Description
<!-- In the description, the first part should be about the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle, as well as its key features. In the second part, tell the reader about the ground vehicle in the game. Insert a screenshot of the vehicle, so that if the novice player does not remember the vehicle by name, he will immediately understand what kind of vehicle the article is talking about. -->
The name is a rank rank Italian light tank Battle-rating. It was introduced in Update "Ground Breaking".

The VCC-80/30 is one of the prototypes created during development of the Italian Dardo IFV, featuring a 30 mm quick firing Bushmaster II gun and a commander's sight.

General info
Survivability and armour
Specs-Tank-Armour
<!-- Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour. -->

The survival of the VCC-80/30 is characterized by its thin armour. The armour is made of rolled homogeneous armour and aluminum that make up an effective armour of 77 mm at the top of the hull, while at the bottom, the most vulnerable part, the armour amounts to 46 mm. This armour is very weak, it can barely defend against 20 mm shells.

Inside the VCC-80/30 there are 3 crew members: the driver, the commander and the gunner.

The engine is at the front of the vehicle and is separated from the driving area with a rolled homogeneous plate of 6 mm. This plate that separates the driver from the engine serves to increase the vehicle's resistance against shrapnel and fire.
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought.
The VCC-80/30 has a different style of gameplay than the Dardo IFV, but instead is very similar to the M3A3 Bradley. Do not rush at capture points or enemies, because your main gun cannot damage enemy tanks as easily as the previous Dardo. It's best to stay hidden and therefore not fire as many shots. In terms of the mobility, the VCC-80/30 is almost equal to the Dardo IFV since the hull is the same, just slightly taller. The TOW launchers are equipped with TOW-2, TOW-2B, and also the TOW-2A ATGM with tandem warhead (to penetrate tanks that have ERA protection). It is always recommended to bring some TOW-2B while the rest of the vehicle holds the TOW-2A. The TOW launchers can only be used when in battle mode or when stationary. In addition to the TOW launchers, the VCC-80/30 carries a 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon with a slow rate of fire and increased penetration using APDS and APFSDS. It is very useful for attacking less armoured enemies on the side. Do not to rush the capture points or go to contact with the enemy, look for a way to get around them or attack them by surprise, because only one hit is enough to destroy you.

Pros and cons
<!-- Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective". -->

Pros:

* Fantastic mobility
** High speed, both forwards (70 km/h) and in reverse (-34 km/h)
** Responsive neutral steering
** Eager to accelerate both forwards and in reverse
* Uses the 30 mm Bushmaster II instead of the 25 mm Oerlikon - increased APFSDS penetration
* Access to a full APFSDS belt
* Various missiles at your disposal - standard TOW-2s, tandem-charge TOW-2As and the infamous top-attack TOW-2Bs
* Great zoom and wide FOV in the gunner's and commander's sight
* High gun elevation - capable of engaging helicopters and other aircraft
* Capable of firing 2 missiles without having to wait for the launchers to elevate
* Low profile, unlike its American and Swedish contemporary, the M3A3 Bradley and Strf 9040 BILL
* Very fast turret rotation

Cons:

* Much slower rate of fire (200 rpm) than the 25 mm Oerlikon found on the Dardo
* Weak armour, as is expected from an IFV
* Stock belts consists of one single APDS shot, this, combined with the slow rate of fire, can land you in serious trouble when engaging enemy vehicles
* Cramped turret with only 2 crew members - hits on the turret are usually fatal
* Cannot fire missiles on the move, unlike the Russian BMP-2M
* Tendency to oversteer at high speeds

After the VCC-80 "Dardo" program was finalized, OTO Melara also had many plans to export the machine, or parts of the machine, to foreign countries who might've been interested in acquiring Italian technology. The standard version of the VCC-80 'Dardo' IFV would itself be armed with a 25 mm Oerlikon autocannon, which would be installed onto the OTO TC-25 Hitfist turret, however during the '90s OTO had designed an upgrade kit for the TC-25 Hitfist turrets, which were primarily made as optional armament available for anyone interested in up-gunning the IFV from a 25 mm Oerlikon to a 30 mm Bushmaster.

This version of the TC-25 Hitfist turret would be mainly seen in military arms exhibitions, but for testing reasons, this up-gunned version of the turret would also be tested on the VCC-80 'Dardo' IFV. Not much is known in regards to the tests, however it is safe to assume that the Italian army at the time was not interested.

The upgraded TC-25 Hitfist was armed with a stabilised dual-fed 30 mm Bushmaster II which could fire a variety of munitions, including 30 mm APFSDS. In addition, it had access to a 7.62 mm MG with 700 rounds, and 2 TOW ATGM launchers, which were able to fire ITOW, TOW-2, TOW-2A, and TOW-2B. In terms of FCS, it utilised the same Kollsman Day/Night sight already present of the production batches of the Dardo IFV, more interestingly tests conducted on the up-gunned Dardo also showed that despite the new calibre, a commander sight was still always available. Lastly, if there was a need to disengage from a firefight, 8 x 80 mm smoke launchers were still available. Overall this would've been a great potential upgrade which could be easily done for the Dardo, however since the Italian army had no interest it was never done in a high amount. Instead, nearly 20 years later, OTO Melara would showcase a new upgrade for the Dardo which would use a 30 mm autocannon, but instead of the TC-25 Hitfist turret it would be presented on the 30 mm OWS turret.

OTO would continue to showcase and hopefully sell the TC-25 Hitfist turret up to the early 2000s. The modified turret would generate some interest in the UK, specifically with the Alvis Stormer 30, which started as a private venture. The reasoning was mainly so the new vehicle could meet potential user requirements for a high-mobility air-portable armoured reconnaissance vehicle. The development of the Stormer 30 started in 1995, with the first prototype completed in the year 1997. Sadly, Alvis didn't manage to generate any interest with the Stormer 30 so OTO Melara was once again without a potential customer for one of their items.

Devblog
During the development of the Dardo IFV, several variants of chassis and turrets with different guns took part in the competition. The prototype VCC-80 with a HITFIST turret is slightly higher than Dardo, and designed to mount the American 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon. Despite the more advanced fire control system and an additional electro-optical periscope for the commander, the military preferred a more compact version of the turret with a 25 mm gun, the HITFIST turret later used for a prototype infantry fire support vehicle and escorting motorized columns with a 60 mm gun.

