:*I don't believe there is a way for you to change the data on the Specs-Card (to include which flag icon is displayed). The Specs-Card is a set of parsers and switches which all tie back to the vehicle code (<nowiki>uk_sherman_ic_firefly</nowiki>). All of the linked data exists on a database outside of the reach of us wiki editors/moderators. Sometimes data in-game changes and the wiki lags behind in updating some of those changes. That which we can change we do (thanks to you guys!), unfortunately, other data we have to wait for the Gaijin magic to make changes on the back end. - [[User:U64962917|U64962917]] ([[User talk:U64962917|talk]]) 10:50, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
::*I believe there are separate teams working on the in-game stat cards and the wiki stat cards, things will get rolled out in-game before the in the wiki. Many things like the flag icons will be rolled out on the .ru wiki and then copied to ours. The .ru moderators will need to add the image and update the stat card template to reflect the option for the Polish flag on the .ru wiki and then it will be updated on ours soon after (hopefully soon after, depends on what fires they are having to put out). - [[User:U64962917|U64962917]] ([[User talk:U64962917|talk]]) 14:37, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
:::Oh wait I misread the question. I dunno why but I though he said the wiki card somehow had the polish flag not the ingame one.
:To answer the original question, the flags in Specs-Card is currently tied to the vehicle tree country. So all vehicles in a tech tree have the same flag. For example the entire Japanese tech tree has the postwar Japan flag. The Russian Wiki guys would need to add a new 'flag' parameter to the Specs database and adjust Specs-Card to use that parameter.--[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 16:10, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
== can we do something about the search function? ==

It's so bad that it's practically useless. I write panzer 2 in the search field, and the first result is the sd. Kfz. 234/2. No sign of the panzer 2 on the first page. It seems to take into account the CSS code of the page, which is.. perplexing to say the least.

Hello The search function is working, i have just tested it. Please clear your cookies and cache, If that still does not work for you. Please [https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/forum/909-war-thunder-wikipedia/&ct=1567683350 Click here] Make a post, list your browser + version you are using, and explain the full process you do on how you perform the search.
:The issue with your search is that it is searching for the most occurrences of "panzer" and "2". Most pages referring to the panzer 2 on the wiki refer to it by its shortened name Pz. so none of those pages will be found. Since we use "Pz." instead of "panzer", there are basically no pages with "panzer" so you are basically looking for the page with the most occurrences of "2". If you want to improve your search results you can either use "Pz." or search "panzer 2" in quotes. You can find more details on how searching on the wiki works [[mw:Help:searching|here]]. --[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 12:36, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
:: The usage of roman numerals in the Panzer names (Pz. II, Pz. III, etc.) probably doesn't help at all with "Panzer 2" being able to find "Panzer II". However, as BlastedRyan said, you would have to use the shortened "Pz." in place of "Panzer" to find the desired tanks.--[[User:U28580205|U28580205]] ([[User talk:U28580205|talk]]) 15:23, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
::: Is it maybe worth creating a few redirect pages for the Panzer series?
:::: I'd say it's definitely worth it. It's a chore to have to remember the nomenclature for each vehicle, which kinda defeats the purpose of a search bar, which is to help you get to the page you want in as few inputs as possible. --[[User:U19353526|U19353526]] ([[User talk:U19353526|talk]]) 20:18, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
I am sorry, but search function on this page sucks. For example: I want to find Mirage 2000-5F and if I type "m2k 5f wt" on google, guess what what is first result - Mirage 2000-5F on WT wiki. If I miss spell single shit I get nothing, so don't pretend that this search function is just fine, it suck. IDK how this programing works so if its expensive or too hard just tell us.
== Add tutorials ==
: Each plane has their own unique handling characteristics so it makes it kind of hard to make one general page that can encompass every flight characteristics and models present. As such, if they exist, these details have been constrained to within the vehicle page in question. However, I would not begrudge the drafting of such specific pages for the situations, as we do have pages regarding aerobatic maneuvres like Boom-n-Zoom so these specific instructional pages are not forbidden (just needs approval). --[[User:U28580205|U28580205]] ([[User talk:U28580205|talk]]) 16:43, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
==Decals==
Question for the moderators or anyone whom this applies: Do you think we should add a page that has all the decals that can be found in the game. There are many so it would take a while, but seeing as this wiki has separate pages for armaments at this point (well, in the works at least, I know there is still much to be done), I don't see why a decal compilation area could be created. Further beyond from that, perhaps there could be small excerpts or pages for each decal explaining its significance if it applies (historical or fictional)--[[User:U30853183|U30853183]] ([[User talk:U30853183|talk]]) 23:20, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
== Rank 4 US tank repair cost ==

