The Mustang Mk-1A is similar to its bigger brother (or in some ways smaller) in the fact that it carries many good and bad traits. Interestingly, it inherits much of the advantages of the P-51D while adding some of its own good characteristics. High altitude performance is miserable, but it won't get there any time soon with the sluggish climb rate. Top speed is very good, yet achieving it can take some time due to the slow acceleration. Low-altitude manoeuvrability is decent.&lt;br /&gt;

The Mk-1A is equipped with four Hispano 20 mm cannons, making it a formidable firing platform. However, these cannon will run out of ammo, due to the sparse 125 rpg. They will jam quickly too. Take advantage of the cannon though, because when compared to other nation's counterparts the MK-1A can make rapid kills of any plane. Air targets belts are recommended for experienced players; they possess the most HE shells out of any belt, but lack tracers. Unlike in the [[Typhoon_Mk_Ib/L|Typhoon]] series, the guns on the Mustang are mounted in close proximity, dealing a deadly double punch when hitting. Very similar to the [[Spitfire Mk Vc|Spitfire Mk.Vc]] which has 5 rounds per gun less than the Mustang.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Unfortunately, the Mustang Mk-1A is not a great Boom &amp;amp; Zoom fighter nor a great turn-fighter; it is a trade-off between the great high-altitude performance of the P-51D and its own average all-altitude performance. The top speed is only middling, although top speed and dive-speed are excellent. Climb rate is relatively poor, at only 13 m/s. To top that off, it has an average turn-rate as well. Thus, the Mk-1A is a great plane for head-ons, tail-end combat, and in very few cases, turn fighting. At low altitudes, turning is very snappy provided you have the speed. The engine is prone to overheating relatively (and annoyingly) quickly in realistic and simulator battles. Additionally, a small amount of damage taken by the engine can result in its destruction, which is problematic while attacking bombers. Additionally, the cockpit is a great downfall, as it provides poor visibility.&lt;br /&gt;

A Mustang with altitude is a dangerous Mustang. Try to take out a Mustang, you must do what you can to rob it of its altitude advantage by either climbing above it or bringing it down to the Earth. The latter can be easily done if the Mustang pilot is aggressive and will eagerly tail an enticing target in a dive down to low altitude. In this case, one can rely on bleeding the Mustang of its speed as it pursues its target or when it returns to a climb and use this opportunity to pounce the Mustang.&lt;br /&gt;

The North American P-51 Mustang was a single seat fighter which was designed, developed and entered service all during the course of the Second World War. The origins of the aircraft came about in April 1940, when the British Purchasing Commission approached the North American aviation company to design a fighter to augment those already in service with RAF Fighter Command. The prototype first flew on October 26th 1940 and, after a highly successful test and evaluation period, 320 aircraft were ordered and the first production aircraft flew on May 1st 1941. Delivered to No.26 Squadron at Gatwick, the new American fighter was designated the Mustang Mk.I by the RAF. It was considered to be superior to any other American fighter at the time, particularly at low level. However, the 1100 hp Allison V-1710 engine had a poorer performance at high altitude, particularly above 15,000 feet which was above where the engine supercharger was optimized for.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For this reason, the Mustangs were used in support of ground operations rather than in their intended original role as a fighter. The Mustang was very successful in this role and an additional order for a further 300 aircraft was placed. The new batch was modified by fitting self sealing fuel tanks and replacing the earlier Mustangs' eight machine guns with a new armament of four 20mm cannon, to create the Mustang Mk.IA. The RAF's successes with the Mustang led to a good deal of attention from the United States Army Air Force; after highlighting the fighter's only serious shortcoming as its high altitude performance, enquiries were made into fitting the aircraft with a different engine.&lt;br /&gt;

The British Rolls-Royce Merlin was selected for testing in five converted Mustangs, and the performance of the fighter increased dramatically. The airframe and wings were strengthened to harness the power of the Merlin engine, which also resulted in the fitting of under wing stores now being an option. Mustangs could now carry bombs, rockets or long range drop tanks. Now more than capable of competing across all altitude bands and boasting a particularly long range for a single engine fighter, the Mustang was rapidly evolving into one of the most capable air assets of the entire war. However, with British and American interest in the fighter still growing, future variants of the Mustang would show yet more improvements.&lt;br /&gt;

This plane with its 2 x 47 mm cannons on each side with only armour piercing ammo (by default) with no other armament is clearly made for the ground attack role.  It's definitely not a fighter as the heavy cannons make it very hard to manoeuvre, but once fully modified it has the ability to be the most unstoppable plane in its role. The Tempest Vickers Mk V equipped with the Vickers 47 mm cannons is an absolute tank buster when used correctly. Engaging enemy planes should only be done when they are distracted, and make sure to keep your speed high so that you can disengage by running away.&lt;br /&gt;

The Tempest can easily take out any light, medium, and most heavy tanks when the attack is made from the correct angle. You can hit light tanks from any angle, medium tanks from side or rear and you want to take the heavies from the rear. Light pillboxes are also easily destroyed. In addition, 76 rounds may not sound like a lot, but it will more than enough in most circumstances.&lt;br /&gt;

