Pros and cons
<!-- Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective". -->

Pros:

* Marvelous penetration with the DM53 round
* Upgraded armour making the tank hard to kill from the front
* Excellent reverse and forward speed
* Has access to Gen 3 thermals for the commander and gunner unlike previous Leopards
* Perfect gun handling for an MBT: 40°/s for both turret rotation and gun elevation speed (with ace crew) and -9°/+20° maximum vertical guidance
* Access to a top mounted .50 cal machine gun
* Access to HE-TF round that can deal with lightly armoured targets
* Access to spall liners that increase survivability
* Quite survivable tank with a lot of space between each modules and crew members

Cons:

* The turret armour can be shot off making the tank more vulnerable
* Turret ring and mantlet are still a huge weak spot, despite the added armour
* 12.7 turret is quite large. Makes the tank easier to spot and kill with large caliber HE
* Engine deck prevents from lowering the gun enough towards the back
* Mine protection adds a lot of weight and decrease the mobility compared to a standard Leopard 2A7V

The 25mm/87 Mk.38 is a navalized copy of the ground 25mm M242 cannon (mounted on M3 Bradley) in term of the gun performance and ammo characteristics, though the naval version has its ammo belt slightly re-adjusted with pure HEI-T and APDS belts as researchable modifications. Notice that in naval battles, ADPS doesn't create secondary shatters (the spalling in ground battles); it's a pure kinetic-damage ammo. The gun fires at 3 round per second and overheats in 17 seconds. In naval scenarios, APDS is the only option for Cyclone. The self-destroying property of HEI-T renders this type of bullet almost completely useless because boats at this tier and BR often carry punchy 40 mm and above autocannons and fight beyond 2 km.
Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective". -->
The USS Cyclone is a quick vessel fitted with guns that can do short work of most coastal ships you'll encounter. She must stay in the coastal area hunting for them, using her good top steep to her advantage. Howerver you must stay away from the Frigates and Destroyers you can encounter at this br. The 25mm guns are indeed, very powerful agains't patrol boats, but they are lacking punch and can hardly significant damages to bigger targets and in addition to that, the USS Cyclone can hardly whitstand a hit from a high caliber round. Try to engage big vessels while they are already engaged by somebody esle or heavily damage without over exposing yourself.

Pros:

* Very survivable agains't low caliber rounds
* APDS has enough penetration to damage other armoured boats, such as MPK.161, HMS Peacock, or M-802
* 25mm guns are decent agains't low flying aircraft
* Decent top speed and mobility
* Decent ship to hunt coastal boats
* Has access to a radar system
* APDS rounds have decent velocity and easy to aim even agains't air targets.

Cons:

* Large profile
* Guns overheat quickly
* Main guns lacks punch agains't frigates and bigger ships
* High caliber machine-gun are pretty much useless, they have limited fire arc and arn't very effective even agains't small PT boats.
* Can't sustain hits from high caliber guns (102mm and above)
* Can't track targets with her radar

The name is a rank rank British medium tank Battle-rating. It was introduced in Update "Winged Lions".
<!-- Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour. -->
The Challenger 2 TES has the armour that would be expected of the name (TES - Theatre Entry Standard). The tank has been updated to meet the modern theatres of war, including streetfighting and more effective chemical munitions and kinetic weapons. The ERA on the sides displays this exact line of thought. In-game, the combined ERA and composite screen add ~240 mm of effective protection against shaped charges and about 46 mm protection against KE rounds at 0 degrees.

Equipped with the iconic jammer plate mounted to the roof, this tank will be easy to spot and identify, so one should take care to cover their weak points with extra care, as many will know where the weaknesses are, and feel pressured to shoot them due to the increased armour elsewhere. The tank retains the same weakspots: the gun mantlet, driver's port, and the lower frontal plate, though unlike the Challenger 2 (2F) you get the LFP composite block (and the rest of the add-on) stock, which does help with the chemical protection. The gun breech will most likely block spalling from any penetrating round, allowing TES players to retreat and repair their breech, should they be far enough away from danger.

