The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update "Ground Breaking"]]. It is one of the first Strf-9040 versions and is in a folder with the CV9030FIN. This model has a Bofors 40mm canon and compared to the Bushmasters it is much better, only issue is the 24-round reload magazine that limits its firing power, with that comes trigger-control. It has good amount of penetration, and a decent turret rotation speed. Although sluggish when stock, it can become something greater when spaded.
It has great speed combined with a very good and underrated 40mm gun that can shred its enemies to pieces. The good manoeuvrability is great and it has a decent engine even when stock, but it gets even better when spaded. It has a great gun with good penetration values and an awesome rate of fire. It can also unlock fuse shells that let it fight aircraft as good as any anti-air and it has access to 6 smoke-shells. it has access to Generation 2 thermals and It also has access to a scout-drone.<!-- The types of armour present on the vehicle and their general locations -->
== Usage in battles ==
<!-- ''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
The Strf 9040B excels in ambush and support roles due to its fast-firing autocannon that can severely damage an MBT frontally or destroy it from the sides and rear. However, the Strf 9040B lacks the armour and penetration to effectively spearhead a frontal assault against MBTs and lacks the mobility to quickly reach advantageous spots to ambush approaching MBTs.

When using the Strf 9040B, it is extremely important to manage your ammunition as it only takes 4.8 seconds to completely empty the autoloader, leaving you defenceless. To avoid this, it's recommended to fire in short bursts targeting critical systems and crew. Additionally, it is important to know the crew positions of commonly faced vehicles such as the M1 Abrams, Leopard 2, and Russian T series tanks as they can vary, and the low spall of the Slpprj m/90 APFSDS requires precise aim to be effective.

The Strf 9040B can also carry the Kulsgr m/90 HE-VT round, allowing for the effective removal of low-flying aircraft and thinly armoured vehicles such as most SPAA.

=== Pros and cons ===
<!-- ''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".'' -->
'''Pros:'''

* Decent manoeuvrability
* High fire rate 40 mm autocannon
* Low profile
* HE-VT allowing both ground and air engagements

'''Cons:'''

* Lacks ability to effectively brawl MBTs without team support
* Thinly armoured
* 24-round magazine with slow replenishment time
* APFSDS has Low spalling after penetration

== History ==
<!-- ''Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: <nowiki>https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History</nowiki>) and add a link to it here using the <code>main</code> template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <code><nowiki><ref></ref></nowiki></code>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <code><nowiki><references /></nowiki></code>. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under <code><nowiki>=== In-game description ===</nowiki></code>, also if applicable).'' -->
The Strf 9040B was an updated version of the 9040A, it was updated to meet modern standards at the time installing such things as a fully stabilized gun as well as incorporating new electronic systems. They also made the suspension better as to improve accuracy on the move as well as crew confort. The gun was also upgraded going from the Bofors automatkanon m/70Bb to the Bofors automatkanon m/70Bc that added an electronic firing pin to improve the accuracy of shots. The model was introduced October 1999 and the Swedish armed forces bought about 44 of the 9040B model.
The CV9030FIN was an export version of the Stridsfordon 90, made by Sweden as their project for creating a universal IFV expanded more and more. This found many customers around the world like in Brazil where they also use the Stridsfordon 90.

''The CV90 Mk I was the base for the next development, the CV90 Mk II. The Mk II was produced in three variants: the CV9030 CH (Switzerland) IFV and COM, and the CV9030 FIN (Finland) IFV. Both contracts were won in competition against other IFVs. One significant difference between the two variants was hull size: the Swiss variant is 100 mm higher over the front, with an additional 70 mm over the combat compartment at the rear. Another difference is the Mk II's partial digitization and built-in Health & Unit Monitoring System (HUMS), along with interactive manuals and instructions. The CV90 Mk II's standard armament is the Mk44 Bushmaster II autocannon.''
In the second part, tell the reader about the ground vehicle in the game. Insert a screenshot of the vehicle, so that if the novice player does not remember the vehicle by name, he will immediately understand what kind of vehicle the article is talking about.'' -->
The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update "La Royale"]].

The CV9030FIN is a model of the famous 9040s. These were made to be exported to other countries such as Czechia, Brazil, Finland and Denmark. The hull allowed it to use many different modifications including models which have a 105 or 120mm gun, anti-air models, anti-tank models etc.

The Swedish name Strf 9040 translates to= Stridsfordon 90, (Combat Vehicle 90). The designation afterwards is telling us which gun it is using. For example the 9040 uses the 40mm Bofors gun. CV9030FIN is the English name, and Strf9030FIN is the original Swedish designation.

The CV9030FIN in game is the variant that is used in Finland, using a MK.44 Bushmaster 30mm. It is the first Stridsfordon 90 available for research by the players. It is not the best version, but it can be used. The speed, agility and decent survivability can be used by experienced players to create havoc in the enemy team.

The 30mm Bushmaster is not the best auto cannon, as the Bofors that is available on the other Stridsfordons, but it can be utilised in many ways.