The VCC-80/30 is another variant of one of the best infantry fighting vehicles in War Thunder, the Italian Dardo. Despite the similarity of these machines, the VCC-80/30 - although it is only a prototype of the Dardo - surpasses its serial brother in some aspects. The main difference between the machines is the turret and the gun. The prototype has a HITFIST 30 turret, which houses a 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon, which is more powerful than the first version already familiar to you from the Bradley, but with about the same rate of fire.

Just like the Dardo, it has ATGM launchers for the TOW-2, the tandem-warhead TOW-2A, and TOW-2B, that hit the enemy from above. The up-to-date fire control system includes sights with NVD (and thermal imaging for the gunner), it also includes a laser rangefinder, and an effective two-axis stabilizer. An additional periscope commander's sight is installed on the tower.
The name is a rank rank Soviet battlecruiser Battle-rating. It was introduced in Update "Danger Zone".

The project began in the mid-1930s, first envisioned as essentially a super heavy cruiser of sorts, which was first intended to be able to defeat the treaty cruisers of other major powers. Over several years, the project evolved and grew through numerous iterations to the final battlecruiser design we have in game. Unfortunately for the Soviets however, construction began in 1939, shortly before the war broke out and the vessels of the class never had a chance to leave the shipyards before the German invasion permanently halted construction, the partially completed hulls were regarded as obsolete by the war's end and scrapped shortly thereafter.

Survivability and armour
Specs-Fleet-Armour
<!-- Talk about the vehicle's armour. Note the most well-defended and most vulnerable zones, e.g. the ammo magazine. Evaluate the composition of components and assemblies responsible for movement and manoeuvrability. Evaluate the survivability of the primary and secondary armaments separately. Don't forget to mention the size of the crew, which plays an important role in fleet mechanics. Save tips on preserving survivability for the "Usage in battles" section. If necessary, use a graphical template to show the most well-protected or most vulnerable points in the armour. -->
Firstly, the Kronshtadt uses an all or nothing armour scheme, wherein the vast majority of the armour is focused on the vital sections (the citadel) whilst the areas of lesser importance have little to no armour (the fore and aft). The main armour belt of the Kronshtadt is a respectable 230 mm of RCA (rolled cemented armour), covering most of the side of the hull above the waterline and extending a decent way under the waterline as well.

The bow of the ship features a 20 mm icebreaker, which can fuse penetrating shells before they hit the bulkhead, though it's only half the height of the armour belt, leaving an unprotected gap between the icebreaker and the deck. The forward bulkhead is quite thick, 330 mm of RCA. The aft bulkhead is a lesser 275 mm RCA, though still capable of protecting the internals.

The deck of the citadel has three layers of armour, the first is only 14 mm, intended to fuse shells and bombs prematurely. Under this is the main armour deck, 90 mm of RHA (rolled homogeneous armour). The final layer is a 30 mm splinter deck, which tapers to 15 mm over the torpedo bulges. The deck of the fore and aft of the ship have only a single 10 mm layer.

The main turrets have sloped turret faces with 305 mm of RCA, the turret sides and roof are a uniform 125 mm RCA, the rear has the same 305 mm as the turret face, meanwhile the more vulnerable gunshields only have 152 mm of RHA. The barbettes are angular with 9 sides and have 330 mm of RCA, however once under the main armour deck the barbettes thin all the way down to 30 mm of RHA. Lastly, the turret rangefinders are covered in 30 mm splinter protection.

The bridge of the vessel is fully protected by RCA, with 330 mm and 275 mm armour plates on the front and back respectively, with 260 mm on the sides and a 125 mm roof, while the radio room below the bridge is completely enclosed in 50 mm RHA. The fire control room at the top of the superstructure also has 50 mm all around.

The secondary 152 mm turrets have 100 mm faces, 50 mm sides and roofs, and 110 mm rears, with 75 mm barbettes. The 100 mm turrets are 50 mm all around with 40 mm barbettes. The 37 mm turrets have 14 mm all around with 20 mm barbettes.

The funnels and fire directors are protected by 20 mm and 14 mm splinter protection respectively. All of the auxiliary turret and superstructure protection is made of rolled homogeneous armour (RHA).

In terms of underwater protection, the ship uses American-style torpedo bulges with 4 longitudinal bulkheads, rated to be able to absorb 250 kg of explosive weight, though the original design specifies that it should be able to withstand 500 kg. The bulges cover 61% of the ships length and have a maximum depth of 6 m, tapering to 4 m fore and aft.

Lastly, the ship has a hefty crew complement of 1,406. Though not the most by capital ship standards, this is still a more than respectable number.

Overall, the Kronshtadt is a surprisingly damage resistant ship for a battlecruiser. Though only 230 mm, the main belt can still block high calibre AP shells when angled and the belt being relatively tall and lengthy makes it excellent for blocking HE fragments. The layered armoured deck is great at resisting some of the smaller bombs and can shrug off any armour piercing shells in game except possibly at extremely long range. The turrets are reasonably sturdy, though can occasionally be knocked out by armour piercing shells hitting the relatively thin sides, however the ships ammunition doesn't tend to explode very often and the vessel can even survive one or two of the main magazines detonating. The ship in general is very HE-resistant, due to a number of factors, but mainly thanks to how the ship has a relatively small number of AA guns, which are all safe within fully enclosed turrets and covered in anti-fragmentation armour rather than being in open mounts spread across the deck. In most circumstances, the ship can practically ignore cruiser fire at anything other than short ranges and thanks to the torpedo protection, the ship is nearly immune to torpedoes which aren't strong enough to overpower your defences.

The ship is still vulnerable to other capital ships when not angled. If you're in a duel with another battleship or battlecruiser, point the bow as much as you can toward them while being able to fire all main turrets, though if you've taken major damage you may opt to angle even further at the expense of not being able to fire your aft turret.