When opposing enemy tanks, commanders should attempt to angle their tank slightly, as the side add-on will be more effective against HEAT-FS and ATGMs (so long as they don't have tandem charge warheads), though this won't prevent any darts you meet from going through - M735 and DM23 can make it through 3 ERA blocks and still have enough energy to take out the engine. Angling has the added bonus of making the driver's port less effective as a means of knocking out the tank's crew.
<!-- Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards. -->
The mobility of the TES is poor, even by Challenger 2 standards. The drastic increase in weight over the Challenger 2 (2F) makes the already below average power-to-weight ratio even worse, and getting the add-on stock ironically makes the situation worse: other Challenger 2s allow you to go for mobility upgrades before the add-on packages, making mobility through the stock grind more bearable as you decide when the extra weight is added, whereas with the TES you start out at 75t and 1076 hp. Even with all the mobility upgrades, the TES is slow to turn and slow to accelerate, and on some dirt roads it may struggle to reach 25 km/h. The neutral steering is unaffected by the increase in weight, completing a 360 traverse in the same amount of time as a 62.5t Challenger 2 (~14.5s).
Usage in battles
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB). -->
With the Challenger 2 TES, the addon armour protection comes as standard and leaves the vehicle more protected than the base Challenger 2. However, this add-on armour has the downside of making the TES rather sluggish at accelerating and turning.

As with all the Challenger 2's, the ideal playstyle is to be at long range, utilising hull down positions to protect the hull and use the gunners thermal sight and laser range finder to return fire with good effectiveness. The TES retains the option of carrying smoke or HESH shells. Smoke can be used to fire at enemy positions to obscure their view while either the TES is repositioned or teammates are advancing. HESH can be used against light vehicles to overpressure them in situations where getting a killing blow with APFSDS would be difficult.

Where close range combat is required, ensure that the hull remains protected as much as possible by using terrain features. Take the time to ensure that when pushing into a location that it is clear of threats, as pushing round corners of buildings will leave the hull exposed without the chance to return fire.

Brawling is an option, however, the TES is rather sluggish and will not last long against fast or experienced opponents when the range is very short. Try to get the enemy to shoot the turret cheeks, as shots to the hull or gun breech will render the TES combat ineffective. Using the Challenger 2's impressive reload will give the TES an upper hand in brawls, as if both the Challenger and the opponent fire at the same time, the Challenger will typically reload first.

Pros:

* Impressive chemical protection on the front and sides
* Maintains the kinetic protection from previous variants, with improvements in places
* Very accurate L30A1 120 mm gun
* Fast reload
* Roof mounted machine gun has access to thermal and can be used as a CITV

Cons:

* No composite plates behind the ERA panels on the turret sides
* Heaviest MBT in the game with a very poor hp/ton ratio; very poor acceleration
* Same ammunition options as the previous Challengers
* Maintains the same weak spots from previous variants
* L27A1 has low penetration compared to other top rank NATO ammunition
* ERA is useless against tandem-charge warheads
* Cannot maintain the short reload time after the first-stage ammo rack (4 rounds) has been depleted
A modification of the British Challenger 2 main battle tank with Dorchester Level 2 armour set has been used by the British Army in the operation in Iraq since 2002. At the end of 2004, these tanks were additionally equipped with combined turret side shields, as well as grilles covering rear parts of the hull and turret for protection against shape-charged anti-tank weapons - this configuration received the designation Dorchester Level 2F (DL2F). The next modernization, also aimed at improving the protection, took place in 2008. The tanks received hull skirts made of combined armour, NERA blocks on the hull sides were replaced with ERA containers manufactured by the Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Limited. This variant of the Challenger 2 was designated TES (Theatre Entry Standard).
The name is a rank rank Italian medium tank Battle-rating. It was introduced in Update "Sky Guardians". The C1 Ariete AMV PT1 is the final main battle tank that is available to research in the Italian ground forces tech tree. The C1 Ariete was developed by OTO Melara during the late Cold War to allow the Italian army to equip itself with a modern tank which could easily deal with Yugoslav and Warsaw Pact tanks. The AMV PT1 is a further development of the C1 Ariete, it being the first prototype of the AMV program which aims to upgrade several features to improve the tank and extend its life. The PT1 specifically features mobility improvements which allows the tank to be on par in terms of mobility with the rest of the top-tier MBTs. This Italian MBT is one of the staple tanks that you can add to your lineup, as a tier 1 mod you get access to the CL3143 APFSDS round which will greatly help you when grinding the vehicle. It's a great MBT when used by players who can work around its weaknesses, keep in mind that unlike the previous Ariete you don't have access to the WAR add-on armour kit.
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. The C1 Ariete AMV can be played in different roles. It can be played as a sniper due to it's decent APFSDS rounds, good thermal and laser rangefinder, however you must not over expose yourself since the armor of the tank cannot whitstand any hit from any top tier rounds, even some chemical projectile can penetrate the amor of the Ariete, even in the turret. Due to it's improved mobility and very powerful round the Ariete fits perfectly in the "glass gun" role, flanking the enemy and hitting them from the side. However the Ariete cannot be used as a brawler since, as previously mentionned, it's armor isn't great, and it's rounds arn't protected by any kind of blowout pannels which means that any penetrating rounds will result if a one shot.