I just want to know why U.S rank 4 heavy tanks have such a high repair cost (9,400-10,000 sl) while German heavy tanks cost about 3-4,000 sl to repair. This is bad because everyone playing U.S is light tank only so its hard to win when everyone is one shot. It's not even like U.S heavies of this rank are good, they get ammo racked no matter how little ammo u carry plus the long reload. --[[User:U75486897|U75486897]] ([[User talk:U75486897|talk]]) 21:42, 14 October 2020‎ (UTC)
== Suggestion: More detailed reload times. ==

I'd like to suggest that the information about reload times be expanded to include reloading under non-ideal circumstances, for instance for many tanks, if the loader is knocked out, it takes longer to reload the gun, it would also be useful to detail reload times when the ammo in the first stage ammo racks have been spent or if loader is knocked out and the ammo on the first stage is also spent, and it would also be good to write the time it takes for the loader to replenish a round onto the ready rack, i personally believe that this kind of information would be quite useful for people who wish to have more of an idea of how their vehicle performs as it faces combat.
==Nakajima G10N==

This is a japanese super heavy bomber. The Nakajima G10N Fugaku was a planned Japanese ultra-long-range heavy bomber designed during World War II. It was conceived as a method for mounting aerial attacks from Japan against industrial targets along the west coast and in the Midwest and the northeast the United States. Japan's worsening war situation resulted in the project's cancellation in 1944 and no prototype was ever built.
Here is the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_G10N
Japan doesnt have a good heavy bomber with good bomb loads. In my opinion I whould put it at a Br. of 5.3-6.3.
:*I don't believe there is a way for you to change the data on the Specs-Card (to include which flag icon is displayed). The Specs-Card is a set of parsers and switches which all tie back to the vehicle code (<nowiki>uk_sherman_ic_firefly</nowiki>). I just want to know why U.S rank 4 heavy tanks have such a high repair cost (9,400-10,000 sl) while German heavy tanks cost about 3-4,000 sl to repair. This is bad because everyone playing U.S is light tank only so its hard to win when everyone is one shot.
==Nakajima G10N==

:: The usage of roman numerals in the Panzer names (Pz. II, Pz. III, etc.) probably doesn't help at all with "Panzer 2" being able to find "Panzer II". However, as BlastedRyan said, you would have to use the shortened "Pz." in place of "Panzer" to find the desired tanks.--[[User:U28580205|U28580205]] ([[User talk:U28580205|talk]]) 15:23, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
::: Is it maybe worth creating a few redirect pages for the Panzer series?
I am sorry, but search funkcion on this page sucks. For example: I want to find Mirage 2000-5F and if I type "m2k 5f wt" guess what is first result - Mirage 2000-5F on WT wiki.
==Decals==

The AIM-9G is part of the AIM-9 Sidewinder family of short-range infrared-guided [[air-to-air missiles]] designed by the US during the early 1950s. The Golf variant improves on the previous Echo model by heaving more reliable electronics which allows it to sustain 18G loads compared to the 10G of the Echo. The lock-on range, speed, and launch range remain the same as with the Echo. However, the Golf model has an increased weight at 88 kg and a reduced explosive mass of only 2.76 kg. As with all Sidewinder variants pre-Lima model they are still rear IR aspect guided.
== General info ==
<!-- ''Tell us about the tactical and technical characteristics of the missile.'' -->
The AIM-9G Sidewinder is a rear-aspect IR-guided short-range air-to-air missile. It functions similarly to previous variants of the AIM-9 but with more reliable avionics which allow it to sustain higher G-loads.

=== Effective damage ===
<!-- ''Describe the type of damage produced by this type of missile (high explosive, splash damage, etc)'' -->
AIM-9G uses a newer continuous rod warhead with an improved proximity fuse, this allows less explosives to be used while increasing all around damage. The missile usually guarantees a one shot kill at most angles due to the continuous rod warhead.

=== Comparison with analogues ===
''Give a comparative description of missiles that have firepower equal to this weapon.''

== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe situations when you would utilise this missile in-game (vehicle, pillbox, base, etc)'' -->
The AIM-9G is primarily a short-range air-to-air missile which requires a rear aspect IR signature to lock on to a target. The Golf models have an improved acquisition envelope making target tracking easier and at steeper angles. The missile is also able to sustain higher Gs which increases horizontal engagement hit ratios and target lock. As a short-range missile, recommended rear engagement distance is around 1-5 km, any closer launches may not give adequate time for the missile to track and manoeuvre. With horizontal engagement, lock-on distance is around 1-2 km depending on the approach angle.