Mobility
Specs-Fleet-Mobility
<!-- Write about the ship's mobility. Evaluate its power and manoeuvrability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward and reverse speed. -->

The Kronshtadt uses 3 propeller shafts, powered by Brown Boveri steam turbines and 12 x 7u-bis water-tube boilers contained in 3 engine blocks, which are ducted into two funnels, propelling the ship to an impressive maximum speed of 61 km/h (71 km/h in arcade), faster than HMS Hood or IJN Haruna (57 km/h) and slightly faster than the battleship Scharnhorst (59 km/h).

Though the vessel is extremely large, the acceleration and deceleration of the vessel is decently quick enough that you can still utilise it to dodge fire from other capital ships.

Being a long and heavy ship, the 41,000 t Kronshtadt has a large turning circle and manoeuvres like a brick when stock, though the ship becomes noticeably more responsive and agile with all the mobility upgrades. The ship also tends to keel to the side somewhat when making high speed turns, especially when fully upgraded, which can thoroughly interrupt your aiming and make it physically impossible to aim at closer range targets on the side you're turning towards until you've stopped turning and recovered from the list.
<!-- Provide information about the characteristics of the primary armament. Evaluate their efficacy in battle based on their reload speed, ballistics and the capacity of their shells. Broadly describe the ammunition available for the primary armament, and provide recommendations on how to use it and which ammunition to choose. -->
305 mm/54 B-50 (305 mm)

The Kronshtadt is armed with a total of 9 x electrically-powered 305 mm 54-calibre B-50 cannons, arranged in 3 x large triple turrets, two superfiring fore and one aft. The ship carries 100 shells per gun, 900 in total.

The cannons can be depressed to -3° and elevated to +45° with an elevation rate of 10°/s, while the turrets can traverse at an impressive 5°/s, giving you relatively good gun handling for turrets of this size. The cannons have an average level of dispersion, not too accurate, not too spaced out.

The turrets have a stock reload of 26 seconds, but can drop to 20 seconds with a max crew, which is considerably faster firing than any other ship armed with this calibre, though not quite as fast firing as the Scharnhorst with its 283 mm guns.

Unlike other Soviet capital ships, the Kronshtadt does not have any SAP ammunition for the main turrets, having only access to HE and AP shells.

The high-explosive shell weighs 314 kg and has a high filler mass, 55.41 kg of TNT with 72 mm of explosive penetration at any angle. The muzzle velocity of the shell is 1,000 m/s, the highest of any battleship calibre shell in game, making long range aiming much easier at the expense of not being able to arc shots over the tops of islands quite as well. The HE shell is great for destroying any targets, from patrol boats up to some of the more heavily armoured cruisers and some capital ships. When fighting capital ships, the shell is very handy for knocking out unprotected crew, setting devastating fires and creating holes for flooding, which can occasionally sink enemy vessels if they don't keep on top of repairing leaks. Plus, if you strike your enemies turrets with this shell then there's a high chance you will destroy their gun barrels and cripple their firepower until they're repaired.

The armour-piercing shell weighs 470.9 kg and has a bursting charge of 12.2 kg of A-IX-2, equivalent to 18.79 kg of TNT, which is a brilliant level of filler for an AP shell. For comparison, the USS Arizona (356 mm guns) has 14 kg in its AP shells and the Scharnhorst (283 mm guns) has only 7 kg. The armour penetration statistics are just as impressive, with the shell cleaving through 677 mm of armour at 1 km away and still being capable of punching past 333 mm at 15 km away. This is a comparable level of penetration to 380 mm cannons. With a fuse delay of 0.05 seconds, the shell can often pass right through soft targets like boats and destroyers, dealing little damage other than flooding, though is still useful against cruisers that have a lot of armour or that are angled toward you. The shell also has a muzzle velocity of 900 m/s which, while lower than the HE shell due to being much heavier, is still fairly fast and still allows for relatively easy aiming at long range.

Both of these shells are of exceptional quality and together give you the capability to defeat any vessel in the game.
152 mm/57 B-38 (152 mm)

The secondary armament of the Kronshtadt consists of 8 x 152 mm 57-caliber B-38 cannons, arranged in 4 x twin turrets near the front of the superstructure, two on the starboard side, two on the port side, with the foremost turrets inboard and on raised barbettes, giving them good arcs of fire. They carry 150 shells per gun, 300 per turret, 1,200 in total.

These turrets carry the same cannons that can be found in the main armament of the Chapayev- and Sverdlov-class light cruisers, renowned for their excellent guns. You have decent gun handling with these turrets, with elevation limits at -5° to +45°, an elevation rate of 13°/s and a traversal rate of 7.2°/s. Your turrets have a 10-second reload, 8 with a max crew.

You have four shell types to choose from :

* HE - 55 kg mass, 950 m/s muzzle velocity, 6 kg of TNT filler with 0.1 mm fuse sensitivity and 50 mm of explosive penetration at any angle.
* SAPBC - 55 kg mass, 950 m/s muzzle velocity, a filler of 5.9 kg of TNTeq with a fuse sensitivity of 7 mm and 0.03 seconds. Penetration is 172 mm at 1 km, 74 mm at 10 km and 52 mm at 15 km.
* APCBC - 55 kg mass, 950 m/s muzzle velocity, 1.69 kg of TNTeq for filler with a fuse sensitivity of 7 mm and 0.03 seconds. Penetration is 333 mm at 1 km, 143 mm at 10 km and 100 mm at 15 km.
* HE-TF - 54.23 kg mass, 950 m/s muzzle velocity, 10.1 kg of TNTeq with 0.01 mm fuse sensitivity and 62 mm of explosive penetration at any angle, equipped with a timed fuse for use against aircraft.

Now whilst these are good guns in cruiser terms, they're not all that much for a battlecruiser like the Kronshtadt. You only have a maximum broadside of 4 guns and the reload isn't exactly the fastest. They're not of much use against small boats because your anti-aircraft suite can take care of them much more effectively and, whilst you can do some damage to cruisers and capital ships with them, they really don't add much to the damage output of the main cannons, which deal overwhelmingly superior damage. With this in mind, it's therefore recommended to load the guns with the HE-TF shells so they can be of use against aircraft by acting as heavy AA batteries. With over 6 kg of filler, the shells can be very effective if they detonate in the vicinity of an inbound aircraft and have more range than anything in your dedicated AA suite. Plus, the high explosive filler means they can still be of occasional use against soft surface targets.

