== Description ==
<!--''In the description, the first part should be about the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle, as well as its key features. In the second part, tell the reader about the ground vehicle in the game. Insert a screenshot of the vehicle, so that if the novice player does not remember the vehicle by name, he will immediately understand what kind of vehicle the article is talking about.''-->
[[File:GarageImage {{PAGENAME}}.jpg|420px|thumb|left]]
{{Break}}
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a Rank {{Specs|rank}} French tank destroyer {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.85 "Supersonic"]].

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!--''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat?''-->
The AMX-10 is considered a light tank, it has minimal armour protection. Some of the areas of this tank can survive up to a 20 mm autocannon, but can't survive anything more than that. The grouping of the crew members is very close together, meaning that APFSDS at this battle ratting will take them out with ease. Even if that doesn't destroy the tank, there are ammunition racks stored everywhere, which can be detonated by spalling.

=== Mobility ===
<!--''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.''-->
The AMX-10 boasts decent mobility when not upgraded. When upgraded the AMX-10 can compete with the Centaro, and other light tanks it might encounter.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: <code><nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki></code>. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''

<!--=== Additional armament ===
''Some tanks are armed with several guns in one or more turrets. Evaluate the additional weaponry and give advice on its use. Describe the ammunition available for additional weaponry. Give advice on about how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage. If there is no additional weaponry remove this subsection.''-->

=== Machine guns ===
''Offensive and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight some aircraft but also are effective against lightly armoured vehicles. Evaluate machine guns and give recommendations on its use.''

===Pros and cons===
<!--''Summarize and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".''-->
'''Pros:'''

* 105 mm gun is on par with the medium tanks of its rank, Available with a decent HEAT and is the first vehicle to unlock APFSDS rounds together with the [[T95E1]].
* Good top speed similar to one of a light tank, great for scouting the enemy team
* Access to thermal optics at a lower battle rating than most nations, in long range maps this is great for spotting enemies before they spot you and spotting concealed enemies.
* Immune to heavy machine guns to the front, and, beyond 100 meters, to the sides.
* Access to the scouting ability, great for a support role.
* Hydropneumatic suspension, helps manage those ridgelines, to expose as little of the vehicle as possible.

'''Cons:'''

* Thin armour much as with most armoured cars, very vulnerable to SPAAGs and aircrafts, as well as tanks with autocannons and high caliber shells, the latter can and will cause an hullbreak, instantly destroying the vehicle.
* Gun is not stabilized, so before sniping it will need to stop and it will take a long time for the gun to settle. Furthermore, that means it is very vulnerable in city or other close quarters maps, as well as when caught in the open while moving.
* Lack of any heavier machine gun than 7.62mm; if using APFSDS primarily, that means it will often struggle when facing lightly armoured targets.
* Poor acceleration and offroad capabilities, it will very rarely, if at all, reach its top speed in realistic and simulator battles.

== History ==
''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: <nowiki>https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History</nowiki>) and add a link to it here using the <code>main</code> template. I noticed in-game that the Specs-Card for the Sherman IC "Scorpion" now has the Polish flag rather than the British one. I would change it on here myself but I dont know how. Just giving you a heads up if someone could do it, or show me how (my main problem is trying to access the specs cards themselves)--[[User:U30853183|U30853183]] ([[User talk:U30853183|talk]]) 05:21, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
:*I don't believe there is a way for you to change the data on the Specs-Card (to include which flag icon is displayed). The Specs-Card is a set of parsers and switches which all tie back to the vehicle code (<nowiki>uk_sherman_ic_firefly</nowiki>). All of the linked data exists on a database outside of the reach of us wiki editors/moderators. Sometimes data in-game changes and the wiki lags behind in updating some of those changes. That which we can change we do (thanks to you guys!), unfortunately, other data we have to wait for the Gaijin magic to make changes on the back end. - [[User:U64962917|U64962917]] ([[User talk:U64962917|talk]]) 10:50, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
::It shouldn't be possible for the polish flag to show up. There has to be a picture on with wiki with the formate File:countryname_flag.png. ::*I believe there are separate teams working on the in-game stat cards and the wiki stat cards, things will get rolled out in-game before the in the wiki. Many things like the flag icons will be rolled out on the .ru wiki and then copied to ours. The .ru moderators will need to add the image and update the stat card template to reflect the option for the Polish flag on the .ru wiki and then it will be updated on ours soon after (hopefully soon after, depends on what fires they are having to put out). - [[User:U64962917|U64962917]] ([[User talk:U64962917|talk]]) 14:37, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
:::Oh wait I misread the question. I dunno why but I though he said the wiki card somehow had the polish flag not the ingame one.
:To answer the original question, the flags in Specs-Card is currently tied to the vehicle tree country. So all vehicles in a tech tree have the same flag. For example the entire Japanese tech tree has the postwar Japan flag. The Russian Wiki guys would need to add a new 'flag' parameter to the Specs database and adjust Specs-Card to use that parameter.--[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 16:10, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
== can we do something about the search function? ==

It's so bad that it's practically useless. I write panzer 2 in the search field, and the first result is the sd. Kfz. 234/2. No sign of the panzer 2 on the first page. It seems to take into account the CSS code of the page, which is.. perplexing to say the least.