To sum up, the Ariete is very good at long range and as a glass gun but you have to keep in mind that you can not rely on your armor at all.

Pros:

* The CL3143 APFSDS round is a tier 1 modification
* Decent forward mobility, even better than previous Ariete due to mobility upgrade
* The commander has access to thermal sights, and both gunner and commander thermals are Gen 2 (higher resolution)
* Outstanding gun handling characteristics
* Quick and responsive reverse
* Fairly decent and reactive mobility at medium to high speeds
* Quick neutral steering
* DM53, combined with great thermals and a laser rangefinder make for an exceptionally deadly sniper
* Unlike other NATO MBTs, there is no ammo rack in the turret bustle: a penetration in the turret rarely destroys the tank in one shot

Cons:

* Mediocre overall armor protection even agains't chemical projectiles
* Unprotected ammo stowages
* Placement of crew members and first stage ammo rack make hits to the hull fatal
* The DM53 APFSDS round is a tier 4 modification
* Does not have access to PSO or War kit armour package
* Russian tanks, protected by explosive reactive armour, can at times directly withstand DM53
* Lacks roof mounted machine gun from the previous C1s, pretty embarrassing dealing with low flying aircraft.

The history of the C1 Ariete begins during the late stages of the Cold War, with a program born out of the need of the Italian army to modernize the fleet of tanks they had during the Cold War, which were the Leopards and M60s. Those tanks would be considered obsolete, considering the fact that many countries around the world who adopted such designs had either put them out of service or replaced them for something more modern. To make the new Italian MBT, Italy put Iveco and OTO Melara in charge. Iveco dealt with the hull, transmission, and engine, while OTO Melara took care of the turret, cannon, and the installation of optical sights. After many changes, and a couple of wooden mock-ups, the C1 Ariete (P), would first be shown to the public, at a presentation inside of La Spezia in 1987. Development kept on continuing towards the year of 1990, which allowed both Iveco and OTO Melara to refine the C1 Ariete's design. Deliveries were scheduled to first take place in 1993, however due to some setbacks (likely funding) it wouldn't be until 1995 that the first C1 Ariete production deliveries actually took place. At first an order of 300 tanks would be made, but due to the Cold War coming to an end, it was reduced to only 200 units, which would all finally be delivered on 7th August 2002.

The tank would feature a set of improvements from previous designs, for example the first C1 Ariete production models had access to the TURMS 3rd generation LTFCS made by Officine Galileo, which gave the capability to the Ariete to fire on the move, both during the day and at night. However later down the line, the last 50 Arietes would receive an upgrade of their sights, which resulted in many improvements, such as allowing the C1 Ariete commanders to have access to thermal imaging. In terms of armaments, the C1 Ariete (P) and C1 Ariete Production had access to a 120 mm smoothbore gun, made by OTO Melara, with similarities to the German made L44. The cannon would be suited to fire the majority of NATO standard munitions. Another improvement included better protection compared to the previous vehicles, it would be one of the more vital aspects of the Ariete. The tank would be delivered up until the early 2000s when the Ariete would begin to be the only official tank in service, while the Leopards and M60s would be fully phased out and put in storage.