The main anti-air armament of the Kronshtadt is made up of 28 x 37 mm 67-calibre water-cooled 70-K autocannons. What's unique about the AA on the Kronshtadt is that all the anti-air guns are are grouped into a handful of miniature turrets, whereas pretty much every other vessel in game has at least some of its anti-air guns as open air gun mounts. The vessel has seven quad turrets in total with three positioned on the fore of the superstructure and four on the aft. This is complemented by 8 x 100 mm 56-calibre B-34 dual purpose cannons arranged in four twin turrets, all of which are grouped on the rear of the superstructure. The 37 mm guns each carry 2,000 rounds of ammunition each, 8,000 per turret, 56,000 in total, while the 100 mm turrets carry 300 rounds per gun, 600 per turret and 2,400 in total.

The 37 mm turrets have elevation limits of -10° to +85°, enabling them to fire in nearly any direction, whilst they can traverse at 20°/s and elevate at 15°/s. The guns fire a 732 g shell at a muzzle velocity of 880 m/s. With a reload speed of 0.4 seconds, each gun has a rate of fire of 126 RPM, giving each turret a rate of fire of 504 RPM. With an average of 5 turrets on a broadside target, that lets you fire at an inbound target with a potential of roughly 2,500 RPM, though there are possible angles where all 7 turrets can open fire on an aircraft, with a potential of about 3,500 RPM.

The 100 mm turrets have almost identical elevation limits of -8° to +85°, though the targeting speed is lesser, at 12°/s traverse and 10°/s elevation. They fire a 15.6 kg HE-TF shell at a muzzle velocity of 900 m/s every 4 seconds for a rate of fire of 30 RPM per turret, 60 RPM on a broadside.

Overall, and despite having relatively few anti-air turrets, the Kronshtadt has a decent level of AA capability that wouldn't be out of place on several average cruisers. Now, the 37 mm turrets fire all the guns on the turret simultaneously, so there's a noticeable gap between each shot as they reload, but you can occasionally get circumstances where, due to overheating and such, the turrets end up staggering the fire of their 4 guns, giving a much more pleasant density of fire, almost similar to the fire from the future 37 mm V-11 dual mounts on the Chapayev/Sverdlov-class. The turrets are not bad when it comes to accuracy as well, often striking aircraft at medium range and nailing aircraft that get too close. The 37 mm cannons don't usually need many hits to bring a plane down. Unfortunately though, due to all being in entire turrets, the guns aren't the fastest to respond to aircraft that appear from nowhere or that get close enough to outrun the rate the turrets can traverse. The 100 mm cannons can create a reasonably dense flak field that can reach out much further than the 37 mm guns, though the relatively low calibre of the cannons and only having timed fuses instead of proximity fuses means that it's not uncommon for aircraft to just fly through the flak while taking little to no damage unless a lucky shell detonates right next to the plane.
During the 1930s Soviet shipbuilders were intensely working on designing new warships for the Soviet Navy. Among the top priorities was the development of a new cruiser design that could counter 10,000-ton cruisers of other nations. Several design proposals were submitted by 1935, of which none passed initial approval. The navy requested a new design, but the signing of a naval agreement with Great Britain in 1937 caused the requirements to collide with another similar project, ultimately resulting in this effort to also be canceled shortly afterwards.

Nonetheless, the Navy still sought to construct a fast and strong counter to other nations' cruisers, resulting in the development of the Project 69 battlecruiser. However, the already modified requirements for a 26,200-ton vessel proved to be insufficient after the Soviet Navy found out about the specifications of the German Scharnhost class of battleships. This led to yet another update to the requirements in July 1938, now calling for an upgunned and up-armored 31,000-ton battlecruiser (or "heavy cruiser"). After another series of revisions, the design was finally approved for construction in Summer 1939, with two ships being ordered for completion by 1943.

One of the ordered ships - Kronshtadt - was laid down in Leningrad on 30th November, 1939. However, due to severe production delays, the warship was only deemed 10% completed by the time the German army launched its offensive on the USSR in June 1941. Following the invasion, all further construction work was suspended with some part of Kronshtadt being later used for fortifications around Leningrad. After the war, plans were formulated to convert the Kronshtadt into an aircraft carrier, but the design was already seen as outdated leading to the proposal being rejected. In 1947, the ultimate decision was made to dismantle and scrap the partially built hull.

Located midships are two catapults with one OS2U-1 scout plane each which provide unique offensive and defensive abilities, expanding tactical options. Ship-launched scout planes fly just like regular tree units but lack munition choices and cockpit views. Alongside the typical abilities of strafing, dropping 2 x 100 lb bombs, and capping zones, the OS2U-1 and other scout planes have the added ability to lay down smoke cover (up to 3 times). Captains will be wise to remember to utilize the aircraft and consider when best to use it, for example to cap a point early or late in the match, to create a smoke screen to stymie enemy bombardment and repair, to attack enemy units directly, or perhaps something completely new! With two scout planes one can risk a cap attempt at the beginning of the match, saving the second for any opportunity that presents itself.
Alaska is a versatile warrior capable of achieving multiple objectives. However, its generally unwise to spawn Alaska as your first ship (unless you are in a tight squad) and here are the main reasons: First, you have to face the most intense early-game combat and may not spare focus to do multi-tasking. Second, Alaska's low damage output won't help you and your teammate win the early fight. Third, Alaska is tanky indeed but to absorb damage in this ship is the least optimal use and Arizona suits this role much better than her.

After securing the early game, you may spawn Alaska as your second ship and pursue for the mid-late game. Depending on the situation, you may chase down weakened opposing capital ships; sail straight towards one objective and secure the others with your floatplane; repel air raid and deny irregular motorboat tactics with your powerful autocannon arrays. Eventually, you will claim a victory in this ship.
If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour. -->
Sharing the same hull of the SU-100P, the hull is protected enough for heavy machine gun fire but lacks protection against everything else. However, the turret is barely armoured for low calibre machine gun fire (with only 8.9mm of thickness), it has little survivability against everything it will face and will hullbreak with all CE ammunition (HEAT, ATGM, HE, etc)

Since it is mounted on the SU-100P chassis, it has good mobility with a top speed of 70 km/h on a flat road capable of getting you into good firing positons early-on in the battle.

