Usage in battles
<!-- Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB). -->
The Ozelot requires discipline to use efficiently. Care must be taken not to fire on enemies flying too close, otherwise the missile will not be able to turn quickly enough to hit the target. The Ozelot should be used in an open environment, as obstacles can interfere with the radar guidance of the missiles, or even get hit by the missiles themselves. Helicopters are this vehicle's main opponent.

Engaging helicopters
Activate the missile seeker and point the blinking green circle at the helicopter. When it turns red, you can fire the missile that will guide itself to the target. Once the missile is fired, you can begin to engage a different target while the missile is still in the air. For very low flying helicopters, you need to aim above the target as much as possible (about half of the circle's diameter, doing more will prevent a lock) in order to prevent the missile from hitting the ground. It may be beneficial if you choose an elevated position like a pile of rubble or a hill to fire from.

Note that it is harder to lock helicopters on winter maps and one may struggle to lock an Mi-24 helicopter at 2.5 km, which may lead some players to preferring using a Gepard on these maps.

Engaging planes
Engaging planes is more challenging due to the missile's low turning rate and energy retention. It is recommended to lock the target using your optical sensor or direct lock in the gunner's optics, but this is not required. As a rule of thumb for fast flying planes, aim as much as possible in front of where the plane is going to be and a little bit higher. Engaging a fast flying plane that is not flying towards you or away from you will usually cause the missile to miss. Experienced pilots will try to spot the white fume trail of the missile launch and will turn very hard, which is very likely to out-turn your missile. Since maneuvering planes will lose energy, you can drain the energy/speed of the plane to a level where you can hit it with your 3rd or 4th missile. If you wait with the launch of the 4th missile until the plane is at 1.5 km, the plane cannot engage you after evading the last missile. However, if you fire your last missile in the magazine too early, they will use their guns to wipe you off the map. Unless you can replenish your missiles on a cap point, it may be more efficient to not fire at planes circling your position.

Pros and cons
<!-- Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective". -->

Pros:

* Very fast and agile vehicle
* Small profile and easily hidden
* Missiles require no guidance after firing
* Missiles do not require the vehicle to be stopped to fire.
* Gen 3 thermals for scouting and sighting targets

Cons:

* No armour
* Surface-to-air missiles can be unreliable
* Can not defend itself against ground vehicles

History
The Wiesel 2
The Wiesel 2 entered service in 2001. This new vehicle was larger, faster, stronger and more advanced than its predecessor. The Wiesel 2 was outfitted with a more advanced engine and fuel injector along with automatic transmission. The vehicle also saw an upgrade in armor, as it was slightly more advanced than the Wiesel 1's. Lastly the Wiesel 2 received an air conditioning system for the crew’s comfort in the small tankette. Lastly the Wiesel 2 received an integrated NBC protection system to ensure the crew’s safety against nuclear and chemical threats.

The Ozelot
Developed on the Chassis of the Wiesel 2 the Ozelot was intended for light air defense in a range of up to 20 kilometers. This variant on the Wiesel 2 was created as a mobile air defense system armed with the leichtes Flugabwehrsystem (LeFlaSys). The Ozelot works alongside a secondary vehicle which contains the guidance and radar systems called the “Reconnaissance, Command and Fire Control Vehicle” or AAF. While the second vehicle is armed with the four missiles to eliminate the target which is the Ozelot itself. The AAF can command up to eight Ozelots on its own. Deployed to many of the same missions as the Wiesel 1A4 such as Operation Essential Harvest in 2001 and The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan from 2001-2014.
The name is a rank rank German SPAA Battle-rating. It was introduced in Update "Ground Breaking".

The Wiesel 1A4, while very weak in both armour and armament, is very small and fast compared to most other vehicles at its BR. Given the ability to spot, use thermals, and help teammates with repairs, the Wiesel handles a lot closer to a light tank than an SPAA as it has very limited gun elevation at 45°. Even with its poor elevation, the Rh202 is capable of taking down aircraft found at its BR such as the Su-9 as well as lightly-armoured vehicles like the U-SH 405.

General info
Survivability and armour
Specs-Tank-Armour
<!-- Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour. -->
The armour is very thin throughout the vehicle, only able to protect from shrapnel and rifle-calibre machine gun fire. Anything with a calibre of 12.7 mm or larger will penetrate. The external fuel tank provides a minor increase in protection, but is still able to be penetrated by large-calibre machine guns. The interior armour provides minor protection to spalling and small shells, but isn't guaranteed to stop anything above 12.7 mm upon penetration. Two vents can be found on the tank with 5 mm of armour, one on the top above the radiator and the other in the middle of the left side, while not much of a difference, if shot at the right angle rifle-calibre machine gun fire can penetrate. The driver and gunner are sitting in a line if looking directly from the front or at a slight angle, which increases the likelihood of getting both knocked out with a single shot. Moreover, as there are only 2 crew members, losing even 1 man will knock out the vehicle unless on a point with crew replenishment.