Since then however, the Ariete has had quite the bumpy ride when it came to upgrading the machine; the Italian army was not against upgrading it, but there was a common issue that would plague the development: costs. The first proposed upgrade for the C1 Ariete would be what is known as the "C2 Ariete". After the tank had finished being designed, many nations at the time already had better vehicles in service, for example Germany would already have the Leopard 2A5. The C2 Ariete would have featured a lot of improvements, which included new updated armour, an autoloader, new engine, and also new updated FCS. However this never ended up happening and as such the C2 Ariete would remain only a proposal on paper. Another potential upgrade for the C1 Ariete, the C1 Ariete Hitfact Mk2, was likely not even considered by the Italian army but it would still feature a set of advancements that technically speaking would make it still a better machine than the production vehicles, such as the new cannon and optics.

AMV upgrade

The C1 Ariete AMV, standing for "Ammodernamento di Mezza Vita" (English: "Mid Life Update"), is likely to be the final upgrade to the C1 Ariete. This upgrade was conceptualised many years ago but it's only in recent times that progress has been seen with such a program. The AMV program will attempt to extend the life of the C1 Ariete up until 2030/2035, where by then it is presumed that a new design will take over. The AMV program will feature 3 prototypes at first, the AMV PT1, which will feature improvements to the hull, the PT2 which will feature improvements to the hull and turret, and finally the PT3 which will incorporate improvements to both the turret and hull whilst also likely being used to test hard-kill APS.

The improvements in the Ariete AMV PT1 are as follows: increase in power from 1,250 to 1,500 horsepower, sadly this was not obtained with the installation of a new engine, but instead with the application of an upgrade kit on the current engines that the C1 Ariete utilize, which were completely disassembled and rebuilt with the constitution of numerous new elements, most of which derive from the V8 of the B2 Centauro II. One of the other ways it's better protected is thanks to the installation of the Anti-IED/Mine kit. The crankcase is also the same, but the displacement has been increased from 26 to 30 litres by changing cylinders, pistons, and crankshaft, increasing the stroke of the cylinders. In order to better receive and manage the greater power offered by the improved engine, called V12AMV for now, changes would also be made on the automatic gearbox produced under license from the German ZF, this provided the necessary calculations for the changes necessary to receive the greatest torque and its distribution. Among that, the PT1 will feature improvements to the breaking system, the adoption of a new track known as the DST 570 P0 (the current Arietes use the DST 840 E0). The DST 570 P0 is 20% wider than the previous tracks, it allows the tank to have a smaller footprint and makes it much easier to overcome soft terrain. Suspensions and shock absorbers have not been replaced, but only overhauled. Tests of the PT1 have been done at the "Centro Polifunzionale di Sperimentazione Mobile" (CEPOLISPE). The PT1 was also given the production WAR+PSO add-on armour kit, which all AMV prototypes have also received. In the future, once testing of all AMV prototypes has been concluded, they will all be brought to C2 Ariete standard.

Pros:

* Very good turret - most of shots will either bounce or non-pen it
* The hull can't be penetrated by most of the tanks it faces; only a few tanks with high calibre cannons can penetrate it
* Very fast turret rotation, even faster than some rank VII MBTs
* Very potent gun with access to a variety of shells to use in any situation
* Gun depression of -10° is usually sufficient
* Very good speed and turning ability
* Roof mounted 12.7 mm machine gun as well as a co-axial one. Pretty useful agains't airplanes and lightly armoured vehicles
* Very good acceleration
* Decent reverse speed (-19 Km/h)
* Have access to smoke grenades unlike the american, italian and japanese M47

Cons:

* The hull machine gun port and the armour plates around it are deadly weak spots
* LFP can't stop a lot of rounds at it's br
Development
The M47 Patton came about only a few years after its predecessor, the M46 Patton. The basis of this design was the M26 Pershing, which was deemed insufficiently mobile for its role as a medium tank. The M46 was mainly the M26 Pershing with a new engine, transmission, and a redesigned 90 mm gun. While a good solution for the lacking M26 Pershing design, it was only considered a stopgap solution while the experimental T42 medium tank was being developed. However, the Korean War put a stop in that development due to an urgent need of tanks, so the T42 project, which would produce a completely new tank design, was put on hold.