It does benefit from neutral steering when idling but not while on the move (the unsolicited track just locks, making it more difficult to turn as you lose speed).

The reverse speed is good enough to enable you to disengage easily and play peek-a-boo with the enemy.
Specs-Economy
Armaments
Specs-Tank-Armaments
Main armament
1
<!-- Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage. -->
2A11 (37 mm)

This tank has access to a double mount of Shipunov 2A11 37 mm autocannon, a very versatile weapon, considering its vertical guidance, traverse speed, and selection of ammo belts. It is similar to the one seen on the BMP-2. Due to being double mount, it has an RPM of 1,000. It is devastating against both aircraft and ground vehicles even with the standard AP round. It does not get access to APDS belts like on the 2A45 30 mm autocannon but the AP belts are more than enough to disable and destroy modules from all angles as well as destroy enemy tanks from the sides.
Usage in battles
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB). -->
The ZSU-37-2 should be played entirely as an AA vehicle. Do not go tank hunting in this vehicle, as you do not have the armour. Focus on keeping the skies clear, something that this vehicle does very well. A high rate of fire and very fast turret traverse means that you should be able to target and destroy even the fastest jets.

You have a high ammo count with this vehicle, meaning that you can afford to find a good spot away from the main fight in order to pick off enemy planes. Unless you need to reload your ammo, avoid capture points. They are usually the hub of most of the fighting and going to them will put you in the firing line.

While it is fully enclosed, the ZSU-37-2 has armour which makes the M18 Hellcat look like a heavy tank. Even 7.62 mm machine guns stand a fair chance of penetrating this vehicle. This makes you a primary target for aircraft, which are usually armed with cannons or high penetration machine guns and will easily take you out.

Pros:

* High rate of fire: allows for area saturation
* Relatively high top speed
* High ammo count
* Fast turret traverse
* Can penetrate most vehicles from the side
* Radar-assisted fire control

Cons:

* Thin armour: aircraft cannons will cause severe damage
* Radar has very low scan speed

History
The ZSU-37-2 was the long range counterpart of the ZSU-23-4, it entered development at the same time the ZSU-23-4 did and each one fullfilled different roles. It was developed by Uralmashzavod based on the SU-100P chassis designated Object 119. The ZSU-37-2 was meant to counter targets at 3km. A single prototype vehicle was built and was tested on December 1960, both ZSU-23-4 and ZSU-37-2 were accepted for service. It never saw service as the ZSU-23-4 was preferred as an SPAA
Modifications and economy
Specs-Economy

Research the ammo belts ASAP! The mixed ammo belt is a nightmare. The stock ammo line up (HE(M)-T + HE-T + APHE) has only one effective anti-air round, the other two lack the one-shot ability for such a precise weapon. Unlocking the belts and the 'New 50 mm Cannon' should be your highest priority, as the stock cannon has a large dispersion radius which nearly requires the pilot to shoot within 500m for an accurate hit. After this compressor and engine should be the next target as each one improves the acceleration of the "Pulkzerstörer" which is due to the design of all Schwalbe jets just short of awful. The remaining upgrades can be chosen at leisure. The cannon is not prone to overheat and top speed is not something to worry about as the 262 can only reach it with a dive anyway.

Mk.214a (50 mm)

The PAGENAME is armed with:

* 1 x 50 mm Mk.214a cannon, nose-mounted (32 rpg)

Usage in battles
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB). -->
The main tactic to use against bombers is a head-on attack or a long-range shot. Aim for the large fuselage, as the 50 mm HEI-T shell will obliterate any plane it hits in one or two shots or will knock out the pilot. In a deflection shot from above, a 50 mm HEI-T to the wing almost always shreds the entire wing of the enemy or severely damages the wing to the extent a bomber will be unable to fly. A high dive from behind the bomber will offer the biggest and easiest target, but this should be avoided against the B-29.

A common set-up for an advantageous position in the battle is for the Me 262 to speed up to approximately 450 km/h, then immediately climb to the side by utilizing the jet's effective climb rate and energy retention. Continue to climb until you reach around 5000 m then build up speed to hunt down enemy planes, fighters and bombers alike.

Compared to other fighter-jets, the "Pulkzerstörer" has an extraordinarily long-range hitting power. A long-range shot can be attempted! Do not be afraid to shoot from up to 1.2 km away, as the 50 mm is very accurate especially when the upgrade is unlocked. Furthermore, AI gunners will not engage you if you are attacking from farther than 660 m.

Unlike the other Me 262s the MK 214A has a great bullet trajectory making shots above 500 m (1,600 ft) very easy. Even shots up to 1,500 m (1 mile) are a common feat and unlike the American .50 cal M3 Browning the hitting power does not decline over distance.

The Mk 214A 50 mm cannon has extremely low accuracy in stock configuration. Unlocking the upgraded cannon is a must.

When used against ground targets other than AA batteries and lightly armored vehicles, the HVAP or AP-T belts will be effective. Medium Tanks will be destroyed by one direct hit with either type of shell from most angles, though the HVAP shells are more forgiving in this area, and can destroy Heavy Tanks if shot in the sides, rear, or roof. Light Pillboxes can be destroyed with a few hits using a high-angle dive (shooting through the roof), and from the side they can be destroyed by 4-5 hits; but in order to make sure you can pull out in time, start firing from a distance away if you want to destroy it in one pass. in Ground battles, use the same tactics. Equipping the AP-T belt is the most versatile if you are unsure of what types of targets you will hunt, as each shell contains an explosive filler which is more likely to detonate ammo or ignite fires in tanks or SPAA's of mixed battles, and will also deal adequate damage to any aircraft, especially if aimed at a larger module like an engine, in which it will explode.