Flanking, going after lighter targets or just supporting the allied team can be of great assistance to both the team and yourself.

For grinding, of course Parts and FPE should be prioritised, but most of all the APFSDS round as the APDS round is very lacklustre in comparison. Then Thermal imaging as it allows you to spot targets better. It has access to Gen 2 Thermal imaging and it is also available on the commanders sight, something that is pretty rare and should be used.

== General info ==
=== Survivability and armour ===
{{Specs-Tank-Armour}}
<!-- ''Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.'' -->
The armour on the CV9030FIN is not the greatest, although it has a small upgrade compared to the 9040B and BILL. The engine on all Stridsfordon vehicles are good protection as it is also rather large. The crew consists of 3 which is not very much, and will usually lead to you being one-shot and back to the garage.

The armour on the 9030 has a better protection against 50-cals and larger machine-guns, but from some weird angles or from the rear there is not as much protection. Therefore it is recommended that you always aim your front towards the enemy and perhaps even angle a little bit.

You should always try and take out the gun and machine-gun on the enemy tank before showing your weakest sides.

There is no large ammunition stowage, and ammunition explosions are rare. Compared to the Marders that have large ATGMs stored in the back of the vehicle which means that a single hit will usually destroy your vehicle. Therefore you can angle your back but you have to be careful not to show too much as it will result in a ticket back to the garage.

'''Armour type:''' <!-- The types of armour present on the vehicle and their general locations -->
<!-- Example: * Rolled homogeneous armour (Front, Side, Rear, Hull roof)
<!-- Example: * Suspension wheels are 20 mm thick, tracks are 30 mm thick, and torsion bars are 60 mm thick. -->

=== Mobility ===
{{Specs-Tank-Mobility}}
<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->
The mobility is very good, the Scania engine powers the vehicle forward and it is stronger than the 9040B, but the extra armour makes it almost the same speed.

Nevertheless the CV9030FIN is a nimble vehicle with a great torque that lets it come to its maximum speed fast, although it can feel a bit sluggish when stock. It is not the fastest, but it can still put a challenge into other enemy vehicles that are usually slower than it. The speed forward can reach 70km/h and 46km/h in reverse which lets it retreat quickly if needed. The 625hp (when upgraded) is great as it lets the 9030FIN to accelerate very quickly despite having a increased weight.
Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->
The CV9030FIN is a good IFV worthy of its name. It has a large learning curve but when mastered it's a perfect faster-paced tank. When stock, it is a hard vehicle to play as it is slow for being an IFV, but faster than an average MBT. You will not be able to pen any fronts unless it is lighter vehicles like or angled, or sides.

The gun on the CV9030FIN is also better in some ways in comparison to its brethren as it has a machine-fed magazine that lets you fire more than the autoloading-mechanism on the 9040s. This lets you fire for longer although giving you a lower ROF.

When upgraded, the 9030FIN sports a great engine, but be warned about the rather loud engine as it can be heard pretty easily. Therefore there should be careful planning before flanking and be wary about where you are. A good positioned CV9030 can take out many enemies if executed right.

'''Leopard 1 (1A1, 1A5, Italian Leopards, etc)''' has a relatively weak frontal plate, which can be penetrated using the APFSDS round, but with the APDS, you should aim for the turret cheeks which will hopefully kick out the crew in the turret, or at least the breach. You can also try and go for the turret ring. If the Leopard is angled, shoot the front of the side which will usually go thru and either completely disable the Leopard or damage it severely.

'''T-55, T-64, T-62, T-72 etc and most soviet vehicles''' have a relatively slow turret speed, which can be utilised, BUT they have a decent agility so that should be taken into account. On paper, the 9030FIN can penetrate the frontal turret of the T-55, just beside the gun, and maybe even the rest of the soviet MBTs, but this is up to the player to decide if its worth trying. Soviet tanks are trickier to deal with although not impossible. Flanking should be a priority when dealing with these, but taking out the gun is a priority if flanking is not possible. If their side is against you, the ammo can be shot which is exactly on the center of the soviet tank, a bit lower down-but may not explode. The chances are larger that it does explode.

'''Soviet light tanks''' are easy to take out, as they do not have that much armour either, but beware their fast-firing auto cannons. Your engine might take those shots, but you have to shoot them down fast. The 2S38 is one of the most dangerous, but with patience and using this vehicles decent canon and maneuverability you should be able to out-manouver it. But the best thing is to wait for it and ambush them as this uses the canons great accuracy.

'''American MBTS and lights''' are almost the same as the German ones, if they are angled, towards you, shoot their sides as it will most of the time knock out important components and usually the engine, which then lets you flank them. Heavier MBTs like the M1A1 etc that can sometimes be seen at this range are tougher to take out when angled, but their gun can be taken out relatively easily.