An interim decision was made to mount the turret from the T42 onto the hull of the M46 Patton, this modified tank was designated the M47 Patton and entered production in 1951. A common nickname for the tank was the Patton II, due to the same name as the M46 Patton, this was changed to Patton 47 a few weeks later. The M47 Patton featured most of the armament seen from the M26 Pershing and M46 Patton, with a 90 mm gun and a coaxial and hull-mounted .30 cal machine gun, and a .50 cal machine gun on top of the turret. The M47 Patton has the distinction of being the last American tank with the hull-mounted machine gun on the bow. The new turret required the hull to be redesigned with a larger turret ring and had a "needle-nose" design with the turret mantlet heavily sloped towards the cannon, the design's heavy sloping nature also helped improve protection. The turret also had a large protrusion at the back to act as storage. An M12 stereoscopic range finder was also mounted on a turret, which was difficult to use, but would appear in every American tank design from here on until the M1 Abrams design.

Though technically a medium tank by the army standards, a new standardization in US Army tank designation on November 9, 1950, had the entire system changed from the weight of the tank to the calibre of the vehicle's gun. Therefore in the 1950s, the "Medium Tank M47 Patton" name was changed to 90 mm Gun Tank M47 Patton. This designation would go on for future American tank designs. The M47 Patton began production in June 1951 before its standardization at the Detroit Tank Arsenal. Delays in the production schedule caused a long period of testing to occur until it was standardized in May 1952. Production ran until November 1953 with a total production number of more than 9,000 M47 Pattons between Detroit and Alco.

German usage
The rebuilding Bundeswehr of West Germany became one of the largest receivers of American M47 tanks, receiving up to 1,120 M47 tanks in the 1950s alongside M48s. However, it was widely recognized in both America and Germany that the M47s quality was of an interim design, and so its replacement by more modern designs was sought out. This was done by phasing them out with the deliveries of more M48 tanks, as well as the production of the new Leopard I tanks in 1965.

The phased out German M47 tanks was most notably given out to Turkey, making up a portion of the total 1,347 M47 tanks it received from both Germany and America. These M47s in Turkish service would be involved in the 1974 invasion of Cyprus in Operation Attila.
Work on the Mi-24 began in the early 1960s, with engineers at the Mil design bureau coming to the realisation that helicopters capable of both transporting troops and materiel as well as being able to provide fire support are gaining ever-increasing importance with new combat doctrines focusing on battlefield mobility. The Mi-24V is a further development of the Mi-24, that entered production in 1976. The V modification most notably introduced the 9M114 "Shturm" guided missiles to the Hind's arsenal, which in turn significantly increased its hit probabilities and destructive power. In its decade-long production (1976 - 1984), around 1,000 Mi-24Vs were produced, eventually becoming the most produced version of the Hind.

In helicopter enduring confrontation :

The Tiger HAP is a decent helicopter for close range air to air engagement with other helicopters. The main canon is really effective agains't enemy aircrafts and the 4 Mistrals AAM it can carry are useful agains't enemy helicopters. However some helicopters you might face such as Ka-50 and 52 with their Vikhr AGM, AH Mk.1 with it's Starstreak AGM, EC-665 Tiger UHT with it's PARS AGM can be hard to fight because of their better long range habilities because the Tiger HAP don't have decent long range weapons.

The best way to face them is to use the terrain and the decent agility of the Tiger HAP to sneak down until you reach the enemy helicopter to engage it in close range. The Ka-50 and 52 as well as the AH Mk.1 are less effective at close range because they are less agile than the Tiger, The Tiger UHT is as agile as the Tiger HAP, but the UHT don't have access to a canon.