Ammunition usage
Armored Targets Belt A<br>
The AP-T belt is a good omni-purpose round, though expect some shots to pass right through aircraft structures and do no damage. The AP-T contains an explosive filler which can detonate inside the fuselage of a plane or inside of a tank. In most scenarios, the first hit will damage the aircraft (or in rare cases set it on fire), and the second will be the final blow. In Ground Forces, aim for the roofs of tanks or the rear of tanks within 500 meters to be effective. A well-placed shot to the ammunition of any tank will detonate the ammunition in most cases

Armored Targets Belt B<br>
HVAP is extremely effective against ground targets and can penetrate up to 108 mm within 500 meters. However, it lacks any explosive filler. Shots to planes will almost always result in the shell going straight through the plane with little or no damage. That being said; shots to critical components on planes such as wing spars or the fuselage may result in that component being blown off entirely.

Air Targets<br>
The HEI-T (Minengeschoß) will obliterate any plane on the first or second hit. If even one shell lands on an enemy, the enemy plane is at least critically damaged and will likely crash over time. Only in rare cases will this shell fail to destroy an enemy on the second shot (such as shooting the very end of a wing or elevator, or a heavily armoured fuselage). The B-29 is the only tough nut to crack with this ammunition due to its sheer size; aim for the wings or engines.

Aim well, and you will be rewarded.<br>
Do not overcompensate for the lead when aiming for planes- the 50 mm travels very quickly and in most cases (under 600 meters) only a little lead is necessary.

Specific enemies worth noting
Against piston-fighters, energy advantage is a must- as with the standard Me262A-1. Do not dogfight with piston aircraft. Use energy tactics- always boom and zoom. Against fighters it is important to monitor ammunition as the Mk.214a only has 32 shots before a reload is needed. Most passes will only allow you to take 2 or 3 shots before you must reset the position and try again. Head-ons are a viable tactic (some enemies will fear facing a 50 mm and will actively try to avoid doing so), but engage from a long distance- even if you survive the pass, the Narwhal has very fragile engines.

Jet fighters are the biggest threat to the Narwhal. All jet-fighters will out-climb and out-accelerate you, and your gun has a very slow rate of fire. Thus, the Narwhal is often seen as an easy target. However, the Me 262 family is known for being manoeuvrable at low-speeds when compared to other Jets at its rank. Use your superior low-speed agility to avoid as many passes as you can, then punish a greedy enemy with a well-aimed 50 mm shell.

Pros and cons
<!-- Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective". -->

Pros:

* 50 mm minengeschoß will obliterate any enemy in one or two shots, especially effective against bombers
* Faster than its propeller mounting opposition
* Capable of long-range attacks
* Me-262 family are manoeuvrable against jets at lower speeds
* Excellent ground-attacker with HVAP-T shells
* Often seen as an easy target which will result in enemy pilots making mistakes which can be exploited
* Engine pods can be used as high-friction landing gear to make high speed (approx 400 km/h) emergency landings for rearming and repair, avoiding any serious damage to the structural integrity of the aircraft

Cons:

* Low energy will result in the Me 262's failing against a capable opponent
* Low rate of fire, especially considering that it will be facing a lot of fast-moving jets and nimble prop aircraft which is not the primary target for the 50 mm gun
* Horrendous stock accuracy in conjunction with poor stock ammunition
* Low ammo capacity of 32 rounds of ammo
* Historically weak Jumo 004 engines have average acceleration and as with most Me 262's, the take-off run is relatively long
* Some unlucky shots will pass right through your enemy, inflicting no damage (especially the case of HVAP rounds)
* Performance drop at higher altitudes
* Exposed engines that are very prone to damage, and will quickly deteriorate if damaged

The name (Panzer IV H) is a rank rank German medium tank Battle-rating. It was introduced during the Closed Beta Test for Ground Forces before Update 1.41. The most common iteration of the Panzer IV, the Ausf. H carries the powerful 75 mm L/48 gun that can destroy most tanks at its BR. It also has side-skirts that can provide a small degree of protection to the side armour of the tank.

The most distinctive aspect of this Panzer IV compared to its previous iterations, is that its covered head to toe in 5mm thick spaced armour skirts (known as Schurtzen). These skirts, while they won't stop much in the way of an enemy AP or APBC shell, It can give tanks like the M4A3 (105) some trouble in damaging you. There is a small mobility penalty from having the extra armour though, compared to the G and F2. So keep that in mind. It's also the first Panzer IV to get the upgraded 75mm L/48 gun. Which, while not that much of an upgrade from the L/46 on the G and F2, still packs a punch at it's BR. It also is the only Panzer IV in the game that comes with Zimmerit modelled on the hull, turret, and turret skirts. This just affects the visuals though, as War Thunder doesn't have infantry armed with magnetic mines.
Notes:

* Suspension wheels are 15 mm thick while tracks are 20 mm thick.
* The hull and turret side is protected by an extra 5 mm thick plate to provide protection against HEAT and HE rounds.
* Add-on Armour gives an additional 20 mm of armour can be added to the front facing surfaces.

The armour of the Panzer IV H is almost identical to the previous Panzer IV with exception of the up-armoured hull armor from 50 (+ 30 applique armour) mm on the Pz.IV G to a 80 mm solid armour on the Pz.IV H. This tank also has added side skirts that adds an extra 5 mm of rolled homogeneous armor, but due to it being spaced, it may add some nice protection against HEAT shells.

However, the Panzer IV Ausf. H's armour is vulnerable to most front shot engagement, especially so if no serious attempt is made in compound angling. The front plate in its unsloped format is an enticing target, but beware to not hit the front sloping glacis right in front of it as that area has a tendency to bounce everything. Also, avoid hitting straight into the ball machine gun and driver's port in the front as these also have a tendency to nullify an armour-piercing shot. When using APHE rounds, simply hit centre mass of the front plate and let the post-penetration effect do the rest.

In the case of a vehicle with a gun simply unable to penetrate this front plate, aim towards the turret that still retains a 50 mm front plate. Even the weaker non-autocannon armaments can penetrate through this front plate and incapacitate the turret crew. Aim for the turret left side (right side when shooting it) to knock out the gunner and if using ammunition with explosive filler, also ruin the gun breech, loader and commander. Then get around the side and chip away at weak spots until the threat is destroyed.