When locking on, ensure that the target track is not a friendly or the sun, as the IR missile cannot differentiate between heat signatures. The most ideal engagement is a rear aspect as the enemy's engine will provide a perfect source of thermal energy for the seeker. The AIM-9G can handle offset horizontal engagements better then previous models due to the higher G load and improved seeker envelope. However you will still have difficulty acquiring the thermal signature of an aircraft unless you are within 1.5-2 km, at this shorter distance the heavier missile may not be able to manoeuvre fast enough or acquire the target.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.'' -->

'''Pros:'''

* Higher max G-load at 18G
* Improved acquisition envelope

'''Cons:'''

* Heavier missile at 88 kg compared to previous models
* Reduced explosive mass at 2.76 kg
* Same range with little improvements to avionics
{{main|AIM-9D_Sidewinder#History|l1=History of the AIM-9D Sidewinder}}

As the United States Navy improved on their [[AIM-9B Sidewinder|initial Sidewinder model (AIM-9B)]] to the AIM-9D, another feature that the China Lake development team, headed by Chuck Smith, wanted to introduce into the missile was the Sidewinder Expanded Acquisition Mode (SEAM).<ref name="Westrum_ChinaLakeAIM9_2ndGen">Westrum 2013, p.187</ref> SEAM allowed the Sidewinder to follow the aircraft's radar search pattern and target acquisition.<ref name="Designation_Sidewinder">Parsch 2008</ref> Being able to seek around a 25 degree angle in a circular scan, the Sidewinder would have a better chance of acquiring targets than earlier models that just aimed straight ahead. This feature, along with some solid-state module upgrades, were incorporated in the US Navy's next Sidewinder model, the '''AIM-9G'''. The improvement was sufficient that the initial order of 5,000 AIM-9D seekers was cut at 1,850 units and the rest were built in AIM-9G seeker specifications.<ref name="Westrum_ChinaLakeAIM9_2ndGen" /> A total of 2,120 AIM-9G missiles would be built by Raytheon between 1970 to 1972.<ref name="Designation_Sidewinder" /> As the AIM-9G consisted upgrades to the seeker and electrical components, it did not differ externally from the AIM-9D variant.
[[File:F-4J VF-96 Showtime 100 armed from below.jpg|right|thumb|300px|none|A F-4J Phantom II from VF-96, attached to the ''USS Constellation'' (CVA-64), equipped with either AIM-9D or AIM-9Gs (their external features are identical).]]

The AIM-9G would see use alongside the AIM-9D as the US Navy's choice for IR missile during the Vietnam War. A total of fourteen aircraft were claimed to have been downed by AIM-9Gs fired from a US Navy [[F-4E Phantom II|F-4J Phantom II]] plane, seven of which were [[MiG-17]]s and the other seven [[MiG-21_(Family)|MiG-21]]s.<ref name="MiGKillers">McCarthy 2009, p.148-157</ref> During Operation Linebackers I and II in 1972, the US Navy recorded a high 46% hit rate with their AIM-9G, which is credited both to the missile design and USN fighter pilot training from the Navy's Fighters Weapon School, also known as TOPGUN.<ref name="CanadianAirForceJournal">Moulton 2013, p.66-68</ref> The United States Air Force attempted to obtain AIM-9Gs from the US Navy due to poor experience with their AIM-9 Sidewinders models [[AIM-9B Sidewinder|B]], [[AIM-9E Sidewinder|E]], and [[AIM-9J Sidewinder|J]]. However, the US Navy's AIM-9s were not compatible with US Air Force's Sidewinder launchers due to the differences in cooling mechanisms (the US Navy's Sidewinder cooled by a nitrogen gas container installed on the launcher that the USAF did not have).<ref name="Westrum_ChinaLakeAIM9_2ndGen" />

While the AIM-9G was thought to have been the peak of the Sidewinder's capability at the time, several engineers at Philco-Ford (some of which helped create the first Sidewinder at China Lake) were brought in to continue improving the AIM-9 reliability, and one proposal was to convert all remaining missile electronic components to solid-state.<ref name="Westrum_ChinaLakeAIM9_2ndGen" /> The AIM-9G converted to an all solid-state technology, as well as an increased seeker tracking rate of 20 degrees/second, was designated the ''AIM-9H''. This was introduced into the Navy in 1972 and 7,700 units would be produced between 1972-1974 by Philco-Ford and Raytheon.<ref name="Designation_Sidewinder" />

Projects after the Vietnam War to continue improving the AIM-9s led to using the AIM-9H as the basis of the improvements. China Lake started the program as the ''AIM-9H Product Improvement Package (PIP)''. The United States Air Force, also seeking a missile improvement from their [[AIM-9E Sidewinder|AIM-9E]] and [[AIM-9J Sidewinder|AIM-9J]] models of the Sidewinder, became involved with the US Navy's AIM-9H PIP under direction the Pentagon. The variety of improvements inputted by both service branches led to the missile that would be designated as the [[AIM-9L Sidewinder|AIM-9L]].<ref name="Westrum_ChinaLakeAIM9L">Westrum 2013, p.191</ref>
