{{Break}}
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

The Sav m/43 (1946) is essentially identical to the [[Sav m/43 (1944)]] with the important exception of the gun: instead of the 75 mm field gun, it features a 105 mm howitzer.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!-- ''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.'' -->
The Sav m/43 (1946) has up to 50 mm of armour in front, which is capable of deflecting shots if angled, but should not be relied on. It should be noted that the engine deck is only 10 mm thick, and can be penetrated by aircraft heavy machine guns and cannon. The side armour is only 15 mm thick at most, and can also be penetrated quite easily by heavy machine guns and autocannon fire.

Due to the cramped crew compartment and scattered ammunition within the compartment, any penetration by a shell is likely to cause critical damage to multiple modules and/or crew members.
=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 202|rbMinHp= 142}}

The Sav m/43 is based on the chassis of the [[Strv m/41 S-II|Strv m/41]] and thus has a similar level of mobility. It is considerably heavier, however, and thus correspondingly more sluggish. While the forward top speed is adequate, the reverse speed is quite poor, making it hard to retreat.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!-- ''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: <code><nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki></code>. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.'' -->
{{main|Kan m/44 (105 mm)}}

The 1946 model of the Sav m/43 now features the '''10,5 cm kan m/44''', a 105 mm howitzer. It starts off with the very inadequate '''slpprj m/44''' APBC round. This round lacks the penetration or post-penetration damage to be competitive against the tanks the Sav m/43 faces; thus, it is of the utmost importance that the '''psgr m/49''' HEAT shell is unlocked as soon as possible. This round has an amazing 240 mm of penetration, the most of any round available to any Rank II tank in the game, and also has substantial post-penetration effects. There is also an HE round available that is effective against light vehicles and armour.

The shells all have a relatively low muzzle velocity, and it can therefore be quite hard to hit moving targets at long range. Conversely, the substantial arc of the shell trajectories due to the low-velocity shells allows the Sav m/43 to sometimes hit targets hiding behind cover, or to fire from behind cover itself.

The heavier shells also result in a relatively long loading time compared to the 1944 model's 75 mm field gun.
== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
Like the preceding 1944 model, the Sav m/43 (1946) performs best in hull down positions, as it can use the gun depression to present a steeper angle on the frontal armour to increase its effective thickness. However, it commonly faces tougher opposition at this BR, including the very common [[T-34 (Family)|T-34]], [[M4A1]], and [[Pz.IV F2]] medium tanks, thus the armour should not be depended on in a slugging match against these tanks.

Conversely, the 240 mm penetration on the HEAT round is capable of dealing with anything the Sav m/43 can encounter, even the heaviest of tanks. Hitting accurately with the low velocity shells will take practice, but since HEAT shells do not lose penetration with distance, the Sav m/43 is capable of crippling or destroying even the heaviest tanks at long range.

The side and rear armour is very thin (10-15 mm), and is very vulnerable to even heavy machine gun and autocannon fire. Exposing it to the enemy will lead to a quick demise, especially against the extremely common .50 cal M2 heavy machine gun found on a lot of American tanks.

'''Cons:'''

* Low velocity shells that are difficult to hit with at long range
* Very thin side, roof, and rear armour, especially the engine deck
* Useless stock APBC solid shot
* Poor reverse speed

In March of 1940, Sweden ordered about 90 TNH tanks (known as the Panzer 38(t) in German service) from ČDK, but Germany, which had occupied Poland in 1938, confiscated the tanks for its own use as the Panzer 38(t) Ausf. S. Sweden still needed the light tanks, and after negotiations the Swedish manufacturer Scania-Vabis was allowed to produce them under license, and compensation for the lost tanks. Sweden ordered 116 Strv M/41 SI in June, 1941, and in June of 1942 Sweden ordered 122 Strv M/41 SII. The last 18 Strv M/41 SII were built as the Sav M/43 in 1944. Another 18 Sav M/43 were purpose-built afterwards. The Sav M/43 was a casemate assault gun made by removing the turret of the Strv M/41, and adding a casemate superstructure, initially housing a 75 mm gun. The 75 mm gun was replaced by a 105 mm M/44 Bofors cannon. The Sav M/43 served in artillery units until 1951, when they were given to armored units instead. They served until 1973.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish medium tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

