The BMP-3 is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), and has comparable armour to other IFVs. It uses special alloys in its construction, which are not equivalent to Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA, this is the type of armour that ammunition displays penetration against on stat cards). The front of the BMP-3 has about 50 mm of armour with an additional fuel tank behind this armour. This protects it against any machine gun and some small cannon rounds such as 20 mm, but it will be penetrated by any IFV auto cannon that it might face. The front turret armour has similar levels of protection. The side armour is even worse, at only about 20 mm RHA effectiveness, it will be penetrated by .50 calibre ammunition.&lt;br /&gt;

The survivability of the BMP-3 is very low. It has only 3 crew members who are closely spaced together. This means that most penetrating rounds will destroy the BMP-3 in one shot. Additionally, the BMP-3 is subject to the hull-break mechanic, so it will often be destroyed instantly when any component is hit by a large round. There are some empty spaces in the BMP-3 like the fuel tank in the front or the area in the back above the engine (where infantry would sit), but these would only be hit when directly side on with an enemy. This means that if you are going to be shot, it is best to be side on, trying to bait the enemy to hit one of these areas.&lt;br /&gt;

The ammo capacity is quite unusually large at 500 per belt, with a capacity of 2 belts. You won't be reloading or running out of ammo quickly. The clip reload is unbelievably fast for how much ammo it has, which makes from changing from HE to AP a breeze. It is hard to overheat the weapon, but just keep in mind not to hold down for too long. This weapon can also double as an AA gun with its rate of fire, and manual aim instead of AI would be better, as the AI can overheat the weapon and don't stop when the weapon is overheated or near overheating. The BMO is one of the first Russian boats that has a large variety of armament. At this stage, you may need to assign new buttons to be able to select your primary/secondary/anti-aircraft armaments, because the BMO works best when all of its weapons are used. Generally, the BMO should be played like a slower Motor Torpedo Boat that can stand its own ground. For example, at the beginning of match around its own BR (1.7-2.3), it can rush a cap point and decimate the oncoming light boats with its 37 mm primary (which is comfortably positioned in the bow). When the cap is clear, the BMO can take on a defensive role behind some cover.&lt;br /&gt;

The 37mm main armament on the BMO is very powerful in the fact that it is very rapid fire and can obliterate small boats with its HE belt rounds, however anything larger than a submarine chaser won't take much damage from your fire and it is recommended to steer clear. The ammo capacity is unusually quite large at 500 per clip, with a capacity of 2 clips. You won't be reloading or running out of ammo quickly. The clip reload is unbelievably fast, which makes from changing from HE to AP a breeze.  &lt;br /&gt;