Alternatively, aim at the Panzer IV from its long vulnerable sides in cases where its turret traverse cannot keep up with a flanking manoeuvre or catching it in an ambush. The interior is fully stocked with ammo racks even when the user is taking a minimum load. Moreover, the fuel tank resides at the very bottom of the centre of the tank, so a penetrating shot with APHE will either detonate the ammunition, set the tank on fire, or knock out a good portion of the crew, if not fully destroy the tank with all three effects.

In every case scenario, it is to the benefit of the surviving player to fire the first shot against the Panzer IV Ausf. H above all else, as it would deny the Panzer IV H even a chance to use its high-penetrating 75 mm gun.
As with most tanks make sure you research Parts and FPE. Then focus on researching Pz.Gr. 40 (APCR shells) so your tank can stand the chance against heavily armoured vehicles like the Panther. After progressing this far into the unlock tree Artillery should be taken swiftly as well. Accuracy is decent, so sidestepping over to the mobility upgrades to aid the bad acceleration is not a bad idea, in particular Filters and Transmission are useful.
Ammunition
*PzGr 39 - Armour Piercing Ballistic Cap shell - This is your main ammo type, always use this if you think it can penetrate enemy armour. It deals the most damage because of its explosive filler.
*Hl.Gr 38B - Cumulative Anti-armour shell - it is recommended to completely avoid this kind of shell as its performance is vastly inferior in all aspects compared to APCBC or APCR ammo used by this tank.
*PzGr 40 - Armour Piercing Composite Rigid shell - This type of ammo should be used only if you are having trouble penetrating your opponent, or trying to hit a fast-moving tank at some distance. However, its damaging potential is much lower because it has no explosive filler to further enhance damage after the penetration.
*Sprgr. 34 - High Explosive shell - You should carry only very few of these. They are useless against anything other than unarmoured AA vehicles, to which it is lethal.
This tank can be described in one word. Capable. While this version of the Panzer IV isn't nearly as renowned and feared as the Ausf. F2 variant that precedes it, it's still a very capable medium tank. The Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H has a new gun that, while not that different to the guns on the G and F2, still packs a deadly punch in it's BR range. The armour is meh, with a paltry 50mm of armour at the front of the turret, and 80mm of armour at the front of the hull. This makes you an easy target for tanks like KV-2s, T-34-85 (D-5T)s, and M4A3E2 Jumbos among others. But, with some careful play and some creative use of angling, you can bounce some shots from equal rank tanks, and destroy tanks at the top of your BR range. Mobility of this tank is lacking, albeit not by much. (It is the heaviest version of the entire Panzer 4 series after all). It's acceptable, but it will still take time for it to accelerate to its top speed, as your engine is underpowered and your tracks are narrow, which results in poorer cross-country performance than comparable tanks.

The Pz.Kpfz IV Ausf. H is a capable, versatile tank, perfect for sniping, ambushing, flanking, and second line defence. Make use of its accurate gun for hitting the enemy from a distance. But keep in mind it's weak turret armour should return fire come your way. This tank also works very well supporting heavy tanks. Hide behind a friendly heavy that can tank the damage, while you can pop out and destroy the enemy if your teammate can't. Or you can use your decent mobility and get around to shoot into the enemy tanks flanks. In an equal BR rank or lower, you can reliably bounce shots if angled properly, but remember that frontal confrontation in a full up-tier can lead to a quick end.

Tactics-wise, on an open map like Kursk, make like a true German tank and hit the enemy from range. Don't bother going in close, as your advantages lie at range. On a city map like Advance to the Rhine, go for flank routes, or stick with your heavies, giving them more firepower should they need it. Keep in mind to keep the frontal armour angled as you go around corners to bounce any shots.

Although most tanks in Rank III can destroy you pretty quickly, the tanks you need to avoid in open combat (if possible) are KV-2s, SU-152s, T-34-85 (D-5T)s, M4A3E2 Jumbos, and if you're playing in Arcade: Tigers and Panthers

* For KV-2s, if it's looking at you, (And hopefully reloading) shoot at the flat of the turret below the mantlet. It's flat, relatively thin armour, and your shell should go right through and take out everyone and everything in the turret. From the side, shoot it in the side of the hull (At a 90-degree angle for best effects) to ignite the fuel tanks and maybe even detonate the ammo. Shooting the turret isn't recommended unless for knocking out the gunner or the breech, as there are a lot of crew members in there, and the shells in the turret rarely ignite. Trying to destroy it that way will take time.

* For SU-152s, shoot to the right of the gun, above the driver's viewport, and it will wreck everything inside. If that's an option, try to get around it. It is a casemate after all. Once you're on its side, shoot it in the crew compartment to obliterate it.

* For T-34-85 (D-5T)s, it is imperative you get the first shot off, as their 85mm will go through you 85 ways from Sunday, and nuke your entire tank interior. Don't shoot the turret unless you have no other option, as it's incredibly trollish and prone to bouncing your shot. Instead, shoot the turret ring right below the turret. This usually will decimate the entire crew of the tank. Pay close attention not to hit the driver's hatch as it's actually more armoured than the glacis itself.

* M4A3E2 Jumbo's will give you the hardest time, as their frontal armour is nigh impenetrable, aside from the machine gun port. It's a small, unreliable target, but it's your only chance of penetrating the Jumbo from the front. If you're lucky and catch a Jumbo on its side, shoot it in its hull. As it's Turret side (and rear!) armour is still thick enough to block your shots. Also, keep in mind, that if the Jumbo is showing its side while angling toward you, that the side armour behind its tracks is very thinly armoured. Try shooting there if you can. There is a chance you can detonate its ammo rack.
Pros:

* 75 mm KwK 40 gun can destroy most equivalent tanks with stock rounds, with APCR for more heavily armoured vehicles
* Great gun accuracy
* Good turret traverse
* Good gun depression of -10°
* 5 man crew, able to spare 2 casualties before combat efficiency drops
* Decently fast and manoeuvrable for the battlefield
* 80 mm of frontal armour that can absorb some damage when angled properly, and even resist shells in long-range engagements
* Access to 20 mm of additional armour in the form of T-34 tracks (effectively 15 mm RHA) that cover almost the whole of the front of the hull and the turret armour
* Side-skirts can soak up HE and HEAT shells, as well as bomb and rockets at a sufficient distance

Cons:

* Flat armour on all sides
* Side armour is weak, very vulnerable to 20 mm autocannons at close range
* Very circumstantial protection. Only the upper front vertical glace is actually the listed 80mm thick.
* Small gun mantlet, with weak 50 mm frontal turret armour
* Despite it's upgrades, still only has 10 mm of roof armour, making it vulnerable to 12.7 and 20 mm AP shells fired from aircraft
* Cramped turret crew space means that one hit can knock out entire turret crew
* Cupola extends up from the profile and can be a weak point for enemies to shoot at
* Like all Panzer IV models, ammo racks all over the hull and are likely to be hit
* Heaviest of the Panzer IV model, consequently it is the slowest of them all
* Acceleration is mediocre
* Poor cross-country performance due to the underpowered engine and narrow tracks
* No smoke grenade dischargers
Development
The Pz.Kpfw. IV's creation, like its predecessor the Pz.Kpfw. III, was devised by Heinz Guderian, where he envisioned a support tank to be used to handle anti-tank guns and fortifications. The Panzer IV was to work alongside the more numerable Panzer III in Panzer Divisions (three company of IIIs and one of IVs) to engage the enemy, giving the role of fighting enemy armoured forces to the Panzer IIIs. The tank was to have the short 75 mm Howitzer as its main armament and have a weight limit of 24 tons. MAN, Krupp, and Rheinmetall-Borsig worked on the development of the tanks, but the Krupp's model was selected for further testing.

The chosen model from Krupp once finished used a leaf-spring double-bogie system for its suspension, doing away the proposed interleaved or torsion bar suspension system earlier devised. The vehicle held a crew of five, the commander, gunner, loader, radio operator (and hull machine gunner), and driver. Though it looked symmetrical, the Panzer IV turret was actually offset to the left of the chassis centre line a bit while the engine was also offset to the right, this was to allow the torque shaft to turn the turret. The offset also meant that more of the ammo is held on the right side of the tank in storage areas. The Panzer IV was then accepted into service and production began in 1936.

Panzer IV Ausf. H
In the latter part of World War II, the Panzer IV in its base form was deemed inadequate against the new tanks the Allies have, the Soviet T-34 and American M4 Shermans was able to come toe-to-toe with the Panzer IV, if not better than it. Germany rapidly upgraded their Panzer IV to compete with the enemy, mainly the armour and gun. From the Ausf. C to the Ausf. G, the armour increased from the original 20 mm to 80 mm thick and the original KwK 37 L/24 75 mm Howitzer to the longer KwK 40 L/48 75 mm.

The Panzer IV Ausf. H began production in June 1943. The 80 mm front glacis armour is now a single piece rather than attached via weld or bolt. Zimmerit paste is also added onto the Panzer IV hull to prevent the use of magnetic anti-tank mines. Schürzen side skirts on the hull added 5 mm thickness while the turret added 8 mm thickness, plus its application as spaced armour improved its efficiency. A common complaint of the Schürzen side skirts was that it was easy for the skirts to just fall off by brushing against the foliage. The Ausf. H return rollers were changed from rubber-rimmed to cast steel. All these modifications increased the tank weight to 25 tons, and despite the use of a new suspension, the cross-country speed dropped to only 10 mph (16 km/h). Despite that, the Panzer IV Ausf. H would go on to be the most produced Panzer IV variant. These features pushed the Panzer IV's limits to its maximum capacity. An attempt to mount the Schmalturm found on the Panther Ausf. F failed and only further proved this point.

The Panzer IV Ausf. H stayed as the main German tank alongside the Panther tanks throughout the rest of the war. The 80 mm thickness of the frontal armour could withstand the M4 Sherman's 75 mm gun, and the 76.2 mm gun of the T-34. The Ausf. H served in all combat theatres past 1943, from the Battle of Kursk to the Battle of France, and the Ardennes Offensive. Many were lost due to combat or from lack of fuel and supplies and had to be abandoned. The rapid loss of the Panzer IVs in the German inventory caused a simplified variant to be produced. Designated the Panzer IV Ausf. J, the construction was simplified and the internal mechanics were modified, but the variant is a retrograde of the Ausf. H.

Twenty Panzer IV Ausf. H went to Spain in 1943, which held them as the best tanks they had in their inventory. Spain sold them to Syria in 1967. Around 130 Panzer IVs of various variants made it to Syria in the 1950s and 1960s. These Panzer IVs served the Syrians alongside T-34-85s, T-54s, and T-55s during the Six-Day War against Israel.

In-game description
The Ausf. H variant was the most mass-produced tank of this type. It was manufactured by the factories of three companies: Krupp-Gruson AG, VOMAG, and Nibelungenwerke. The first 30 tanks under this designation rolled off of the conveyor belt in April 1943. The front plate of the roof turret was thickened to 16 mm, and the rear plate to 25 mm. All Ausf. H tanks received a Zahnradfabrik ZF SSG77 transmission, reinforced drives with cast drive wheels and Schurzen side skirts, which protected the lower part of the sides from anti-tank and hollow-charge projectiles. The radio antenna was moved to the rear of the hull. From the summer of 1943 onward, to simplify production, solid-rolled 80 mm plates replaced the extra 30-mm-thick outer armor.

In September of the same year, the vertical surfaces of the tanks were coated with Zimmerit paste for protection against magnetic mines. From December 1943 onward, the front plates of the hull were merged into a single plate, improving the new front's resistance against shell impacts. In 1944, the tanks were produced with all-metal supporting rollers. Later Ausf. H models received a turret mount for the MG42 machine gun in the commander's cupola, as well as a vertical rear armor plate instead of the oblique plate featured on all previous variants of the tank. The driver's periscope viewing device was removed. During production, many other changes were implemented to reduce the tank's cost and simplify its manufacture.

Manufacturing of the Ausf. H continued until 1944, and 3960 units were made in all.

Tanks of this variant were supplied to Hungary and Bulgaria. In 1950, the Bulgarian army was still operating 11 of these vehicles.

In Operation Citadel, Pz.Kpfw. IV tanks accounted for nearly 60% of all German tanks. Most of them were G and H variants.

The Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H proved itself to be a reliable combat machine.
Its disadvantages included low maneuverability and speed.