It is a further development of the [[Lago I]] medium tank.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
The Strv m/42 has increased frontal protection compared to the Lago I. Both the hull and turret fronts have a maximum thickness of 55 mm, which provides good resistance against small calibre anti-tank guns and autocannon fire. However, the side and rear are still quite thin, and are only resistant against heavy machine guns. The engine deck and turret roof are only 9 and 10 mm thick respectively, and are thus vulnerable to aircraft cannon and heavy machine gun fire.

Despite this increase in armour, the Strv m/42 can still be easily penetrated by the upgraded guns that come with the shift from 2.7 to 3.0. Notably, the [[Panzer III (Family)|long barrelled Panzer III's]], [[M4A1]], [[Chi-Nu]], and the [[P40]]'s HEAT round can all cut right through your armour like paper. It is highly recommended to avoid head-on engagements with these opponents, although you can compete with the Chi-Nu and P40 if you manage to get the first shot off due to their relatively weak armour.

When being up-tiered to 4.0, the Strv m/42 will have to play like a light tank flanker, as any gun at 4.0 can penetrate it and the m/42's cannon will rarely frontally penetrate due to the increase in armour. The worst enemies for the m/42 to face at 4.0 are the [[Pz.IV F2]], [[T-34E STZ]], [[T-34-57]], [[Achilles]], [[M4A2]] and [[Breda 501]]. All of these tanks can either punch right through the Strv's armour and/or are virtually invulnerable to its cannon frontally, with the exceptions being the Breda 501 and the Pz.IV F2.
=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 635|rbMinHp= 363}}

The Strv m/42 is considerably heavier than the Lago I, but the engine is uprated to compensate for the increased weight. The mobility is therefore not significantly affected and is quite adequate for a medium tank of its tier. It has a relatively low reverse speed and the long hull relative to its width also has a noticeable impact on its turning ability.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!-- ''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.'' -->
{{main|Kan m/41 (75 mm)}}

The Strv m/42 is armed with the '''7,5 cm kan m/41''', the same 75 mm field gun found on the [[Ikv 72]]. While quite respectable on the Ikv 72, the gun is not quite as competitive on the Strv m/42 due to the heavier opposition it will face, such as the [[Churchill (Family)|Churchill]] and [[KV-1 (Family)|KV]] heavy tanks. The turret does provide an excellent amount of gun depression (15°), allowing for more hull-down opportunities.

Like on the Ikv 72, the gun starts off with the '''slpprj m/40''' uncapped AP shot, which unfortunately tends to suffer ricochets against the sloped armour that is increasingly common at the Strv m/42's BR. The gun may also be upgraded to fire the '''slpgr m/39''' uncapped APHE shell and the '''slpprj m/40B''' APBC shot. The APHE round has a very lethal 260 g TNT filler but tends to ricochet more and has less penetration than the other rounds. It is best used when presented with sideshots against tanks with weak side armour. The APBC ricochets less, although the penetration is still rather inadequate. It is recommended to carry a mixture of both APHE and APBC.
== Usage in battles ==
The Strv m/42 is a fairly conventional medium tank that distinguishes itself with its excellent gun depression. It thus excels in hull-down positions or ridge-fighting. However, the gun is quite weak and will struggle in uptiers against heavy tanks. Tanks such as the KV-1 and the Churchill are for all intents and purposes invulnerable or very difficult to deal with to the Strv m/42 if played properly, and they are best avoided in favour of weaker opposition. The tank has decent mobility and the APHE shell is very effective if it penetrates, which rewards flanking manoeuvres.
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
With a maximum frontal armour thickness of 18.5 mm, the Ikv 72 has nearly no armour to speak of. The side armour is almost negligible, and can be penetrated by even rifle-calibre machine guns at point blank ranges. Aircraft are particularly deadly, as the vehicle has an open-topped crew compartment, and what little roof armour there is is only 5 mm thick at most.