The best defence of the Tempest Vickers P is its speed. Almost all of the planes it will face will not be able to match its level flight speed. However, stay alert for enemy planes, because if they come out of a dive, they will be able to catch up to you. If you spot an enemy plane in the distance, start running to friendly aircraft before the enemy gets too close. In a dive, the Tempest can easily reach speeds of close to 800 kph. In level flight, you will slowly reach about 620 kph using WEP, and 590 kph without it (note that these speeds are at sea level). The Tempest will lose a lot of energy in turns, so try to make smooth manoeuvres. Finally, your water and oil will start to overheat after prolonged use of WEP. Going to 100% power will cool your plane down again.&lt;br /&gt;

The Tempest Vickers P was a concept plane designed due to the lacking ability of the 40 mm armed Hurricane IID in destroying Tiger 1 tanks in North Africa, The air staff put out an issue in 1942 for a 47 mm airborne anti-tank gun which would fire a 4 lb 9oz (2.07kg) solid AP shot at 2,650 fps (808 m/s) with a rate of fire no less than 60 rounds a minute.&lt;br /&gt;

Vickers was contracted to make the rounds, case piece was 326 mm long, the rim diameter at 59.7 mm with the body diameter at 52.3 mm, the shot was typical of most other British rounds of the time, solid AP shot with no HE filler, overall with the shot fitted the round was 474 mm long.&lt;br /&gt;

The gun itself was in contest by three firms of the time, Vickers, Rolls-Royce and the war office design department, the project was known as the &amp;quot;class P gun&amp;quot; as such the competing designs were known as PV (Vickers) PR (Rolls-Royce) PC (for the Chief superintendent of armament design in the war office).&lt;br /&gt;

Complete information about the three projects does not appear to have survived. The PR gun was designed with two different barrel lengths, a 70-calibre barrel (with which the muzzle velocity was calculated to be 2,675 fps or 815 m/s) which was about 4.3 m long overall, and a 52-calibre version. The gun was belt-fed and used a long-recoil design; the weapon recoiled 66 cm on firing, generating a peak recoil of just over 2,000 kg. The PC gun weighed 250-270 kg and recoiled only 30 cm, thereby generating a stronger peak recoil of 3,560 kg. This was magazine fed with two alternative designs; a 30-round flat box lying across the gun's body, and a 34-36 round drum wrapped around the rear of the gun. Overall length was 4.5-4.7 m respectively. No information is recorded about the PV gun.&lt;br /&gt;

The Tempest Vickers P was a concept plane designed due to the lacking ability of the 40 mm armed Hurricane IID in destroying Tiger 1 tanks in North Africa, The air staff put out an issue in 1942 for a 47 mm airborne anti-tank gun which would fire a 4 lb 9oz (2.07kg) solid AP shot at 2,650 fps (808 m/s) with a rate of fire no less than 60 rounds a minute.&lt;br /&gt;

The Tempest Vickers P was a concept plane designed due to the lacking ability of the 40 mm armed Hurricane IID in destroying Tiger 1 tanks in North Africa, The air staff put out an issue in 1942 for a 47 mm airborne anti-tank gun which would fire a 4 lb 9oz (2.07kg) solid AP shot at 2,650 fps (808 m/s) with a rate of fire no less than 60 rounds a minute.&lt;br /&gt;

At the tail end of World War II, Hawker Aircraft's design team was working on the way to utilize new jet engine technology. Hawker utilized a modified Sea Fury who would be the basis for their new jet aircraft. Adapting the plane to the new Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet engine required substantial reworking of the aircraft fuselage. Initially, the British Air Ministry showed little interest in the aircraft. Thus later Hawker pitched the idea of the plane to the navy, which was not overly enthused about the project, though ultimately accepted three prototypes due to the long-range potential of these aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;

Orders for the Hawker Sea Hawk came about; however, due to its careful designs, it was quickly superseded by other British fighters in development with more advanced features. The pilot can choose from only bombs, only rockets (two different types) or a mix of both. As noted, the Sea Hawk weapon's configuration outfits four 20 mm autocannons. In Air Realistic battles, you have a good top speed with okay acceleration and a decent climb rate (particularly when fully upgraded). After takeoff, build speed to about 500 kph then enter a 10 degree climb (a 10 degree climb straight off the runway can also work in some situations). You can either continue climbing to high altitude (~5 km) to engage high flying bombers /fighters and gain an altitude advantage; or you can choose to level off at 3-4 km and focus on building speed to engage enemy fighters and bombers at lower altitudes (aircraft such as [[Ar 234 C-3]]s and [[IL-28]]s will often fly low to get to bases/ground targets quickly) depending on your preferred play-style.&lt;br /&gt;

