=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Tank-Armour}}
<!-- ''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.'' -->
The M1128 Wolfpack's narrow profile turret provides a significant advantage in combat situations. The vehicle may face challenges in terms of survivability due to its thinner armour and the relatively close proximity of its crew members. The hull of M1128 Wolfpack is invincible to most rounds from machine guns, but autocannons and HE shells with larger calibre won't have trouble knocking it out with few shots. In certain circumstances, the tall vehicle profile can be a disadvantage because it restricts the vehicle's ability to take cover and remain hidden, leaving it more open to enemy fire. Thankfully, the commander and gunner are located relatively low inside the turret basket, and all ammo racks are inside the hull. These features minimise the risk of getting one-shot from a successful turret penetration in most hull-down battles. Sometimes, the huge machine gun shield might help enemy ATGMs detonate over the hull roof and blow your whole crew up.
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->
The M1128 Wolfpack, with its advanced suspension and powerful engine, has high forward mobility and can effortlessly manoeuvre through rough terrain. The decent reverse speed also gives M1128 Wolfpack wonderful flexibility in ambush and hull-down battles.
A 12.7 mm M2HB heavy machine gun is settled in the right side of M1128 Wolfpack's turret. It has good penetration and elevation to fight against nearby hostile aircraft and light vehicles. A 7.62 mm M240 light machine gun is fixed coaxially with the tank gun of M1128 Wolfpack. Due to your low main gun ammo count, it will help you a lot ping targets or destroy minor obstacles blocking your line of sight.
== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
M1128 Wolfpack is a very competent light vehicle. It works brilliantly as a sniper with high resolution thermal sights, decent APFSDS shell, and laser rangefinder. It also has good mobility and adaptability to manoeuvre across some of the worst terrains that are a nightmare to other wheeled vehicles. These allow you to ambush and flank the enemy from unexpected positions. However, the unimpressive depression and turret rotation speed limit its performance in hilly maps. M1128 Wolfpack is also less effective in static combat and position warfare due to the low amount of main gun ammo. Its hull has poor protection while the turret can absorb many shots from kinetic shells without critical losses. Hence, it's advised to find a mild hull-down hill or proper cover that can hide your hull and allow you to fight back.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. The M1128 Mobile Gun System, commonly known as the "Wolfpack," is a vital component of the U.S. Army's Stryker family of armored vehicles. Its history dates back to the 1990s when the U.S. Army initiated the search for a replacement for the aging M551 Sheridan light tanks. The Army's objective was to develop a more mobile, versatile, and survivable armored vehicle to support infantry operations. This endeavor led to the conceptualization of the Stryker family of vehicles, including the M1128, as part of the broader transformation efforts within the military.

Development of the M1128 Wolfpack began in the early 2000s, with the construction and testing of various prototypes to ensure the vehicle met the Army's stringent requirements for mobility, protection, and firepower. In 2002, the U.S. Army officially adopted the M1128 Mobile Gun System and integrated it into the Stryker Brigade Combat Team structure. The M1128 was designed to provide infantry units with direct fire support and the ability to engage armored and fortified targets effectively.

The M1128 Wolfpack's primary weapon is a 105mm M68A1 rifled cannon, similar to the one used on the formidable M1 Abrams main battle tank. This potent cannon can fire a variety of ammunition, including high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds and Armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS), making it versatile and capable of engaging a wide range of targets.

The M1128 Wolfpack saw its inaugural combat deployment during the Iraq War in the mid-2000s. Its mobility, firepower, and protection made it a valuable asset for U.S. forces operating in urban and unconventional warfare environments. Over the years, the M1128 has undergone various upgrades and modernization efforts to enhance its capabilities and adapt to changing battlefield requirements. These upgrades include improved situational awareness systems, enhanced armor protection, and increased firepower. The M1128 Wolfpack remained in active service with the U.S. Army, continuing to fulfill its critical role by providing armored firepower and support to infantry units within the Stryker Brigade Combat Teams.
{{break}}
The 4.5-inch (114 mm) '''{{PAGENAME}}''' fin-stabilised rocket is approximately 33 in (0.83 m) in length and 40 lb (18.1 kg) and is almost an equivalent of a 105 mm Shell M1. This rocket utilises an M4 fuse which explodes after a 0.015-sec delay set off by auxiliary M1 booster.

The components of the rocket break down into three separate sections, the fuse, shell and motor body. The shell of the rocket or the head is made up of a warhead body fitted with a burster tube. The burster tube itself extends from the shell through the rocket body and through the rocket motor, the purpose of this is to expand the explosive capability of the rocket by utilising the rocket motor as an additional source of fragmentation in the explosion. Once fired, folding fins around the tail flange will extend and spin-stabilise the rocket.

The M8 rocket requires a tube launcher to launch (as opposed to being installed directly to external hardpoints) and this is accomplished by mounting an M10 cluster launcher to the underside of the aircraft's wings or fuselage belly. The M10 is a cluster of three 10-foot tubes manufactured from plastic (M14s are made from steel and M15s are constructed of magnesium alloy) and are banded together in six places and are secured to the aircraft via two mounting straps, front and rear. The rear strap also bears the electrical connections which link up to the rockets once in the tubes as the firing links. The release and contact mechanisms are protected from flying links and fired casings ejected from the wing guns to prevent accidental damage or drop release of the M10 launcher.
== History ==
The American M8 Rocket, known as the "M8 Rocket Launcher," is a significant chapter in the history of World War II artillery. It was developed during the early 1940s to address the need for a versatile and mobile ground-based rocket artillery system. The M8 Rocket Launcher's design featured a truck-mounted launch platform equipped with multiple launch tubes capable of firing 4.5-inch M8 rockets, which were often colloquially referred to as "Calliope" rockets. This system was developed to provide rapid and concentrated firepower on the battlefield.

One of the standout features of the M8 Rocket Launcher was its adaptability. It could be mounted on a variety of vehicles, most notably the Sherman tank, leading to the creation of the "Sherman Calliope." This configuration enabled armored units to deliver devastating indirect fire support while remaining mobile, a significant advantage in dynamic warfare. The M8 rocket system was instrumental in the development of barrage fire tactics, involving the rapid launching of multiple rockets to saturate a specific area with explosive firepower.

The M8 Rocket Launcher had a profound impact on the course of World War II, especially for American and Allied forces. It played a pivotal role in critical campaigns such as the Normandy landings (D-Day), where it provided essential fire support for the assault troops. The sight and sound of M8 rockets firing was not only intimidating but also highly effective in supporting ground forces during the intense combat of World War II. After the war, as military technology advanced, the M8 Rocket Launcher was gradually phased out in favor of more sophisticated rocket artillery systems.
A 7.62 mm M240 light machine gun is fixed coaxially with the tank gun of M1128 Wolfpack. Due to your low main gun ammo count, it will help you a lot ping targets or destroy minor obstacles blocking your line of sight.
This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under <code><nowiki>=== In-game description ===</nowiki></code>, also if applicable).'' -->

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the M1128 Wolfpack remained in active service with the U.S. Army, continuing to fulfill its critical role by providing armored firepower and support to infantry units within the Stryker Brigade Combat Teams. However, please note that there may have been further developments or changes in the status of the M1128 Wolfpack since that time.