=== Pros and cons ===
* Engine block at the front of the vehicle can tank some damage
* APFSDS has decent penetration which allows the tank to penetrate the sides and backs of most tanks, can also pen when angled
* Great mobility
* Good turret-rotation
* Decent protection against heavy-calibers and some failed shots
* Scouting-UAV
* Thermals in commander sight and gunner-sight.
* Thermal Gen 2

'''Cons:'''

* Thermals and APFSDS are Rank III modifications which require some time to get
* .50 cal fire can penetrate the back of the vehicle
* Mediocre acceleration, takes rather long to get to the top speed
* Has only one turret-fixed 7.62 mm machine gun, rendering it useless against targets when the turret is knocked out
* Rather loud engine

The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update "Ground Breaking"]].

It has great speed combined with a very good and underrated 40mm gun that can shred its enemies to pieces. The good manoeuvrability is great and it has a decent engine even when stock, but it gets even better when spaded. It has a great gun with good penetration values and an awesome rate of fire. It can also unlock fuse shells that let it fight aircraft as good as any anti-air and it has access to 6 smoke-shells. it has access to Generation 2 thermals which let it see targets before they see you. It also has access to a scout-drone.
''As it is a light tank, there is not much armour to speak of but it does do well because of the engine that is rather large and usually eats shells. The driver usually survives due to this.''

The armour does get improved on the later models but should not be relied on. Use your great speed to move around and not get shot. If you will get shot, try to have your engine towards the enemy as they might shoot it and let you take them out or remove their barrels.
== Usage in battles ==
The Strf 9040B is a deadly vehicle in the right hands, as many other vehicles, good positioning and timing is key.

Here are some things that the Strf 9040B offers:

'''Gun'''

The Gun is great, one of the best if not the best auto cannon you can have. It's used by a wide variety of Swedish vehicles and even American 40mm are usually the Swedish Bofors. There is only one fault however, the auto-loading mechanism. This does exist in real life as well, but in the game it's implemented poorly. So it's important to note the limited ammo you have of 24 shots before you run out. So it's an auto cannon with an autoloader like a tank! So shoot mainly like a tank, unless you are on a capture point in which you can almost shoot indefinitely as the quick reload of the cap and the normal reload of the autoloader makes it a beast in defence!

'''Speed'''

The speed of the Strf 9040B allows it to reach specific areas pretty quickly, but maybe not as quick as some of its peers. This allows the 9040B to use its awesome 40mm Bofors canon to its extent as its great rate of fire and penetration values (for a autocannon) can quickly liquidate any light tank, if you shoot first however.

The speed also allows it to retreat fast as its reverse speed is almost the same as the forward speed. The engine offers great torque although not as good as the 9030FIN or the 9040C. The good thing however is that this particular model has less armour and this makes it lighter.

'''Universality'''

The Strf 9040B has great universal capabilities. It has access to fuse-shells which allows it to effectively destroy low flying airplanes, and even far away helicopters. Although the normal APFSDS shell might be adequate for this as well, as the high rate of fire combined with extreme accuracy of the 40mm Bofors lets it hit most of its flying targets.

No planes or helicopters? Of course this is not an anti-air vehicle, so you will see tanks pretty often. The Strf 9040 vehicles were made by the Swedish army to work as a multi-tool vehicle, which could fight infantry, tanks and air targets as easily as any other vehicle. The APFSDS offers 143mm of penetration which lets it actually penetrate the turret of many Soviet vehicles if aimed right, the breach can be taken out and if lucky, based on what you are shooting, even some crew.

American tanks are a bit nastier to deal with. If faced frontally, just try to shoot the barrel or the turret ring if feeling lucky, otherwise go for the barrel and track, then flank it.

Almost ANY tank you face that is slightly angled at you, you can penetrate their sides and damage them heavily, if not take them out instantly.

If facing the side of any tank, shoot the driver and THEN the rest, as your fast fire rate lets you finish them. Soviet heavies have their ammo in the middle of the tank and shooting it lets you usually ammo-rack them.

'''Armour...?'''

The armour is not much, but the engine is pretty good at absorbing shots and usually many will shoot the middle, which will usually give you a fire and maybe the driver sadly gets knocked out. But the armour is decent for a light tank/IFV, but should not be relied on.

'''Scouting'''

The 9040B has access to a scouting drone which on large maps let it scout while the tank is hiding and find targets for the team and itself. Use it to see the enemies before they can see you and prepare. It also has access to Gen 2 thermals which let it effectively fight up-to date enemies as well. This should be prioritised as it is a worthwhile upgrade.

=== Pros and cons ===

'''Pros:'''

* Great manoeuvrability
* Adequate rapid-fire automatic 40 mm cannon
* Low profile
* Great penetration
* Great accuracy
* Good adaptability with the ability to fight planes and tanks
* Good turret rotation
* Good acceleration
* Decent torque

'''Cons:'''

* Lacking better APFDS slpprj m/01 rounds
* Little protection
* 24-round fast-loading magazine, although it can be compensated by being in a cap
* A learning curve but not a bad one
* Sadly does not have a commanders-view like the 9030FIN

== History ==