* The ammunition is modeled as 4 magazines of 100 rounds.

Given the size and speed of the Wiesel, it is very competent at flanking or rushing objectives. With the ability to spot and use thermals, the Wiesel can help its team by spotting enemies when flanking, or help its team by assisting with repairs and shooting down low-flying aircraft. Because of the minimal armour though, the Wiesel will almost always die from a single shot because of this, being alone in open areas or near enemies is not a good idea.

Pros:

* Excellent acceleration and mobility
* Good anti-air capability
* Low profile, can hide in small areas
* Its 20 mm has a high rate of fire
* Access to 2nd generation thermals, night vision and a laser rangefinder

Cons:

* Almost no armour
* Can't penetrate tanks reliably
* Turret can't rotate a full 360°
* Its gun heats up quite quickly
* Poor gun elevation compared to other SPAA

History
Development
Initially developed in 1979 by Rheinmetall for the Bundeswehr as an airborne light armored vehicle. The Wiesel was equipped with Rheinmetall’s own Mk 20 RH-202 20 mm autocannon and designed to be small enough to fit inside standard NATO transport aircraft and even the CH53G Sea Stallion helicopter. The Wiesel was supposedly capable of being air dropped alongside airborne elements and was meant to act as armored support for airborne troops though this idea was abandoned due to many failed tests. The Wiesel 1A4 was designed to combat infantry, tanks, armored vehicles and even aircraft. The Wiesel program was temporarily shut down in 1978 due to a lack of adequate funding though continued development later after interest was heard from other countries. The Bundeswehr eventually ordered 343 Weasels in 1985.

Combat usage
The Wiesel 1A4 first saw service in 1993 as a part of the UN mission to Somalia (UNOSOM ll) as part of the German peacekeeping force. Soon after, Wiesel participated in NATO’s Implementation Force (IFOR) which took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1995-1996. Continuing after was NATO’s Stabilization Force (SFOR) also taking place in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1996-2004. Participating in yet another NATO mission in Kosovo as part of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) from 1999-Present (2022). The Wiesel then was a part of Operation Essential Harvest (TFH) taking place in The Republic of Macedonia in 2001 to combat insurgencies. Lastly, Wiesel took part in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan from 2001-2014.
Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros:

* Deadly gun with excellent APFSDS rounds (408 mm penetration at 10 m, 1,455 m/s), as well as good ammo options available (HEAT, HESH rounds)
* Adequate gun depression/elevation angles (+20°/-9°), so good at fighting uphill and downhill
* Effective two axis stabilization
* Effective zoom values (4x-12x) to look for targets and place accurate shots
* The extra composite screens work as a spaced armour and are an effective protection against HEAT in some parts
* Good reverse speed (25 km/h) to get out of sticky situations
* Access to a laser range finder for quick and accurate ranging
* Access to thermal imaging to spot targets in bad conditions (only 1st gen though, 800 x 600 resolution)
* Can produce a favourable German line-up alongside the Leopard A1A1 (L/44), Leopard A1A1, Radkampfwgen 90 etc.

Cons:

* Armour will not protect you against most APFSDS rounds nor chemical rounds, especially to the front
* Roof-mounted MG are in rifle-calibres, and can not cause sufficient damage against most encountered enemies
* Heavier weight than the standard Leopard 1 due to extra screen armour affects acceleration, handling, and turret traverse

History
In 1999 the Canadian Armed Forces sought to upgrade their arsenal of 66 Leopard C1s which were purchased from West Germany in June 1977. Refurbishing the tanks with a new turret, gunsight, and hydraulic systems for better long-distance movement. In the year 2006, the C2A1s saw action when a 15 tank squadron was deployed to Afghanistan to support the peacekeeping effort started by the United States and other countries including Canada following the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York. While in Afghanistan the squadron’s C2A1’s received further modification to accommodate the fighting situation. The modifications were new mine-resistant armor on the bottom of the hull to combat IEDs and anti-tank mines prevalent in the area. For the comfort of the crew, a new cooling system and thermal covers were added to the C2s serving in Afghanistan. The C2’s were recalled in 2011 when Canada concluded all combat operations in Afghanistan. Canada replaced its fleet of C2A1s with new Leopard 2s in 2017.