When engaging enemy aircraft, use your good speed and excellent energy retention to your advantage; do not bleed speed to keep on a slower enemy's tail; swoop in fire off a burst of rounds and then break contact and come around for another pass. The Sea Hawk has good manoeuvrability for a jet aircraft (although it is not in the same league as the [[Vampire FB 5|Vampire]] and [[Ho 229 V3|Ho 229]]), and your energy retention does make limited turning engagements with less manoeuvrable targets a valid option in some situation, although you will bleed too much speed to justify prolonged turn fights. You can safely deploys flaps at any speed below 850 kph and they can significantly increase turning ability, however they create a lot of drag (you will not hold 600 kph in level flight with them deployed) so should be used sparingly. A good tactic is to deploy the flaps as you enter or are in mid-turn to help kick the plane around and then undeploy them as soon as possible afterwards. Do not get complacent with the flaps, although you can use them at most speeds. The Sea Hawk can exceed 900 kph so you may be in for a nasty surprise if you deploy them a full speed.&lt;br /&gt;

It is also worth remembering that the Sea Hawk is a naval aircraft, unlocking the ability to use aircraft carriers for takeoff and landing. A carrier spawn can sometimes be desirable, be it for putting you further away / closer to the enemy (more climbing time or quicker action), or giving you the chance to attack from an area of the map the enemy team are not expecting. Likewise if you need to rearm and suspect the enemy are waiting for you at the airfield, you can always divert to a carrier.&lt;br /&gt;

Already by the end of WW2, Hawker began working on their first jet-propelled aircraft as the new jet propulsion technology became available. As a basis for their new aircraft, they took the Hawker Fury and began adapting it to house a turbojet engine. The project received the designation P.1035.&lt;br /&gt;

As work went on, the attention the project garnered initially from the Air Ministry and the Admiralty was rather low and eventually dropped completely, forcing Hawker to continue development of the aircraft under a private venture. At the tail end of World War II, Hawker Aircraft's design team was working on the way to utilize new jet engine technology. Hawker utilized a modified Sea Fury who would be the basis for their new jet aircraft. Adapting the plane to the new Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet engine required substantial reworking of the aircraft fuselage. Initially, the British Air Ministry showed little interest in the aircraft. Thus later Hawker pitched the idea of the plane to the navy, which was not overly enthused about the project, though ultimately accepted three prototypes due to the long-range potential of these aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;

Orders for the Hawker Sea Hawk came about; however, due to its careful designs, it was quickly superseded by other British fighters in development with more advanced features. In 1956 production was terminated and the aircraft was put up for an evaluation to the export market. Though Australia and Canada tested out the plane, they instead opted for American fighters. Other nations such as Germany, the Netherlands and India incorporated the Sea Hawk into their navies. Eventually, they saw action in the Suez Crisis and the Indo-Pakistani Wars of 1965 and 1971. India was able to sink over a dozen Pakistani ships without a single Sea Hawk loss.&lt;br /&gt;

The Sea Hawk though classified as a fighter, it is primarily a ground-pounding aircraft. With an assortment of bombs and rockets in conjunction with its four 20 mm autocannons, this aircraft can make short work of structures and vehicles on the ground. One benefit of this aircraft compared to others is the ability to mix and match your ordnance depending on the task at hand. The pilot can choose from all bombs, all rockets (two different types) or a mix of both. As noted, the Sea Hawk weapon's configuration outfits four 20 mm autocannons. These guns are arranged for optimal use against the ground and air targets, in fact, they are the only weapons on this aircraft which can be effectively used in air-to-air battles.&lt;br /&gt;

Though the Sea Hawk development did not configure this aircraft to be an interceptor like many of its swept-wing contemporaries, it can none the less be a worthy adversary that can seem to pull off the impossible. In Air Realistic battles, you have a good top speed with okay acceleration and a decent climb rate (particularly when fully upgraded). After takeoff, build speed to about 500 kph then enter a 10 degree climb (a 10 degree climb straight off the runway can also work in some situations). You can either continue climbing to high altitude (~5 km) to engage high flying bombers /fighters and gain an altitude advantage; or you can choose to level off at 3-4 km and focus on building speed to engage enemy fighters and bombers at lower altitudes (aircraft such as [[Ar 234 C-3]]s and [[IL-28]]s will often fly low to get to bases/ground targets quickly) depending on your preferred play-style.&lt;br /&gt;

The Sea Hawk has good manoeuvrability for a jet aircraft (although it is not in the same league as the [[Vampire FB 5|Vampire]] and [[Ho 229 V3|Ho 229]]), and your energy retention does make limited turning engagements with less manoeuvrable targets a valid option in some situation, although you will bleed too much speed to justify prolonged turn fights. You can safely deploys flaps at any speed below 850 kph and they can significantly increase turning ability, however they create a lot of drag (you will not hold 600 kph in level flight with them deployed) so should be used sparingly. A good tactic is to deploy the flaps as you enter or are in mid-turn to help kick the plane around and then undeploy them as soon as possible afterwards. Do not get complacent with the flaps, although you can use them at most speeds. The Sea Hawk can exceed 900 kph so you may be in for a nasty surprise if you deploy them a full speed.&lt;br /&gt;