The crew compartment is very cramped, and any hit by a large shell is liable to disable multiple crew members, if not all of them, simultaneously.

=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 206|rbMinHp= 128}}

The Ikv 72 trades armour for mobility, boasting an excellent power/weight ratio and a high top speed of around 60 km/h. This allows it to easily get to good positions where it can put its powerful gun to best use. A high reverse speed also allows it to easily back off, and is particularly valuable when fighting in hull-down positions, where it can use its excellent gun depression to its advantage.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
{{main|Kan m/41 (75 mm)}}

The Ikv 72 is armed with the '''7,5 cm kan m/41''', a rather conventional quick-firing 75 mm field gun. It starts off with the unremarkable '''slpprj m/40''' uncapped AP shot, which is adequate against most opposition it may encounter but tends to suffer ricochets against sloped armour. However, once upgraded, the gun may fire the '''slpgr m/39''' uncapped APHE shell and the '''slpprj m/40B''' APBC shot. The former round has a very lethal 260 g TNT filler but tends to ricochet more and has less penetration, while the latter has better penetration and ricochets less, and is thus more useful in uptiers. It is recommended to carry a mixture of both APHE and APBC unless the Ikv 72 is top tier, in which case the APHE alone is sufficient.

The gun also has an outstanding ±20° of gun elevation, allowing the Ikv 72 to take advantage of hull down positions that most other tanks cannot.
The Ikv 72 excels at fighting from hull down positions, using its outstanding 20 degrees of gun depression and high reverse speed to limit exposure when taking shots. The high reverse speed also helps in city fighting when it has to quickly retreat after taking a shot. It is fast enough to keep up with even light tanks and can use this to take up unexpected positions from which to strike at the enemy.

The Infanterikanonvagn 72 was a project started in 1949 by Sweden for an assault gun. The intended role of this vehicle was to support the infantry in the attack, replacing towed artillery guns. The design was to be small, and of light weight, around 6 tons. This was to reduce costs so a larger amount could be produced. The first prototype from Landsverk, completed in 1950, was armed only with three machine guns. This was insufficient, and it was re-armed with a 75 mm cannon, the same gun from the Strv m/42. It was a small, lightly armored vehicle, with a casemate superstructure housing the 75 mm gun. It had a crew of 4, and it was open topped. The Ikv 72 was later upgraded to the Ikv 102 and Ikv 103 standards, receiving an armored roof for the crew compartment, a 105 mm gun, and other improvements. The design weighed about 8 tons.
The Strv m/40L is essentially the [[Strv m/38]] with increased frontal armour. The frontal hull armour is increased to a maximum of 43 mm, while the turret is uparmoured to 50 mm. This provides a decent degree of protection against autocannons and heavy machine guns as well as low calibre anti-tank guns. However, the rest of the tank's armour profile remains identical (13 mm), and it is thus still very vulnerable from directions other than the front.

=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 220|rbMinHp= 126}}

The engine of the Strv m/40L is identical to that on the Strv m/38. However, the tank is considerably heavier due to the increased armour, thus somewhat worsening its acceleration. Mobility characteristics are otherwise almost identical to its predecessor.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!-- ''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. {{main|Kan m/38 (37 mm)}}

The Strv m/40L uses the same '''3,7 cm kan m/38''' gun as the Strv m/38. The turret mounting has been modified, however, to provide an even greater amount of gun depression (15°). The ammunition choice is identical: it starts with the unremarkable '''slpprj m/38''' APBC shot. At tier IV, the '''slpgr m/39''' APBC and '''slpprj m/49''' APDS rounds can be unlocked. The former round has a small explosive filler while having only slightly less penetration than the stock APBC shot. The APDS round has over 100 mm of penetration at close range and a muzzle velocity of 1,150 m/s and is capable of penetrating anything the Strv m/40L is likely to face. The high velocity makes it good for sniping, but the APDS round tends to be less accurate than the APBC rounds.