Hello The search function is working, i have just tested it. Please clear your cookies and cache, If that still does not work for you. Please [https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/forum/909-war-thunder-wikipedia/&ct=1567683350 Click here] Make a post, list your browser + version you are using, and explain the full process you do on how you perform the search.
:The issue with your search is that it is searching for the most occurrences of "panzer" and "2". Most pages referring to the panzer 2 on the wiki refer to it by its shortened name Pz. so none of those pages will be found. Since we use "Pz." instead of "panzer", there are basically no pages with "panzer" so you are basically looking for the page with the most occurrences of "2". If you want to improve your search results you can either use "Pz." or search "panzer 2" in quotes. You can find more details on how searching on the wiki works [[mw:Help:searching|here]]. --[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 12:36, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
:: The usage of roman numerals in the Panzer names (Pz. II, Pz. III, etc.) probably doesn't help at all with "Panzer 2" being able to find "Panzer II". However, as BlastedRyan said, you would have to use the shortened "Pz." in place of "Panzer" to find the desired tanks.--[[User:U28580205|U28580205]] ([[User talk:U28580205|talk]]) 15:23, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
::: Is it maybe worth creating a few redirect pages for the Panzer series?
:::: I'd say it's definitely worth it. It's a chore to have to remember the nomenclature for each vehicle, which kinda defeats the purpose of a search bar, which is to help you get to the page you want in as few inputs as possible. --[[User:U19353526|U19353526]] ([[User talk:U19353526|talk]]) 20:18, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

:(oops, somehow this got deleted): I will try to bring this up and see if it is possible to adapt the spec-cards to the new flag images. --[[User:U28580205|U28580205]] ([[User talk:U28580205|talk]]) 06:21, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
The only flags available are [https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?search=flag.png&title=Special%3ASearch&profile=advanced&fulltext=1&ns6=1 these]--[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 14:15, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

== Description ==
<!--In the description, the first part should be about the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle, as well as its key features. In the second part, tell the reader about the ground vehicle in the game. Insert a screenshot of the vehicle, so that if the novice player does not remember the vehicle by name, he will immediately understand what kind of vehicle the article is talking about.-->
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} German light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.43]] as the ''Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. H'' (''Pz.II H'' for short) as part of the "Heavy Armor advanced pack". In [[Update_1.89_"Imperial_Navy"#Ground_vehicles_2|Update 1.89]], the vehicle was renamed into the current iteration.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
<!--''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat?''-->

Having 30 mm of frontal armour, this tank isn't made for the frontlines. The three crew members mean that 1-shot destruction is a common possibility. Worse still, this tank has no roof protection with the cloth covering being only cosmetic. Unfortunately, this also means that you are very vulnerable to aircraft attacks too. Your demure silhouette will let you easily hide in the small nooks and crannies of maps and lets you cover your entire tank with bushes for extra concealment.

=== Mobility ===
<!--''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.''-->
This vehicle has a horsepower-to-ton ratio of nearly 20 which translates to a very mobile and nimble tank. The top speed of 56 km/h is good but still pales in comparison next to the 90 km/h of the Puma armoured cars. The maximum reverse speed is 10 km/h, which for a tank is decent and will let you easily get out of perilous situations where other tanks of the rank struggle when retreating.

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
<!--''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''-->
{{main|PaK 38 (50 mm)}}

The PaK 38 is probably the best gun you can find at this battle rating range. The shells have decent penetration, good post pen damage and an incredible APCR round makes this tank able to punch way above its weight. Don't be afraid to take this tank into higher tier battles. Beware, though, it will struggle against the upper front plate of T-34s and Shermans, so remember their frontal weak spots. Not that you should be engaging those tanks frontally anyway. Always bring high explosive rounds, as the lack of any secondary armament makes lighter vehicles harder to fight effectively.

== Usage in battles ==
''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).''

=== Pros and cons ===
<!--Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".-->

'''Pros:'''

* Fast, can manoeuvre into choice positions early in the match
* Effective gun, can penetrate pretty much anything it faces
* Scout vehicle

'''Cons:'''

* Weak armour - trade-off of speed for less weight
* Open top, planes can destroy the vehicle with machine guns when strafing
* No stabiliser, which means that the gun will take a moment to settle after stopping the tank

== History ==
''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction.
=== In-game description ===
In July, 1940 Armament Command ordered two light tank prototypes with enhanced weaponry from the company MAN. Rheinmetall-Borsig built the cannons and the bulkheads comprising the body.

In January, 1942 four tanks were produced and immediately sent to the Eastern Front as part of the 1st and 3rd squads of the 559 Antitank Battalion.
