them, simultaneously.
=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 206|rbMinHp= 128}}

The Ikv 72 trades armour for mobility, boasting an excellent power/weight ratio and a high top speed of around 60 km/h. This allows it to easily get to good positions where it can put its powerful gun to best use. A high reverse speed also allows it to easily back off, and is particularly valuable when fighting in hull-down positions, where it can use its excellent gun depression to its advantage.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
{{main|Kan m/41 (75 mm)}}

The Ikv 72 is armed with the '''7,5 cm kan m/41''', a rather conventional quick-firing 75 mm field gun. It starts off with the unremarkable '''slpprj m/40''' uncapped AP shot, which is adequate against most opposition it may encounter but tends to suffer ricochets against sloped armour. However, once upgraded, the gun may fire the '''slpgr m/39''' uncapped APHE shell and the '''slpprj m/40B''' APBC shot. The former round has a very lethal 260 g TNT filler but tends to ricochet more and has less penetration, while the latter has better penetration and ricochets less, and is thus more useful in uptiers. It is recommended to carry a mixture of both APHE and APBC unless the Ikv 72 is top tier, in which case the APHE alone is sufficient.

The gun also has an outstanding ±20° of gun elevation, allowing the Ikv 72 to take advantage of hull down positions that most other tanks cannot.
== Usage in battles ==
The Ikv 72 excels at fighting from hull down positions, using its outstanding 20 degrees of gun depression and high reverse speed to limit exposure when taking shots. The high reverse speed also helps in city fighting when it has to quickly retreat after taking a shot. It is fast enough to keep up with even light tanks and can use this to take up unexpected positions from which to strike at the enemy.
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".'' -->

'''Pros:'''

* Outstanding gun depression (-20°)
* Relatively fast rate-of-fire
* Excellent forward and reverse speeds
* Highly effective APHE shell with a large explosive filler
* Small target size, especially at long range
* Ammo is stored very safely, will get only ammoracked by artillery or by direct hits

'''Cons:'''

* Extremely vulnerable to aircraft
* Nearly no armour to speak of
* Must choose between high penetration APBC or high damage APHE
* Cramped crew compartment
* Commander and Loader are exposed with their heads being above the armor plate
* Low shell velocities inhibit use as a sniper

The Infanterikanonvagn 72 was a project started in 1949 by Sweden for an assault gun. The intended role of this vehicle was to support the infantry in the attack, replacing towed artillery guns. The design was to be small, and of light weight, around 6 tons. This was to reduce costs so a larger amount could be produced. The first prototype from Landsverk, completed in 1950, was armed only with three machine guns. This was insufficient, and it was re-armed with a 75 mm cannon, the same gun from the Strv m/42. It was a small, lightly armored vehicle, with a casemate superstructure housing the 75 mm gun. It had a crew of 4, and it was open topped. The Ikv 72 was later upgraded to the Ikv 102 and Ikv 103 standards, receiving an armored roof for the crew compartment, a 105 mm gun, and other improvements. The design weighed about 8 tons.
== Usage in battles ==
The Strv m/38 is a fast and maneuverable light tank with excellent firepower. As its light tank designation implies, the armor cannot be relied upon to stop enemy fire, being too weak to stop even .50cal rounds. It has access to APDS, allowing it to punch through tough opponents, although it is almost impossible to find enemies that cannot be stopped by your APBC shells.
=== Pros and cons ===

'''Pros:'''

* Has access to APDS, not common in reserve tanks
* APDS round has 105 mm of penetration at point-blank range, enough to penetrate any enemy tank you meet
* Quick reload rate of 4.1 s
* Has a small size compared to other Reserve tanks
* Effective mobility - max speed of 51 km/h

'''Cons:'''

* APDS round has no explosive filler, so multiple shots will be needed to finish off an enemy
* Has a slow reverse speed

== History ==
The '''Landsverk L-60''' was a Swedish tank developed in 1934, and included several advanced design features such as torsion bar suspension, periscopes rather than view slits and all-welded construction. The '''Strv m/38''' was the earliest variant of the L-60 accepted into Swedish service, with 15 ordered in 1937 and delivered in 1939. Unlike other exported variants of the L-60, the m/38 did not see combat use due to Swedish neutrality during the Second World War.