It should be noted that if the "Camera from tank gunner sight" option is enabled, there is a protrusion in front of the gunner's sight that can block part of the gunner's sight view when depressing the gun.
The Strv m/40L excels in hull-down combat where it can exploit its outstanding gun depression and relatively good turret armour. The powerful APDS round allows it to easily penetrate and disable even the heaviest of tanks it can normally encounter, such as the [[B1 bis]] and [[Valentine Mk I|Valentine]]. However, it has relatively low post-penetration effects, and will often require multiple shots to kill larger tanks. The tank's mobility is quite respectable and allows it to keep up with other medium tanks. The frontal armour is quite good, but quite thin elsewhere.

In 1934, a new light tank was designed for Sweden by Landsverk, the L-60. It was based on the Landsverk L-10/[[Strv m/31]], but with a new torsion bar suspension system. The torsion bar suspension system was a large improvement over the Christie suspension system. The L-60 S/1 entered service with the Swedish military in 1938 as the [[Strv m/38]]. The L-60 S/1 Strv m/38 was armed with a Bofors 37 mm gun. In 1939, Sweden ordered an improved version of the Strv m/38. It was designated as the L-60 S/II Strv m/39. The Strv m/39 was armed with an improved Bofors 37 mm gun and had a new engine. During World War 2, the Strv m/39 was upgraded with additional armor welded onto the glacis and mantlet.

At the same time, there was a need for another upgrade of the Strv m/39. The turret mantlet was modified and a commander's cupola was added along with side hatches. These also received the upgraded armor of the Strv m/39, and were designated as L-60 S/III [[Strv m/40L]]. The L-60 served with the Swedish military throughout World War 2, and also became the basis of the [[L-62 ANTI II|L-62 Anti II SPAAG]] designed for Finland, which also saw service with Hungary as the 40M Nimrod. In 1960, 20 L-60 tanks were sold to the Dominican Republic by Sweden. Rebels, backed by the US Marine Corps, fought against the L-60 during the Dominican Civil War. 3 were destroyed by [[M48A1|M48 Patton III]]'s, [[M50|M50 Ontos]], and anti-tank fire. 12 were upgraded and saw service until 2002.
[[File:GarageImage_Strv_m40L.jpg|420px|thumb|left]]
{{Break}}
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===

=== Mobility ===
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 220|rbMinHp= 126}}

The engine of the Strv m/40L is identical to that on the Strv m/38. However, the tank is considerably heavier due to the increased armour, thus somewhat worsening its acceleration. Mobility characteristics are otherwise almost identical to its predecessor.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
{{main|Kan m/38 (37 mm)}}

== Usage in battles ==

'''Pros:'''

* Good frontal armour
* Access to an outstanding APDS round
* Good mobility
* Fast reload
* Excellent gun depression

'''Cons:'''

* APDS is somewhat inaccurate at long range and lacks post-penetration damage
* Very thin armour other than on the front
* Poor reverse speed

== Usage in battles ==
The Strv m/31 is a light tank with poor armour. It shouldn't be used to rush into the heat of the battle or you will get knocked out very quickly. Its armour is inadequate, it can't even stop 12.7 mm HMG fire. Instead, it should be used to flank other enemy tanks, using your excellent speed to your advantage. The Strv m/31 has an unconventional armour layout. Its frontal area (eg.upper hull, glacis area) armour is very weak while the rear is really strong. This tank also has pretty good speed in reverse, so you can drive into battle facing backwards using your rear armour and engine to soak up damage.
=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".'' -->

'''Pros:'''

* Access to APDS ammunition that can penetrate up to 105 mm
* APDS has high velocity, making it easy to aim at longer distances

'''Cons:'''

* APDS has no explosive filler, multiple shots will be needed to finish off a tank