The Tiger HAP can also be usefull for ground striking. Indeed the main gun is pretty decent to deal with lighlty armored targets, the TDA rockets and the HOT-3 AGM are good enough to deal with stronger targets.

The Tiger HAP can be used for ambushing enemy helicopters, using it's agility to sneak down behind a mountain range or a canyon. Or it can be used for ground striking.

In Simulator and ground realistic battles :

The Tiger HAP can be used for surprise rocket attacks by flying low to avoid enemy SPAAGs radars. It can also help the team dealing with heavy armored targets with it's powerful HOT-3 AGM, however this will expose the Tiger to the enemy radars.

The Tiger HAP can also be used for hunting the enemy helicopters by sneaking down until you come close to the enemy helipad.

However the Tiger HAP is vulnerable to enemy fighters attack because it's Mistral air to air missiles can only pull 12G wich is not enough to deal with fast jet fighters. If there is an enemy jet fighter you might use the terrain at your adventage to fly low and hide.

Pros and cons
Pros:

* Decent agility compared to it's counterparts.
* Pretty fast helicopter.
* Decent crew protection.
* The main gun have a good rate of fire and is effective agains't air targets
* Can carry up to 8 HOT-3 AGM wich can pen up to 1.250 mm of armor.
* Can carry up to 68 powerful TDA Rockets.
* Have access to Mistral AAM fitted with ECCM.
* Have access to Missile Approach Warning system, thermal vision and flares (60 of them).

*

Cons:

* The fuselage is rather fragile.
* Mistral AAM are not effective agains't jet fighters anf fast flying aircrafts.
* The main canon lacks of penetration to deal with armored targets.
* HOT-3 AGM are very slow (only 240 m/s) and don't have a lot of range (4.30 km).
* Lack of radar.

*
* The Mi-28N is a really heavy helicopter, less manoeuvrable than it's counterparts.
* Only 250 rounds for the main gun.
* Need to remove some half of the ATGMs or all the ATGMs to carry AAM.
* Igla AAM only have 10G of maximum overload wich is ok for engaging enemy helicopters but not enough to engage jet fighters.
* Huge helicopter meaning it's a big target.
* Missing a radar.

Following the introduction into service of the Mil Mi-24 Hind, design work began on an optimised attack helicopter with reduced secondary transport capacities, intended for a primary anti-armour and anti-helicopter role as well as providing aerial cover for helicopter landings. Following a number of proposed concepts, a preliminary design was chosen in 1977. Following the construction of a mock-up, a prototype was constructed and first flew on November 10th 1982, with a second prototype completed in 1983. Trials of the Mi-28 began in 1984, but the type lost out to the Kamov Ka-50. Despite this, lower priority development of the Mi-28 continued and production of the Mi-28 was approved in December of 1987. In January of 1988, the first prototype Mi-28A flew, fitted with more powerful engines and a different model of tail rotor; this prototype was first shown to the Western world at the 1989 Paris Air Show. In 1991 a second prototype of the Mi-28A flew, but with the end of the Cold War, the end of the Soviet Union and ensuing cuts in the Defence budget, the Mi-28A was re-evaluated and found superior to the Ka-50, especially due to it lacking all-weather capabilities. As such, the Ka-50A was cancelled in 1993.

The Mi-28N was first presented in 1995 and first flew on November 14th 1996. Unlike the preceding Mi-28A, the Mi-28N was fitted with a whole array of vision aids, such as radar, a gun camera and forward-looking infrared (FLIR), giving it an all-weather capability. Once again, the post-Cold War realities in the Russian Federation meant that funds were not available and the program was given a low priority.

This changed in 2000 when attention was given to re-equipping the Russian Army. The Mi-28N was given a new priority, as a future replacement of the Mi-24. In 2004, a second prototype with an altered main rotor design was flown, and after trials, the first production Mi-28N was accepted by the Russian military on June 5th 2006, with the type being declared operational in October 2009. An export model, the Mi-28NE, has since been sold to both Iraq and Algeria. An updated model, the Mi-28NM, was first flown in 2016, with the first production examples delivered to the Russian military in June of 2019.
